In front of them, Aaron, his mentor, and Krista, Aaron’s wife, stopped. Frank smiled at Angie as they came to a stop, trying to look more confident than he felt. Ever since he got back from his journey to the past, he had been having dreams of an old man trying to give him something. It was the same dream every night and he still had no idea what it meant. Something rubbed against his leg. Surprised, Frank looked down to see Lunamis, the small yellow guardian cat of Angie, looking up at him. Lunamis started to say something, but stopped when he caught sight of Raye, Amy, and Chad waiting for them. "Good," Raye said upon seeing them. "Everyone else is here. Come on." Raye lead everyone to the stairs in the back of temple where Scout meetings were normally held. Aaron blinked in surprise to see Serena, who was always late for everything, already sitting on the steps. "Serena?" Angie said, "You’re here?" "Shut up," Serena muttered. "I told here the meeting was a half-hour earlier than it was," Raye explained. "Which is why she’s here on time." "It was a dirty trick," Serena muttered, turning away in a huff. Everyone laughed. "Well, any thoughts about what's been going on recently?" Luna asked, bringing the meeting to a start. "What I want to know is why Alan and Anne are involved with the generals," Raye said. "Yeah. The last time we saw them they were heading into space," Lita said. "And why did they pull out at the last second?" Ken asked, fiddling with the small crest moon necklace he now wore. "Zoycite could have killed me right there and then." "Most likely because there's someone else pulling the strings to both the generals and the aliens," Aaron said. Artemis nodded in agreement. "You're right. But who would the generals bow down to and who could get Alan and Anne to cooperate with them?" Everyone was silent. Finally, Serena said, "We also have to find away to help Darien. The police are still looking for him and Tuxedo Mask." "The only way to help him is to find Dark Mask," Greg said. "He's the only one who can clear both Darien and Tuxedo Mask," Amy agreed. "I need to leave." Frank said, surprising himself. Everyone turned their heads in surprise towards him. He just sat on the steps, staring straight ahead. "What?" Andrew said. "I have to leave," Frank repeated, standing up. "There's something I have to find. Something that will help us. I'm not sure what it is, but I know its not here." "I have to leave as well." Every head, including Frank’s, snapped around to look at Aaron. "My father is dead," Aaron said. "I have to go back to Vega to claim the throne before my cousin, Xoxan can. I don't expect anyone to come with me." "I'm going with you," Krista said, taking her husband's hand. "Vega is my home as well as yours, my love." Aaron smiled down at her. "Thank you," he said. "Go to Neflite and ask him to go with you." Everyone turned to look at Serena in amazement. "What?" Aaron said. "You heard me," Serena said as she turned to Frank. "Are you going to need help?" she asked , her voice still calm and serious. Before Frank could answer, Angie said, "I'm going with him." Frank looked at Angie in surprise as Serena smiled and said, "Chad, Greg, Amy, and Raye will also go with you." Luna looked at Artemis and said, "Just when I think she's hopeless, she goes and does something like this." Serena looked around at all of the shocked faces and said, "Anyone want some ice cream? I'm just SO hungry!" Luna's and Artemis's heads dropped in despair. ********* Frank meet Serena, Chad, Amy, Raye, Greg, Angie, and Lunamis back at Raye’s temple about an hour. Krista had managed to convince everyone’s parents that the group was going on an educational trip for awhile. "So where are we going?" Amy asked as the group gathered. Frank coughed. "Honestly, I don’t know," he said. Everyone, including Serena, looked at him in shock. "You want us to attempt a Sailor Teleport without a precise location to aim for?!" Raye said, her voice rising with each word. Frank sighed. "Look, I know it’s risky..." he started. "I’ll say it is," Serena chimed in. "You could get everyone killed." Frank shot her a look, then continued, "I’m trusting my gut here. For all I know, I may be wrong. Whatever I’m looking for may be here in Tokyo or I could be making to much of a dream." His eyes narrowed as he said, "But... my instincts tell me that I’m right, so I’m going to trust them." The others exchanged glances. "Let’s do it," Angie said. Frank smiled as everyone nodded their agreement. "Good luck," Serena said, "I’ve got to go meet Aaron and Krista." Quickly, the all said their good-byes, then Serena left. Frank looked at his companions and said, "You ready?" They nodded. "Let’s change then," Frank said, placing his hand parallel to his heart. "Sol Power!" Brilliant silver energy burst from Frank's hand, then ran up his arm, covering him in a sleek, silver coating. With a flash of silver light, Frank transformed into the silver armor and silver, flowing cape of Centurion Sol. Folding his arms, Greg said, "Regulus Power!" Twin beams of blue light shot from Greg's eyes and spun around him, transforming him into the blue armor and blue, flowing cape of Centurion Regulus. Chad placed his hands together and said, "Altair Power!" Chad's hands glowed a bright red which traveled up his arms and over the rest of his body, transforming him into the red armor and red, flowing cape of Centurion Altair. Amy pulled out her power wand and said, "Mercury Power!" In a explosion of energy and water, Amy was transformed into the blue sailor suit of Sailor Mercury. "Mars Power!" Raye shouted, thrusting her power wand into the air. In a burst of fire and energy, Raye was transformed into the red sailor suit of Sailor Mars. Grabbing her amulet, Angie said, "Sunshine Power!" Sunbeams burst forth from the sun carved on the amulet and surrounded Angie, transforming her into the yellow Scout uniform of Sailor Sunshine. The six teens joined hands as the three Sailor Scouts shouted, "Scout Teleport!" A white light enveloped the six teens and they vanished from the temple. ********* Centurion Sol spun around to survey their surroundings as they reappeared. "Where are we?" he asked. From what he could see, they had reappeared in a park, but the not the one in Tokyo or anywhere in Tokyo. There were trees that he didn’t recognize and it was night. The second fact meant they had traveled a great distance. "I think we’re in America," Centurion Regulus said from behind Centurion Sol. Centurion Sol turned around and stared up at a large, pointed stone building which he immediately recognized from pictures as the Washington Monument. "To be more specific," Amy said, "we’re in Washington, DC, the capital of the United States of America." "Why are we in America?" Centurion Altair asked. Before anyone could answer, Sailor Sunshine said, "I think we’ve attracted some attention." Everyone looked to see a crowd gathering to stare at them. Centurion Sol frowned. "We can’t stay around here, especially in costume," he said. "Sailor Mercury, would you create your smoke screen to cover us?" Sailor Mercury nodded. "Mercury Bubble Blast!" she shouted, throwing her arms out in front of her. Light blue bubbles burst from her hands, creating a heavy mist around them. "Power down," Centurion Sol ordered as he changed back into Frank, "and follow me." The others transformed into their alter egos and, silently, followed Frank out of the mist. They found a sidewalk and began to follow it, still silent. Finally, Chad