Serena was supposed to be ready half an hour ago. "Dammit, Serena, get moving will ya?" she yelled up to her. "Coming!" Ten seconds later, Serena Tzukino came running down the stairs. Halfway down, though, she tripped and fell all the way down. "Klutz," Lita mumbled. "Let's get movin'. We were supposed to be at Raye's over an hour ago. Man." Lita hurried off. Serena followed. "Where on earth were you two?" Amy said, as the two girls joined their friends at the temple. "You are late." "Yeah," interrupted Raye. "Over an hour late. But, as usual, it doesn't surprise me. Knowing how Serena is." "Oh come off it, Raye!" Serena said. Lita quickly said, "Don't start you guys! I've got a headache as it is." She began rubbing her temples. "I haven't been feeling to well the past few days." "Are you sick?" asked Mina. Lita put down her hand and said quietly, "I don't think so." "Hmmmm," Luna said, joining them. "It sounds like you are coming down with something. How long did you say you've been feeling like this?" Luna hopped onto Lita's lap. "For about a week. Why?" Lita stroked Luna's back. Luna purred in reply. "Because," stated Artemis, "you're not the only one getting sick." He gestured to the newspaper that Amy was reading. The front page had, in large type across the top: Sickness Invades Town Of Tokyo Lita continued to read. A woman visiting with her family from the U.S. claimed that her eldest son, Ryan, suddenly became ill the night of his championship basketball game. "He just started getting headaches," the lady explains. "Yet Ryan never just gets sick like that." She went on to say that her other two sons, Billy,10, and Zachery,8, began getting these strange headaches as well. Another unhappy citizen states that "I just began feeling odd, as if someone had slammed a baseball bat against my head." We will try to keep you up to date with this odd and baffling illness as best we can. But for now, all that we can do, is pray for the best. "See?" said Artemis. "You may be getting this thing. God knows what it is." Raye snatched the paper from Amy. "You don't think the Negaverse is part of this, do you Luna?" "I wouldn't doubt it, Raye." Serena was not paying the least bit of attention. She was absorbed in one of Raye's comic books. "Serena?" Raye asked her. "Serena? Hey, Meatball Head! Will you listen already?" She snatched away her comic. "Raye! You are so mean." Serena pouted. "Girls please," Luna pleaded. "Please, just don't fight for a while, will you? Can't you see we have a sick scout here?" She jumped from Lita's lap and walked over to Amy. "Amy. Can you somehow determine if the Negaverse is at work here?" "I don't think I can, Luna," Amy said softly. Lita finaly chimed in. "Look. It is nothing. It's just a headache, get it? Stop making it such a big deal." She got up from the chair and stamped out the temple. "Lita! Wait! Lita!" Lita kept running. She suddenly felt angry. She didn't want to talk to any of them. "Lita!" Mina called again. "Lita! Please listen to us!" "Come on won't ya Lita?" Raye yelled from behind her. "Lita!" Lita turned her head to face them. "Look guys. If you keep anoying me, I'm sure to do something crazy." Serena and Amy caught up to the others. They all stood there, waiting for Lita to come to her senses. "Lita?" Amy asked. "We only want to help. What if the Negaverse is part of this? What if they have gotten to you..." She aproached her friend. "Don't even think about it Aimes!" yelled Lita, backing up. "I'm not in any mood for all of your lies!" She backed up another few feet. "But Lita," said Mina. "We aren't lying." "Yes you are," Lita said angrily, still moving farther from them. "You are not fooling anybody Mina. None of you are." She turned and started to run. "Not again," sighed Luna. They chased after her. Lita slammed the door behind her. And locked it. "Lita! Lita, let us in! Come on Lita! Stop it!" She was inside her apartment now, standing near the door, listening to her friends banging outside. Maybe they do want to help, Lita thought. What if the Negaverse has gotten hold of me? Oh I can't think like this! My head, oh my head! Lita gave a small curse, then decided to let her friends in. But a sound stopped her. Lita whirled around. Nothing. No one was there. She turned back to the door... and screamed. There, standing at the door infront of her, was her mother and father. But it can't be, it just can't, she thought. They died a long time ago. They are supposed to be dead. Aren't they? "Hey, Lita! Old buddy, old pal! Let us in!" All four girls kept banging and kicking and slamming into the door. Why wasn't Lita answering them? You would think she would at least yell back. "Stop," Raye said. Everyone stopped. Serena said impatiently, "Spit it out Raye!" "I'm getting bad vibes. I think the Negaverse is around." "Y-you cannot b-b-b-be my par-parents," Lita stammered, backing away from the two