said, "I’ll ask again, why are we in America?" "I would guess that whatever we’re looking for is somewhere near here," Greg answered. "But what are we looking for?" Raye asked as they reached a corner. "That," Frank said, pointing. The group turned to a bus stop with on sign on it. On the sign were five men, each dressed in medieval armor, with swords raised high in the air. At the bottom of the sign, there was something written in American. "What does it say?" Chad asked. Before Amy could answer, Frank said, "It says ‘Knights of Arthur. On display at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History for two weeks.’" Everyone looked at Frank in surprise. "You can read American?" Greg said. "I should be able to," Frank said. "I used to live here." They all stared at Frank in surprise. "I used to live in America," Frank said, "as well as many other places." "When was this?" Angie asked. "Awhile ago," Frank answered. He looked at the others in the group, "I honestly don’t want to talk about it." The others nodded and Amy said, "Shouldn’t we find some place to stay?" Frank nodded. "I know somewhere we can stay," he said. With that, he stepped off the curb and waved his hand in the air. Almost instantly, a yellow car pulled up to the curb. "Wow," Chad said. "That was fast." "Everything and everyone is fast in America, Chad," Frank said, opening the door to the car. "Everyone in." The driver looked at the six teens as they piled into his car. /Where to, kids?/ the man asked. /537 Delaware Avenue,/ Frank answered. "Where are we going?" Angie asked. "An old friend’s house," Frank answered. Chapter 2 The cab pulled up to a small, one story white house. All the lights were out. Frank opened the door and said, "Stay here guys, I going to see if he’s home." To the driver, Frank said, /I’m going to make sure this is the right house keep the meter going./ The driver nodded as Frank walked up to the front of the house and rang the bell. A light went on in ones of the rooms, then a few seconds later, the front door opened. The Scouts and Knight could see Frank talking to someone. Whoever it was went back into the house, then emerged a few seconds later and came out to the cab with Frank. Frank motioned the others to get out of the car as the man paid the cab driver. The cab driver took the money, then drove off, leaving the six teens with the man. "Guys, I would like you to meet Detective Jonathan Stanley of the Washington Police Department," Frank said. "Retired," Jonathan said in broken Japanese. He held out his hand. The others shook Jonathan’s hand as Frank made introductions. Jonathan was a huge man standing at six foot six and built like a wall. As Amy shook his hand, she was surprised to find a gentleness behind his grasp. After introductions were made, Jonathan lead them into the house. /Thank you, Jonathan,/ Frank said, in American. /Not a problem, Frank,/ Jonathan replied. There was a pause as the everyone, except Jonathan, sat down. /You’re friends can’t speak English, can they?/ /Amy can and Greg can speak a bit,/ Frank said. /But not the others./ Amy looked up at the mention of her name and said, /I am afraid that do not speak the language of English well./ Jonathan stared at Amy for a moment, then let out a deep belly laugh. The others looked at him in surprise, not understanding the exchange. /You speak better English then most Americans, my dear,/ Jonathan said. /But I believe I can give you something to help./ Jonathan turned and left the room. "What’s going on?" Raye asked. "Who is that guy?" "He’s... an old friend of my grandfather," Frank said. "He’ll be able to put us up for the next couple of nights." "Why did you call him detective?" Chad asked. "Because he used to work for the Washington police force," Frank answered. "He was the best detective on the force." "When did he retired?" Greg asked. "I don’t know," Frank said. "Last I heard he was still on active duty." "When was that?" Angie asked. "Years ago," Frank replied. The room fell silent again as Jonathan came back in. In his hands, Jonathan held several small chips. Handing them out, he said, /Here, these are on loan to me from one of my friends./ After giving one to everyone, Jonathan placed one behind his ear and said, in fluent Japanese, "Place the device behind your ear and you’ll be able to speak and understand any language." The group followed his example and soon found themselves conversing in every language known to man. /Where did you get this?/ Greg asked in English. Jonathan fidgeted for a moment, then said, /A friend of mine is an inventor./ He paused for a moment, then said, /What brings you to Washington, Frank? Last I heard, you and your grandparents were headed for England./ The group looked at Frank. /I didn’t know you had been to England,/ Angie said. /That’s because I never told you,/ Frank said simply. /As for my grandparents, I believe they’re still in England./ Jonathan frowned. /Then why aren’t you.../ At the same time, Chad said, /When did you live in England?? /They understood that I had other things to do,/ Frank said, his tone indicating that Jonathan should stop his line of inquire. The room was fell silent as every shifted uncomfortably. Finally, Jonathan said, /Well, you all welcome to stay as long as you need. You can stay down in the basement. There are sleeping bags down there and it’s pretty nice. I’m going to bed now, I have a meeting in the morning. Good-night./ With that, Jonathan stood up and left the room. A moment later, Frank stood and said, "Come on, let’s get some sleep." ********* Jonathan walked into his room, opened his closet, and pushed aside some of his clothes, revealing a small, metal plate on the back wall of his closet. When he placed his hand on the plate, a quiet voice said, /Fingerprint match confirmed./ An instant later, the back wall lifted up, allowing Jonathan to enter a small room. Inside the room was the latest in computer technology, technology that had not even been released to the public yet. As Jonathan moved into the room, the door closed silently behind him. Jonathan sat down at the computer and switched it on. As the computer hummed to life, a voice said, /Please state name for voice identification./ /Jonathan Stanley./ /Voice identification confirmed,/ the computer said as a small window appeared on the monitor. /Please type code name./ Jonathan reached forward and typed DETECTIVE on the keyboard and hit ENTER. /Code name accepted,/ the computer said. /Welcome, DETECTIVE./ /Where did you go?/ a new voice said. /An old friend appeared on my doorstep, Seer/ Jonathan replied to the unseen voice. /What’s the situation?