images. "But we are Lita," said her mother. "Yes," said her father. "Yes, we are." Lita could not believe this. Her parents had died in a plane crash years ago. How could they be standing here, before her very eyes? Her head started hurting again. "What is it?" asked her mother. "Your head?" Lita nodded, holding her head in her hands. "You may be sick. C'mere. Let us help you." Her parents moved toward her. "Mars Power!" "Mercury Power!" "Venus Power!" "Moon Prism Power!" "What?" all three of them exclaimed at once. Then, the other Sailor Scouts came crashing through the ceiling. "What the heck are you guys doin' here?" Lita asked. "Just morph!" Venus hissed. "Fine, fine," Lita grumbled. "Jupiter Power!" Lita felt the surge of electric energy flow through her, as she transformed into the guardian of her home planet Jupiter. The two of Lita's parents looked at eachother in amazement. "She's Sailor Jupiter?" "That's right, phonies!" Mars said, pulling out her parchment. "And you two Negaverse ding-bats are going bye-bye!" "I call upon the powers of Mars! Fireballs... charge!" LIta cried out suddenly. "No! Stop Mars! They're my parents!" "What?" all the scouts said. "That's right," Lita explained. "They are not dead, as I originaly thought." She gestured to the two, who were backed up in a far corner. "Meet my mom and dad." "And that's how we escaped," Lita's father finished. "Wow," sighed Serena and Raye at the same time. "It must have been terrible," said Mina, "being trapped in that plane like that. I never would have gotten out of something like that." They were sitting in Lita's kitchen, listening to Lita's mother and dad tell their story. "I still can't believe you are actualy here." Lita suddenly felt dizzy, and pain slapped her across the head. "Lita?" Amy asked, concerned. "You okay? Is your head hurting again?" Lita shook her head. "Nope," she lied. "It's nothing. Nothing at all." She looked up and saw the look of worry on her friends' faces. "Realy. I'll be fine," she assured them. But she knew deep down that that was a lie too. She knew something was wrong... But she didn't know what. "Oh Ken," Lita sighed. "I could sit here all night." "Don't get your hopes up." She and Ken were sitting in Ken's living room, watching 'Titanic' for the hundredth time. Lita snuggled farther next to him. Ken wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "Ken?" Lita asked. "What do you think? You know, about all of this illness thing? Am I realy sick?" Ken shrugged. "Who can tell but God himself?" Lita let out a sigh. And it was not a sigh of relief. "Well. Honestly I think it's a bunch of bull. I mean, literaly. Just bull." She sighed again. Ken said, "So, your parents lived, I hear." Lita nodded. She didn't say a word. "Hey," Ken said, lifting her face to his. "I realy think you should take it easy. I don't want you getting any worse. This thing could be dangerous." "Alright." Then Ken gave her the most passionate of kisses. Lita woke up to the sound of her alarm clock. She slammed it down, then got up and got dressed for school. She didn't have time for breakfast, so Lita packed a big lunch for the day. She was already running late. As she hurried down the street to Crossroads Junior High school, Lita saw Serena running ahead of her. "Yo Serena!" Lita called. "Serena it's me! Wait up!" Serena slowed so that Lita could catch up. "You late too?" Serena asked, panting. "Uh-huh," Lita gasped. "We better get our tails in gear." Both of them sprinted off towards school. "Lita," said Lita's teacher as she made her way to her seat. "You are late again. If you keep this up, I will start deducting from your grades." Lita panted. "It won't." She pulled out her books and notepad. "Good. Turn to page 443." Lita could not concentrate at all during class. She even, for once in her life, fell asleep during math class. Of coarse, she got her butt in trouble for that. At lunch, Lita joined Amy and Serena on the roof. "How was your day Lita?" Amy asked, biting into an apple. "Aimes," Lita said. "Don't even mention it." The minute she bit into her sandwhich, Lita cried out in pain. "Lita? What's wrong?" cried Serena. "Oooow! My head! My head is killing me!" Lita held her head in her hands, rocking back and forth on her heels. "This is not good," said Serena. "This is not good at all. Not, not, not any good." "I think you have come down with a mild case of the flu." Lita was in the nurse's office, along with Amy and Serena. She still did not understand why she kept having such killer migraines. Maybe it was something she was eating... "I hope it's nothing more than that," the nurse said. "Yet, it could very possibly be... " "I... I don't wanna hear it," Lita managed to choke out. She could hardly talk. "I just want to get home and go to bed. Can I have a pass?" The nurse handed Lita a pass to go home. Amy and Serena followed her outside. Lita managed a smile. "You guys don't worry 'bout me. I will be fine. Okay?" Lita turned and headed home. What is going on around here? Lita had just arived at her front door when a noise made her jump. She turned around, but saw nothing. Why are you scaring yourself? Lita asked herself. It's only a headache. Stop acting like it's any thing more than that. A headache. Lita opened the door, and screamed. Her little apartmant was a clean and tidy little place. But now, there were books and magazines scattered all over her beautiful living area. Her polished wooden coffee table was toppled over on its side. In the kitchen, the stove was on, with a dishtowel on one of the burners, wrapped in flames. Her grandmother's china dishes layed at her feet, in a million pieces. "My god," Lita thought aloud. "What is going on here?" "She must not be home yet," Raye replied, putting down the phone. "It rang seventeen times but no one answered." The four girls, along with Darien and Ken, were sitting in Serena's room. Serena and Amy had told the others what had happened at school, about Lita, and they all agreed that something was up. "Do you think it's the Negaverse?" asked Darien. "More than likely," answered Amy. "If not that, then I'm absolutely clueless." "What about that disease?" Mina said. "You know, that thing when people get those killer migraines? But, still, Lita couldn't have that. She never gets sick." "Yeah... " Amy said, lost in thought. "I got it! What if... " "What if the Negaverse is behind this whole thing," Darien finished for her. "Right," said Amy. "And maybe, just maybe, they've gotten to her." "You think?" asked Serena. She realy hadn't been listening. She had been to busy snuggling next to Darien. "Duh, Serena!" Raye said. "What, are you deaf? It's as clear as crystal! The Negaverse has ahold of Lita. If you hadn't been so pre-occupied with Darien, you would have heard!" "You are only jealous!" Serena spat back. "Oh yeah?" "Yeah!" "Guys, guys," pleaded Darien. "Stop fighting over me." "We aren't fighting over you!" both girls yelled. "Okay, then. Just stop!" "Scouts!!!" Luna cried. "Shut the hell up so that we can decide on what to do about Jupiter." "Thank you," sighed Mina, uncovering her ears. Amy and she had done so as to block out the "Squabble Sister's" beckering. "So, how do we knock some sense into her?" "I'll try calling her place again," suggested Raye, getting the phone and dialing Lita's number. "Help! Let go of me! Hellllp! Get away!" Lita was being dragged away by two alien-like creatures. She screamed and screamed, but nobody came. "I said, get your damn hands off!" She gave one kick to the creature on her right. "Now!" "I don't think so, Lita," siad the thing. It sounded more like, "Eee zunt dunk so, Kitha." "You will be joining us soon," said the other. "Very soon." The aliens carried her towards the back. There was the fire escape back there. The two things slowly yet surely toted her down the ladder. "Let her go, Nega-slug!" came a familiar voice. All three of them, two aliens, one human, turned their heads to the voice. And there, on top of the building, stood Sailor Moon. "You heard her," came another voice. And another. Then, all of them, Sailor Mercury, Mars, Venus, Jupiter Knight and Tuxedo Mask, were closing in on the enemies. "You try it," said the alien on the left, "and we'll throw her over." Lita looked to her side. It was a sixty-feet drop from the fire escape. She was doomed. "Well, then," said Jupiter Knight flatly. "Look who's talking." With that, he jumped in the air, landing a sharp kick on the right alien. It staggered back a few steps, then fell from the ladder. It landed with a loud splat! Jupiter Knight glanced at the other Nega-creature. "You care to try?" The thing looked down at Lita, then at Jupiter Knight, then at the others. "Well," it said finaly. "Looks like if you want your friend back, you'll have to come and get her!" Then it leaped from the ladder, still carrying Lita. "LITA!" all of them shrieked. But of coarse, it was okay. The thing landed on a house next door. From there, it jumped from house to house to house, till it got to wherever it was that it needed to get to. Lita awoke in a strange, cold room. She looked down, and saw that she was tied up. Where am I? Lita asked herself. "You are here," came that creature's voice. "In the Negaverse!" Lita looked around the small, empty room. Empty? No, it was not empty. There was a tiny table in the center of the room. On it was something that looked very much like a crystal ball. On one of the far walls (which wouldn't realy be considered a far wall, because of the room's size), pictures of Queen Beryl and her generals, Nephlite, Jaedite, Zoicite, Malachite, and even a picture of Prince Darien, were up. Lita began to get that awful headache again. The Nega-thing said hoarsly, "Aw, the little baby scout have a boo-boo." Then it laughed a laugh