/ /Spark and I are the Natural History Museum,/ the voice said, /Executive has pulled off another one of his heists./ /Tapping into visual link now,/ Jonathan said, pushing a few buttons. Instantly, a window appeared showing the inside of the Smithsonian Museum. /Start looking around, Blackwing,/ Jonathan ordered. /Right,/ the voice, Blackwing, said. Jonathan pushed another button and said, /Seer, I need you to look into someone for me.../ ********* Down in the basement of Jonathan’s house, the Scouts and Knights stood by as Frank routed through the closet looking for sleeping bags. "Drat," Frank muttered, "I could’ve sworn they were in here." The Scouts and Knights exchanged glances. "Frank, I think we need to talk," Angie said. "About what?" Frank asked, not looking up. "Your past," Greg said. "Apparently, there’s a lot you haven’t told us." "You never asked," Frank said, flatly. "Well, we’re asking now," Raye said. Frank pulled a sleeping bag out of the closet and tossed it over his shoulder. As Chad caught the bag, Frank said, "Found one!" Chad dropped the bag to the ground as Amy said, "Frank, we really don’t mean to pry, but we are interested in your past." "Yeah, man," Chad said, "we’re your friends." "All right, I’ll make you a deal," Frank said. "If you guys leave me alone about this, I’ll tell you about my past when we all get a moment of peace. Deal?" The group paused. "Why do I get the feeling you’re weaseling out of this?" Angie said. Frank smiled sadly. "I just don’t feel like talking about this right now," he said. "I’m sorry." "All right," Raye said, "but if you don’t tell us, I’ll..." Her voice trailed off, leaving her threat up to Frank’s imagination. "Thanks," Frank said. "Now come and help me find the sleeping bags so we can get some sleep." Chapter 3 Frank walked up the steps from the basement and into Jonathan’s kitchen. It was early, about five o’clock am, but Frank had always risen early. He walked over to the refrigerator, opened it, and got out the orange juice. Getting a glass out of a nearby cabinet, Frank poured himself a drink. "Washington," he muttered, staring out the window while he took a sip of O.J. "It had to be Washington." /Maybe it’s time you came home./ Frank turned to see Jonathan standing in the kitchen doorway. /Sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you,/ Frank said. /You didn’t. I’ve been up for a while,/ Jonathan said, taking a seat at the kitchen table. /Frank, we need to talk./ Frank seat down across from Jonathan and said, /About what?/ /Your grandfather’s dead, Frank,/ Jonathan said. /And your friends seemed surprised that you used to live in America./ /You checked up on me,/ Frank stated, sipping his orange juice. /You sounded odd last night,/ Jonathan said. /I wanted to make sure everything was all right./ He paused. /Your friends don’t know about your parents, do they?/ Frank shot him a look and said, /Hey, that would go over really big./ /What are you going to do?/ Jonathan demanded. /Hide it for the rest of your life?/ /Now that doesn’t seem like a bad idea,/ Frank said, sarcastically. /Frank, you can’t hide this forever,/ Jonathan said. /You going to have to tell him./ Frank stood up, anger etched in his face. /I am not going to tell them about my parents. Ever. And neither will you, Jonathan. Understand?/ With that, Frank turned and walked out of the kitchen, leaving Jonathan to stare after him. ********* The other Scouts and Knights entered the kitchen at about nine o’clock to find Jonathan sitting at the kitchen table. /How long have you been up?/ Angie asked. Jonathan looked up at them and said, /A couple of hours./ /Do you know where Frank is?/ Chad asked. /Outside,/ Jonathan asked, sipping his coffee. Greg glanced out the window to see Frank, fighting imaginary opponents. /Jonathan,/ Raye said, /Where do you know Frank from?/ Jonathan took a sip of his coffee. /Frank’s grandfather, George, and I worked on a case together a few years after Frank came to live with his grandfather,/ Jonathan said. /What was the case?/ Amy asked. /A rash of robberies that fit the M.O. of a criminal that George had been tracking for years,/ Jonathan said. /Did you catch him?/ Chad asked. /No,/ Jonathan answered. /He left for England just before we could get catch him. George took his wife and Frank and went after him. That was the last time I saw Frank or George... until now./ Suddenly, the back door flew open and Frank walked into the kitchen. /Good, you’re all up,/ Frank said. /We’ve got to get going, I want to get this done with so we can get back to Japan./ The Scouts and Knights exchanged glances. "Where are we going?" Angie asked. "The Smithsonian Museum of History." ********* The six teens walked through the halls of the Muesem of Natural History, looking in wonder at the various exhibits. "This is amazing," Amy said. "Japan has nothing like this." Frank smiled. "It is something else, isn’t it?" he said, glancing about. "I wish we had more time to look around," Greg said. "I would love the chance to examine a lot of the thing they have in these museums." "Maybe we’ll come back one day," Frank said, "after all of this is over." Frank lead them up to the top floor of the Muesem. "Here it is," Frank said, as they walked into a large circular room with a large stain glass skylight in the ceiling. People were all over the room, looking at the various displays set up along the walls. "So, what is it we’re looking for in here?" Angie asked. "That," Frank said, pointing to a large display case sitting directly underneath the skylight. The six teens made their way through the crowd to the center display case. Inside the case were five highly decorated swords: a broadsword with a crystal dragon in the hilt; a katana with a ruby flame in the hilt; a cutlass with an emerald lightning bolt in the hilt; a shortsword with a saphirre icicle in the hilt; and a longsword with a yellow gem in the shape of a cross on the hilt. On the top of the display case was a small sign. "What’s it say?" Chad asked. Frank picked up the sign and read, "It says: ‘These are the sword that belong to King Arthur and his four most trusted Knights. The center sword with the crystal dragon embedded in the hilt is a broadsword and said to be the famous magical sword of King Arthur: Excaliber. The first to the left of Excaliber, the katana with the ruby flames in its hilt, is said to be the sword of Sir Kay: Inferno. The first sword to the right of Excaliber, the shortsword with saphirre ice, is said to be the sword of Sir Lancelot: Icicle. Next to Icicle is a cutlass with an emerald lightning bolt in its hilt is Lightning, the fable sword of Sir Garwin. The final sword to the left of Red Flame is Holy Cross, the sword of Sir Galahad. The yellow gem in the shape of the cross is unknown to geologists.’" As Frank put down the sign, Angie said, "And these are what we’re looking for?" Frank nodded soberly. "What are we going to do?" Chad asked. "Walk up to the curator and ask to have the swords?" Raye laughed. "Or we could just break the glass," she said, smiling. Frank looked down at the glass, an odd expression on his face. "Frank, she was just kidding," Greg said. Ignoring Greg, Frank raised his hand... /If everyone would please decease in their movements, everything will be just fine./ /So please extend your arms in the air slowly and rotate to face us./ The six teens slowly raised their hands and turned around. Standing in the door was eleven men and one woman. Ten of the men wore white suits and each held a machine gun. The last man stood out, wearing a black suit and a pair of glasses. In his right hand, he held a gun and in his left, he held a black briefcase. Next to the man in the black suit stood a women in a black business dress, poised to take notes on a notepad. /Who are you?/ someone in the room demanded. /I am the Executive,/ the man in the black suit said. He indicated the woman next to him as he continued, /This is my Assistant. We are here to relive the museum of a few of their exhibits./ "We have to do something," Raye muttered. "Should we risk changing?" Greg muttered. "In front of all these people?" Chad mumbled. Angie turned slight to look at Frank, who was being unusually quiet. She was shocked to see him staring at the Executive and the Assistant, his face white as ash. "Frank?" she hissed, trying to get his attention. One of the men in white pointed his machine gun at them and said, /Shut up, kids./ The Executive glanced about then said, /Temps, please begin the process of gathering the displays and make sure to get both the book and the medallion./ /Yes, sir,/ all of the men in white replied. Amy glanced at the others, "We have to do it," she said, pulling out her wand. "Mercury..." Suddenly, the skylight shattered and two figures dropped into the room. People screamed and ran from the falling glass. Chad grabbed Amy and Angie as Greg grabbed Raye and the still dazed Frank, pulling them out of the way as the glass came crashing down around. Amy glanced up to see a tall man and a young girl standing on the display case. He dressed in a black, skin-tight costume with a long, black cape flowing out behind him and a black face-mask that showed no features. Behind the man in black was a young girl dressed in bright yellow, skin-tight pants; a fire red shirt with white lightning running from shoulder to waist; a black eye-mask; and a black leather jacket. "What are they?" Chad whispered. /It’s Blackwing!/ one of the Temps shouted. /And don’t forget Spark!/ the girl shouted as the duo leaped into the air. The girl, Spark, and the man, Blackwing, landed in the center of the Temps as the Executive shouted, /Get them!/ "We’ve got to help them," Chad said. Amy nodded her agreement. "Let’s transform," she said. "Wait." The others all turned to look at Greg who was laying Frank on the ground and leaning him up against a wall. "I don’t know what’s wrong with him," Greg said. Amy knelt down next to Frank and did a quick examination. "He seems to have gone into some sort of shock," she said, her voice filled with concern. "You guys transform, I’ll tend to him." Angie stared at Frank. "Is he going to be all right?" she asked. "He should be," Amy said, reassuringly. "Now get going and give those two a hand." "Right," Raye said. "Mars Power!" "Sunshine Power!" shouted Angie. "Regulus Power!" Greg yelled. "Altair Power!" Chad said. In a flash of light, energy, and fire, the four teens transformed into the Sailor Scouts and the Star Knights. /Hold it, scumbags,/ Sailor Mars said, jumping in front of the Temps. At that moment, all motion stopped as everyone turned to stare at the Scouts and Knights. /Who are you?/ the Executive demanded. /I am Sailor Mars!/ /I am Sailor Sunshine!/ /I am Centurion Altair!/ /I am Centurion Regulus!/ /We are the Sailor Scouts and the Star Knights!/ the four teens shouted in unison. No one moved. /Are you getting this, Seer?/ Blackwing muttered. Executive blinked. /Right,/ he said slowly. Shaking his head, he continued, /Well, we will take care of you as well. Temps, attack!/ Four Temps broke off from the group fighting Blackwing and Spark and headed towards the four teens. "Try not to use your powers," Centurion Regulus said. "These are humans." ********* Jonathan leaned forward to stare at the computer screen in front of him. /Who are they?/ he said. /Are you getting this, Seer?/. a deep baritone voice said, coming from the computer. /I’m getting it, Blackwing,/ Seer answered. /I don’t know what it is, but I’m getting it./ /Hold on,/ Jonathan said. /Seer, play back time segment 00:00:37 to 00:02:10./ /What’s up, Detective?/ another voice asked. /I don’t know, Tech. Maybe nothing,/ Jonathan said as the time segment appeared on the screen. /Replay and slow it down to one-fourth time, Seer./ The segment instant restarted, moving even slower this time. Jonathan touched the screen in several spots. /Computer, save these profiles under suspects one through six./ /Saved./ the computer said. /Seer, feed me the view from all the cameras on Blackwing’s suit,/ Jonathan said. /No problem, Detective,/ Seer’s voice said. Instantly, several camera-views appeared on Jonathan’s screen. /Computer, run a continuous scan of all screens for the profiles of suspects one through six./ /Two matches found./ the computer answered after a second. /Which two?/ Jonathan asked. /Suspects three and five./ /Current location?/ /Five meters from the fighting. Suspect five is currently giving suspect three a rudimentary medical examination./ Jonathan fought down a wave of panic. /What about the other suspects?/ /Not current in Blackwing’s location./ /Scan entire time segment from 0:00:00 until now for the exit of suspects one, two, four, and six./ /Scanning... no exit vector found./ /So they never left?/ /Affirmative./ /Interesting.../ Jonathan muttered. ********* Dad? Frank thought, just before his world went dark. For a moment, a very brief moment, Frank panicked. But then, he regained control of himself and fought down the panic. He tried to talk, but he found his mouth wouldn’t respond. A quick experiment told him that he couldn’t move any part of his body, nor could he see or hear anything outside of his body. I’ve gone into shock, he thought. Probably from seeing my father and my mother. His mind raced. I don’t want to face them, so subconsciously I must have used that trick my grandfather showed me to put myself into a state of shock, Frank thought. So by sheer force of will, I should be able to... "FRANK!" Frank sat up and took a deep breath . "Frank." Frank glanced up to see Amy kneeling over him. "Thank God," she said. "Are you all right?" "I’m fine," Frank answered, forcing himself to stand. "What’s going on?" "The others are helping out the two that dropped in though the skylight," Amy said. "What happened to you?" Frank ignored her and scanned the room. The fight was going well. Blackwing and his partner, Spark, were well trained and making short work of a couple of the Temps. The Scouts and Knights were holding their own against the Temps, but... /Where’s the Executive and the Assistant?/ Frank said. A gun cocked next to Frank’s head. /You know, I thought I saw a familiar face in the crowd,/ the Executive said, stepped out of the shadows. /Son./ Amy stared at Executive, then looked at Frank and said, /Son? But you said.../ Suddenly, the Assistant stepped up and grabbed Amy from behind, placing a pen against her throat. /This pen is actually a laser,/ she said. /Unless you want a new hole to breath though, I’d shut up./ Frank tensed, torn between what he wanted to do and what he should do. Executive smiled and shouted, /Dear Blackwing, I suggest you cease struggles against my men unless you want this young man to find his life suddenly terminated./ Blackwing, Spark, Knights, and Scouts all looked over to see Executive holding a gun to Frank’s head and stopped fighting. /Now, form a straight line against that far wall./ The six heroes obeyed, grim looks on each of their faces. Executive looked at the Temps and said, /Collect all of the antiquities quickly and let us remove ourselves from the scene./ /Hey, Boss,/ one of the Temps shouted, /What about these swords?/ The Executive glanced over at the Temp and nodded. /Take them, the jewels embedded in their hilts will bring us a small fortune on the market./ A few minutes later, the Temps had gathered all of the exhibits. Handing his gun over to one of the Temps, Executive walked over to the center display case and placed his briefcase on top of it. /I assumed you would sow up, Blackwing, so I came prepared. This is a highly complex bomb set to go off in five minutes. It should be enough to keep you busy while my associates and I make good our escape./ With that, the Executive turned to the Temps and the Assistant and said, /Bring the boy and girl, we are making our exit./ ********* As soon as the Executive had left, Blackwing raced and opened up the briefcase. /How do I disarm this?