that Lita found familiar. "Where do you think it went?" "And how the heck did it do that?" "But what about... " "And what are we... " The scouts had morphed back to normal. They were still on the roof, though, blabbering on about the Negaverse and about how they were going to save Lita. "Look," Raye said in her bossy tone, "If we are gonna save Lita we have to at least agree on some way to do so." Amy spoke then. "I agree. But, I mean, how are we supposed to get into the Negaverse? It's just not possible." They were stumped. Darien snapped his fingers. "I know." Serena turned to him. "You know what?" she asked. He said, putting his arm around her, "I know a way in. Remember back when I was working for Beryl?" Darien looked down at Serena, who was holding fiercely to his arm. "Do you mind?" Serena, a bit embarrased, dropped his arm quickly. "Um... sorry." Serena flushed a deep red. Darien rolled his eyes. "You are realy weird, you know that Meatball Head?" "Do not call me that!" "Guys," Luna said. "Don't start." Luna paced back and forth till she couldn't stand it any longer. "Well," she finaly said. "How do we get in, Darien?" Darien said casualy, "Well, here's how we do it... " "What in God's name do you want with me," Lita demanded. "Oh," spoke the Nega. "You'll see soon enough." It bent down so that it and Lita were face to face. "Very soon," it hissed. Lita turned her head from the creature's breath. Those words danced in her mind over and over. Very soon. You'll see... very soon. Soon enough. You will see soon... very... very soon. Very... There was a loud POP! from her right. Lita whirled her head around and saw her friends, the Sailor Scouts. "How did you find me?" Lita asked. Mina smiled and thumbed her finger at Tuxedo Mask. "Don't ask us, it was all planned out by Tuxy over here." Then, suddenly, the Nega-slug leaped from behind them. It landed just a couple of feet to the side of where Sailor Moon was standing. Sailor Moon, along with the rest of the girls and Tuxedo Mask, screamed at the sight. The slug was no longer a slug. It was... No, Lita thought. No. It... can't be. Can it? No. Just... NO!!! This time it wasn't an illusion. This was real. And Lita knew it. The Nega-creep, the same one that had kidnapped her and wrecked her lovely home, the same one, was also the same person who brought Lita into the world. The same one who was there when she said her first word. The same person who raised her and took care of her. The same person who died years ago... Was her mother. "Oh my dear Lord in heaven!" cried Lita. "You! It's you?" Her mother turned to her. "Yes, Lita. It is me. It's always been me." And with those last words, Lita's "dead" mom pulled a knife from her back pocket. And hurled it towards Sailor Moon. "Jupiter Power!" In seconds flat, Sailor Jupiter was cut loose of the ropes and was standing before her insane mother. "Jupiter!" cried out Venus, Mercury and Mars. "Help!" cried Sailor Moon, trying to dodge the knife as it hurtled toward her. "Jupiter Thunder... CRASH!" Her lightning bolts flew threw the air, slicing the knife in two halves. Sailor Moon removed her hands from her face. "What happened? Who won?" "Meatball Head," she heard Tuxedo Mask murmer. "I heard that!" Jupiter glanced at where her mother had been. She was gone. "Sorry about this mess," Lita sid, picking up various belongings as they tried to straighten up her apartment. "No prob," said Raye, looking at her watch. "Dangit! I have to meet Chad at the temple. See ya later fellas!" Raye darted out the door. Lita shrugged. "Well, talk about manners." She tossed some magazines onto the couch. Serena looked over at her friend. "Hey Lita?" "Mmm-hmmm?" Serena walked over to where Lita was standing, and put a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry about your parents. Them coming back, you finding out they realy weren't dead, you know." Lita looked solemnly at her. "You are?" Serena nodded. Lita sighed. "That's a first." "Hey! I am not that bad, and you know it too!" Serena stamped over to a far away corner. Lita smiled. She noticed Mina and Amy smiling too. "I know, Serena," she said. Lita thought for a moment, about something she had not thought about in a long time. "Serena? Be glad that you have parents. Because, believe me, I know, they'll come in handy sooner or later." Serena only smiled. "Out with the old, and in with the new, as my dad used to say," Lita suddenly blurted. "What's that mean?" Serena asked. Lita smiled again. "Means whatever's already happened, it's in the past. And whatever is to come in the future, well, that's in God's hands." As any fanfic author, I'd like to take the time to thank the people who helped me with this story. First of all, my sister, who let me in on some stuff about Jupiter and the scouts. Then I'd like to thank the readers, who I hope will enjoy this and my future stories on the scouts. The End