/ he said. /I don’t know,/ Centurion Regulus said, looking over Blackwing’s shoulder, /I’ve never seen anything like it./ /Shut up,/ Blackwing growled at Centurion Regulus, pushing him away. Centurion Regulus stumbled back and glanced over his shoulder at the others. /Don’t worry, he’s always like that,/ Spark said. Everyone was silent as Blackwing stood in front of the bomb, unmoving. Finally, he reached down and pulled one of the wires. /There’s its disarmed,/ Blackwing said. /Wow,/ Centurion Altair said. /Let’s go after the bad guy,/ Sailor Mars said, moving forward. /Yeah!/ Sailor Sunshine agreed. /He’s long gone,/ Blackwing said. /He had a helicopter waiting for him on the roof./ /Why didn’t you damage the helicopter?/ Sailor Sunshine demanded. /I didn’t realize that it was his,/ Blackwing replied. /But when I heard the helicopter take off after he left, I made the connection./ Suddenly, the sound of running drifted into the room. Blackwing looked at the Scouts and Knights and said, /We will meet again./ With that, Blackwing and Spark threw two grapple up and climbed through the skylight. Centurion Regulus looked at the others and said, "We had better change back." "What about Frank?" Sailor Sunshine asked. "We’ll find him," Greg promised as they change back, "I promise." Chapter 4 Greg, Raye, Angie, and Chad walked back to Jonathan’s house in silence. Finally, Angie said, "What are we going to do?" "I don’t know," Greg answered, shortly. "When we get to Jonathan’s house, I’ll mediate and try to get a vision for the future." "A fire reading would be better," Raye said. "But the future will tell us exactly where they are," Greg said, "not just give us some vague impression." "But the future is always changing," Raye said. "I’d rather have a vague impression than something that can change at a moment’s notice." Greg was about to say something in reply, when Chad stepped in between them. "Enough!" he said. "You can both do your representative thing. But let’s not fight." Greg and Raye locked gazes, then nodded. "We’re at Jonathan’s, guys," Angie said, quietly. Greg opened the door to the house and lead them all in. Angie blinked twice. Jonathan had rearranged the living room while they were gone. Now a lone chair sat against the far wall of the room, which Jonathan now sat in, and the only light came from the opened door. The four teens stood in the center of the room facing Jonathan. For a moment, neither moved. Finally, Greg said, /Jonathan, what’s going on?/ Behind them, the door slammed behind them, plunging the room into almost total darkness. Chad and Raye spun to see two figures moving towards them. /What’s going on?/ Raye demanded. /That’s just what I was going to ask,/ one of the figures said. Angie gasped as the two figures stepped into the dim light. /Blackwing and Spark,/ she said. /That’s right, Angie,/ Jonathan said, stepping forward. /And we know that you’re the Sailor Scouts and the Star Knights, what we want now is information./ ********* One of the Temps shoved Frank and Amy into a small, dark room. "The boss will get to later," the Temp said as he closed the door. Frank walked over to the door and tried the handle. "It’s locked," he stated. "The Executive is your father?" Amy said. Frank didn’t answer, instead he ran his hand along the wall. "Feels like some type of steel, but it’s giving off this weird feeling," he said. Amy wasn’t going to be put of the subject though. "You’re his son?" she said. Still ignoring her, Frank placed both hands on the wall, his back to Amy, and said, "I’m going to try my powers to get us..." "FRANK!" Amy shouted. "Is he your father?" Frank let his arms drop and took a deep breath. "Yes, he is. And the Assistant is my mother." "Why didn’t you tell us?" Frank turned to look at her. "Tell you?" he said. He was still not facing her. "That would have gone over big. ‘Hey, everyone, my father’s a thief and murder.’" "Frank, we won’t have held that against you," Amy said, placing a hand on his shoulder. Frank sighed. "I know that now," he said. "But I didn’t know that then. I didn’t you then." He turned to look at her. "I guess you deserve to know exactly what’s going," he said. "You should get comfortable, this may take a while." Amy sat down on the floor as Frank started. ********* George got off the plane at Washington Airport and looked around. /Grandpa,/ a young voice said. George turned around and lifted up his six year old grandson, Frank. /What’s up, sport?/ he said. /Are we going to go the Muesem now?/ Frank asked. /Not right now, Frank,/ George’s wife, Martha, said, coming up behind them. /Your grandfather has work to do./ /George Carlon?/ a new voice said. George turned to see a young man wearing blue jeans, a gray T-shirt, and a green wind-breaker. The man was about George’s height and twice his width, looking like a small bull, with neatly comb blond hair. /That’s me,/ George said. The big man smiled and opened his wind-breaker slightly to reveal a police badge. /I’m Detective Jonathan Stanley of the Washington D.C. Police Department,/ he said. /I‘ve been assigned to your case./ ********* /That’s how I meet Frank’s grandfather,/ Jonathan said, leading the four teens, along wit Blackwing and Spark, through a maze of tunnels underneath his house. /Was George a cop?/ Chad asked. /No,/ Jonathan answered. /He was a private investigator. He had been tracking a criminal mastermind through the states known as the Executive./ The four teens glanced at each other in surprise as Jonathan nodded. /Yep,/ he said, /it’s the same man just older. Well, the Executive had a record a mile long and George was the best authority on him, so the WPD figured it would be good to help him out. But George never told me that the Executive was.../ ********* "...my father," Frank said, starting to pace around the small room. "I thought he was just another crook that my grandfather was tracking down." "When did you find out?" Amy asked. "Years later in England," Frank said. "My grandfather was a constant pain in the ass to my father, hounding him from one end of the globe to the other." Frank paused. "I never did know where we got the money to do that." "Did your grandfather ever catch up with your father?" Amy asked. "Yes..." ********* /...he did,/ Jonathan said, flipping on a light switch to reveal another set of tunnels. /More tunnels?/ Chad moaned. /I’m taking you the long way, so that I can tell you this story,/ Jonathan said. /You were saying about George and the Executive?/ Raye prompted. /Right,/ Jonathan said, /the one time was with me here in Washington./ ********* /Freeze, Executive!/ Jonathan yelled, holding his gun out. The Executive turned to stare at Jonathan. /Oh, no,/ Executive said. /There is no way you got this close to me without George Carlon’s help. Now where is he?/ /I’m right here,/ George said, appearing behind Executive. The Executive smiled at the sound of George’s voice and turned to face him. /Wonderful, George, so glad you could make it,/ the Executive said. /Now I have a chance to fulfill the curse./ /What curse?/ Jonathan demanded. /You mean you didn’t tell him... father?/ the Executive said, smiling sinisterly as Jonathan’s eyes widen in surprise. /The offspring of a Carlon will, by accident or design, grow to kill their father. Now its my turn./ Suddenly, a gun appeared in the Executive’s hand and he fire a shot at Jonathan. At the same instant, the Assistant charged Jonathan, throwing him off-balance. George leaped aside as the gun was fired and the bullet missed him. In the next second, both the Assistant and the Executive got away. ********* "...and that’s Jonathan found out about my heritage," Frank said. "And you found out in England?" Amy asked. Frank nodded. "Executive got tried of his father hounding him, so he broke into our house one night and killed both my grandfather and my grandmother in front of me." Frank closed his eyes at the memory. "About a month after that I meet James and began training. A year later, I meet you guys." Amy stood up and moved over to him. "I’m sorry," Amy said, hugging him. "I can’t imagine the pain you feel." Frank hugged her back, then broke off. "Yeah, well, let’s just get out of here," Frank said. Amy smiled at him and said, "Right. Mercury Pow..." Suddenly, the door flew opened and a Temp stepped inside. "The boss wants to see you now," he said. ********* /That’s all I know about Frank’s history,/ Jonathan said. /If you want to know more, you’ll have to ask Frank./ /I can’t believe Frank’s father is a crook,/ Greg said. /Couldn’t your future sense tell you that?/ Raye demanded. /It tells me what happens in the future, not the past,/ Greg snapped back. /Guys, please,/ Angie said, intervening before the fight got out of hand. Jonathan stopped suddenly. /This is it,/ he said, opening a small metal door. The four teens stepped thorough the door in a large, once abandoned, subway station which had been convert into a headquarters. Computers, vechiles, and gadgets filled the station now. /Wow,/ Angie breathed. /Welcome,/ Jonathan said, coming in behind them, /to the headquarters of the BWO./ Chapter 5 Jonathan lead the four teens down a set of stairs as he said, /The Blackwing Organization, or BWO, was formed by the United States government to fight the increasing crime rate in Washington without the loads of red tape holding back the police department. I was recited while it was being formed a few years after I met George. Besides the members of BWO, only four people know of it’s association with the government./ /This is unbelievable!/ Greg exclaimed, looking around. At the bottom of the stairs, both Blackwing and Spark broke off from the group and went into another room. /Jonathan,/ a voice said, /who are these people?/ /Jennifer, these are the four that assisted us at the museum,/ Jonathan said. /Greg, Raye, Chad, Angie, I liked you to meet Jennifer Nicole, our resident technician and inventor. She created everything Blackwing uses in his crimefighting./ Jennifer stepped forward and extended her hand. She was average height and thin, with blond hair tied up in a blue bandanna. She was wearing blue overalls and a white T-shirt. /Its a pleasure to meet fellow crimefighters,/ she said. /What? No introductions for me?/ a another voice said. Jonathan laughed and said, /And this is Michael Magners, our resident computer expert and driver on the information super highway./ A man stepped forward and bowed slightly. He was tall with short, neatly combed brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans and gray T-shirt. /Seer, at your service,/ he said, with a smile. /Now to the task at hand,/ Jonathan said. /How do we find the Executive?/ /I can do a fire reading,/ Raye said. /I can read the future,/ Greg said, simultaneously. The two shot glares at each other once more and looked as if they were going t o go at it when Michael said, /I actually I don’t think either will be necessary./ /What?/ the two said, turning to look at him in astonishment. /Can either of the two capture transform like you guys did at the Muesem?/ Michael asked. /Yes, both of them can,/ Angie said. /And would they transform if they got a chance?/ Michael asked. /Yeah,/ Chad said. Michael went over to the wall and pulled off one of the many gadgets. It was a small cylinder, about foot long, with a red sensor on the top. Pushing a button on the cylinder, Michael said, /Would you mind transforming?/ /What good will that do?/ Raye demanded. /Just do it,/ Jennifer said as Michael aimed the cylinder at Raye, /I think I see where he’s heading./ /Fine,/ Raye said, /Mars Power!/ Flames burst out of Raye’s power wand, swirling around her and transforming her into the red and white faku of Sailor Mars. /Someone mark this down,/ Michael said, looking down at the device, /175.3 joules./ /What was that?/ Sailor Mars demanded. /That was the energy output of your transformation,/ Jonathan said as he wrote down the number. /I get it,/ Angie said. /You’re going to track them down by the energy they use to transform./ /Exactly,/ Michael said, leveling the cylinder at Angie. /You’re turn./ /Sunshine Power!/ Sunbeams burst forth from the sun carved on the amulet and swirled around Angie, transforming her into the yellow faku of Sailor Sunshine. /175.1 joules,/ Michael said. /Why did my transformation take less energy than Sailor Mars?/ Sailor Sunshine asked. /Without running a ton of experiments on the both of you, I wouldn’t be able to tell you,/ Michael said. /It may have to do with height, weight, power level, or nothing at all./ He pointed the cylinder at Greg. /Your turn./ /Regulus Power!/ Twin beams of blue light shot from Greg's eyes and spun around him, transforming him into the blue armor and blue, flowing cape of Centurion Regulus. /175.4 Joules,/ Michael said as trained the device on Chad. /Altair Power!/ Chad's hands glowed a bright red for a split-second, then the glow traveled up his arms and over the rest of his body, transforming Chad into the red armor and red, flowing cape of Centurion Altair. /175.3 Joules,/ Michael said, switching off the device. He took the paper with the numbers on it from Jonathan and moved over to his computer. /Now, I’ll just tell the computer to alert us when someone gives an output of energy from within 175.0 to 175.9. The computer will then be able to give us an exact position of your friends./ /So we just sit here and wait?/ Centurion Altair asked. /Unless you have a better idea,/ Michael said with a shrug. /I’m going to go do a fire reading,/ Sailor Mars said, storming off. /And I’m going to try to see the future,/ Centurion Regulus said, moving off in the opposite direction. Sailor Sunshine sighed and looked at Centurion Altair in exasperation. "Isn’t this wonderful?" she said. ********* Centurion Regulus laid back on the floor and closed his eyes. Taking a deep breath, he focused his thoughts on Frank and Amy and willed their futures to him. A minute later, his eyes opened in shock. "Oh, no," he said, leaping to his feet. "I have to warn the others." ********* Sailor Mars sat cross-legged in front of the fire, closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Folding her hands in front of her, Sailor Mars said, "Great Fire, show me Frank and Amy." She stared at the fire for a moment, her eyes widening in shock. "I have to tell everyone," she said, quickly getting to her feet and running out of the room. ********* Frank and Amy were lead from the room to a large office like-room where the Executive and the Assistant were waiting for them. Executive was now wearing the amulet that he had stolen and the book was on the desk in front of him. /Where are the swords?/ Frank demanded. /The swords? They’re out in the warehouse,/ Executive answered as Assistant walked over to Frank and pinched his cheek. /Hasn’t our little boy grown up well, honey?/ she said. /Mary, leave him alone,/ Executive said. /Can’t you see he’s not too happy to see us?/ Frank looked from one to the other. /Let us go,/ he said. /Or you’re going to regret it./ /Oooo... the little guy’s got a lot of spunk,/ Executive said. /No, I don’t think I’ll be letting you go. I plan to stop the curse of killing the parents by killing the son./ Frank didn’t flinch. /Fine, but her go,/ he said, indicating Amy. Assistant smiled. /I’m sorry, honey, but you’re both going to have to die./ Frank looked from the Assistant to the Executive. /What if I told you I have something that can help you?/ Executive pulled out his gun and said, /Like what?/ Frank glanced at Amy, then said, /First, you have to promise me that if you like it, you won’t harm her./ /Agreed,/ Executive said. /But if I don’t, I’ll shoot her first./ Frank nodded and moved his hand so that it was parallel to his heart. "Sol Power," Frank said quietly. Brilliant silver energy burst from Frank's hand, then ran up his arm, covering him in a sleek, silver coating. With a flash of silver light, Frank transformed into the silver armor and silver, flowing cape of Centurion Sol. Executive smiled and lowered the gun. /I like it,/ he said, simply. Chapter 6 /We’ve got an energy signature!/ /Where is it?/ Blackwing said, striding forward. /Towards the outskirts of town,/ Michael said. /An exact address is downloading to the car now./ Blackwing nodded, then said, /Let’s move, Spark./ /Not without us,/ Sailor Sunshine said, stepping in front of them. /I’ll be faster and more efficient without you,/ Blackwing said. /Actually you have to take us./ Blackwing turned to see Centurion Regulus standing behind him. /What do you mean?/ Blackwing growled. /My vision of the future showed Frank fighting you,/ he said, /as Centurion Sol./ "That’s impossible!" Sailor Sunshine shouted, forgetting to speak in English. "Frank would never fight against us!" /I’m afraid Centurion Regulus is right,/ Sailor Mars said, coming up to them. /My fire reading showed Frank revealing his powers to Executive./ /But we don’t have all the facts,/ Jonathan said. /Frank may have no choice in what he’s doing. Now what do we know?/ /There was only one energy signature,/ Michael said, /which means only one of them transformed./ /And since both Sailor Mars and Centurion Regulus both saw Frank as Centurion Sol, then he must have been the one that transformed,/ Centurion Altair said. /And that means Amy still hasn’t transformed into Sailor Mercury,/ Sailor Mars said. /Right,/ Jonathan said. /So, Frank might be offering his services as Centurion Sol to protect Amy./ /Which means we have to save Amy to stop Frank,/ Blackwing said. He paused. /Here’s the plan./ ********* The door to the warehouse exploded inward at the force of Blackwing’s kick and crashed to the ground as Blackwing, Centurion Altair and Sailor Sunshine entered. The warehouse was dark and seemingly deserted. /Where.../ Centurion Altair started. Blackwing shot him a look that silenced him immediately, then lead the way deeper into the warehouse. Suddenly, the warehouse was filled with light. /I knew you’d be here sooner or later, Blackwing,/ the Executive’s voice said, seemingly coming from every where. /And I’ve prepared a surprise for you./ Out of the shadows stepped twenty men dressed in white business suits, forming a circle around the trio. And directly in front of them stood Centurion Sol. /Attack!/ Executive’s voice boomed. As the Temps charged, Blackwing produced five spiked stars and threw them. The stars snagged the suit of one of the Temps with such force that they pulled him back to the wall, pinning him there. One of the Temps took a swing at Sailor Sunshine, who ducked and punched the Temp in stomach. As the Temp doubled up, Sailor Sunshine delivered a swift kick to his face, sending him crashing to the floor. Centurion Altair dodged a blow from a Temp, then struck him on the back of the neck with a karate chop. He blocked an attack from another Temp, the uppercutted him, sending the Temp sprawling on the floor. Behind Centurion Sol appeared Executive. /Why don’t you join the battle?/ he asked. Centurion Sol looked at him and said, /Only if your men fail will I fight my friends./ ********* The backdoor to the warehouse opened silently as Spark, Sailor Mars, and Centurion Regulus crept in. They were in a long darken corridor with several doors on both sides. Spark motioned the other two to follow her as she crept towards the first door. Spark tried the knob first, only to find it was locked. Pulling out her lockpicks, Spark made quick work of the lock, only to find that the room beyond was empty. Leaving the door slightly ajar, the trio went to the next door on repeated the process, only to yield the same results. The same was found on the next two doors as well. Finally, the fifth door opened to reveal Amy, tried and gagged in the center of the room. /There she is,/ Centurion Regulus said, starting forward. Spark caught his arm. /Wait a minute,/ she said. /This is a trap./ /How do you know?/ Sailor Mars asked. Spark turned her head and stared at Sailor Mars. /She’s unguarded in the middle of a dark room,/ she said. /Why do you think that is?/ Sailor Mars cringed in embarrassment as Centurion Regulus said, /We can’t just leave her there./ Spark thought for a moment. /All right,/ she said, /I’ll go in and get her. If anything happens come in and give me a hand./ /Right,/ the two said in unison. Spark slowly slipped into the room, making almost no noise. Upon reaching Amy, Spark put a finger to her lips and removed the gag covering Amy’s mouth. /I’m a friend,/ she whispered. /I’m here to get you out of here./ Amy nodded as Spark pulled out a switch-blade and cut loose Amy’s hands and feet. /Come on,/ Spark said, helping Amy to her feet. Just before they reached the door, a bars popped out of the floor, trapping them in a quickly made cage. Centurion Regulus and Sailor Mars ran into the room as the Assistant’s voice said, /Well, I didn’t get all of you as I hoped, but you two will do./ /We wouldn’t be in here long,/ Amy said. /Mercury Power!/ Water-like energy burst from Amy’s power wand, swirling around her and transforming her into the blue and white faku of Sailor Mercury. Assistant laughed as Sailor Mars and Centurion Regulus reached the cage. /Go ahead, try anything you want,/ Assistant said. /That cage’s been reinforced by magic from Merlin’s book./ /Back up,/ Sailor Mars commanded, ignoring the voice. /I’ll melt the bars with my fire./ Folding her hands together, Sailor Mars shouted, /Mars Fire Ignite!/ Fire erupted from Sailor Mar’s hands, engulfing the bars of the cage. But when the flames subsided, the bars were still intact. /What in...?/ Sailor Mars said, staring at the bars. /My flames should have melted them./ Sailor Mercury thought for a moment. /As well as stealing the swords, Executive also stole a book,/ she said. /The Book of Merlin./ /Hey, so?/ Spark said. /We have outside information that the swords are magical,/ Sailor Mercury said. /And since the swords are magical, we could make the same assumption about the book./ /Which would mean that Assistant is telling the truth about the cage,/ Centurion Regulus said. /And why would I lie?/ Assistant asked. /Now we have the leverage we need./ ********* Assistant appeared behind Executive and whispered something in his ear. Executive smiled and shouted, /Temps, back down./ Instantly, the remaining Temps backed away from the three combatants. /So, you’ve decided to give up have you, Executive?/ Blackwing said. /Of course not, my dear Blackwing,/ Executive said with a laugh, /but I do have a new business arrangement for us. I have your partner and my son’s friend now./ /What do you want?/ Blackwing said though gritted teeth. /I want you and my son to fight, to the death,/ Executive said. /If you win, I will release Spark and kill his friend. If my son wins, I will kill Spark and release his friend./ /How do we know you have them?/ Centurion Altair demanded. Executive produced the book he had stolen, opened it up, and said, /Nobis Nacu!/ In a flash of white light, the cage with Sailor Mercury and Spark in it appeared along with Sailor Mars and Centurion Regulus. /Satisfied?/ Executive said. /Very,/ Centurion Sol said, turning to Blackwing. Raising his hands, he shouted, /Sol Star Blast!/ Silver energy burst from his hands and shot towards Blackwing. Blackwing somersaulted over the blast and threw a bladed boomerang at Centurion Sol. Centurion Sol sidestepped the boomerang and shouted, "Find the swords!" Centurion Altair and Sailor Sunshine rushed over to Centurion Regulus and Sailor Mars. "The swords must be around here somewhere," Centurion Regulus said, "but where?" Sailor Mercury turned on her visor and quickly scanned the room. "There," she said, pointing. "There’s an unusual energy pattern coming from over there." "Right," Centurion Altair said as he and Centurion Regulus ran to where Sailor Mercury had pointed. Sailor Sunshine looked at Sailor Mars. "I’m going to see if I can do anything about Executive," she said, taking off. Sailor Mercury glanced at the bars. "Sailor Mars, I think we can overrun the magic enforcing these bars," she said. "How?" Sailor Mars asked. "If we hit the bars with both of our powers at once we may be able to overload the magic and destroy the bars," Sailor Mercury explained. "Well, do it!" Spark said. The two Scouts looked at Spark in surprise. She smiled and tapped just behind her ear. "I’ve got one of those devices two," she said. ********* Centurion Sol crashed to the ground and groaned. /You’re good,/ he said as he stood up to face Blackwing again. /If we both survive this, I’d love to take some lessons./ "Let’s survive this first," Blackwing said. "Any ideas?" "You speak Japanese?" Centurion Sol asked. Blackwing nodded. "Well, let’s good, but I still have no idea what to do." He blocked a swing from Blackwing and took a swing back. "My friends will help." Blackwing dodged the swing and said, "My team has no clue. So we’re on our own." "Wonderful," Centurion Sol muttered, lashing out Blackwing again. ********* "This is where Sailor Mercury said they were," Centurion Regulus said. Centurion Altair tapped the wall that Amy had indicated. "This is hollow," he said. "No time to figure out how to open it," Centurion Regulus said. "Then let’s take the direct approach," Centurion Altair said with a smile. "Altair Star Blast!" Red energy exploded from Centurion Altair’s hands, blowing a huge hole in the false wall and revealing the five swords. Instinctively, the two Knights reached out to grabbed two of the swords. As soon as they touched them, the swords vanished and the two powered down. "What the...?" Chad said. Greg looked at him and smiled. "I think it’s time we upgrade," Greg said. Thrusting his hand into the air, "Regulus Ice Power!" Instantly Lancelot’s shortsword, Icicle, appeared in his hand. Blue ice-like energy burst from the sapphire icicle on the hilt of the sword, wrapping around Greg, encasing him in a block of ice. With a single movement, the shattered, revealing Centurion Regulus in his icy blue armor and cape. "Awesome," Chad said. Thrusting his out in front of him, Chad shouted, "Altair Flame Power!" Instantly, Sir Kay’s katana, Inferno, appeared in Chad’s hand. Red fire-like energy exploded from the ruby flame on the hilt of the sword. The flames encircled Chad, creating a vortex around him. With a wave of the hand the flames vanished, revealing Centurion Altair in his fiery red armor and cape. ********* Sailor Sunshine stepped in front of Executive. /You’re going down, Executive,/ she said. /Listen, little girl,/ Executive said, /if I am going down, you are not going to be the one to take me down./ /I am not a little girl!/ Sailor Sunshine said, striking Sailor Moon’s normal speech-pose. /I am Sailor Sunshine, champion of love of justice. In the name of Sun, I right wrongs and triumph over evil. And that means you./ /Lovely speech,/ Executive said, sarcastically, /and I love the costume as well. I can see why my son chooses to hang out with you ladies./ He sighed. /But I’m afraid that I do not have the time to deal with you, but my Assistant on the other hand.../ As if on cue, Assistant stepped in front of Sailor Sunshine and delivered a right into her stomach. Sailor Sunshine doubled over and Assistant uppercutted, snapping her back up. Sailor Sunshine stumbled back and shook her head. /All right, that does it,/ Sailor Sunshine muttered, stepping forward and delivering a right into Assistant’s face. As Assistant stumbled back, Sailor Sunshine brought her hands and shouted, /Sunshine Super Sparkle!/ Golden sparks shot out of Sailor Sunshine’s hands engulfing Assistant, who screamed in pain and dropped to the floor, unconscious. Suddenly, two voices sounded through the warehouse: /Mercury Ice Bubble Blast!/ /Mars Firebird Strike!/ Executive spun to his right to see the cage vanishing in an explosion of energy and Sailor Mercury. Sailor Mars, and Spark start towards him. He looked to his left, looking for a way to escape, only to find Centurion Regulus and Centurion Altair running towards him. In front of him, Centurion Sol and Blackwing came to stand by Sailor Sunshine. /It’s over, Executive,/ Blackwing said. /Not yet,/ Executive said, flipping open the Book of Merlin. /I know how to stop you. Sahine Twaos Fihnos Snakles Nobis!/ Just as he finished, Sailor Sunshine leaped forward knocking the book from his hand and pulling the amulet from around his neck. The instant she touched it though, Sailor Sunshine reverted to back to Angie. /You fool!/ Executive shouted, not noticing the change, /You’ve disrupted the spell! I won’t be able to control it!/ /Control what?/ Centurion Sol demanded. As if in answer, there was a flash of light and a large centaur-like creature. /That!/ Executive shouted, pushing past Centurion Regulus and Centurion Altair and running in terror. /You get Executive,/ Centurion Sol ordered, glancing at Blackwing and Spark, /We’ll take care of this thing./ Blackwing nodded his agreement and took off after Executive. ********* Centurion Sol looked at his companions and said, "Everyone ready?" "Almost," Angie said, hanging the amulet around her neck on impulse. Grabbing the Sun Amulet, Angie shouted, "Sun Amulet Power!" Golden energy burst from the Sun Amulet, forming a heart of energy around her and transforming her in Sailor Sunshine. "Now I’m ready," Sailor Sunshine said. "Let’s do it," Centurion Regulus said. Drawing his new sword, Icicle, and pointing it the centaur, Centurion Regulus shouted, "Regulus Icicle Burst!" Shards of ice exploded from the tip of Icicle, slicing though it. The creature roared in pain, but continued coming. "I think we may be in trouble," Centurion Regulus said, backing away. "Let me try," Sailor Mars said. "I’m with you," Centurion Altair said. "Mars Fire Ignite!" Fire erupted from Sailor Mars’s hands, flying at the creature. "Altair Inferno Beam!" Flames shot out of Centurion Altair’s hands, adding to Sailor Mars’s fire. The two sets of flames engulfed the centaur, burning it to a cider. "Got it!" Sailor Mars shouted. "All right," Centurion Altair said, giving Centurion Regulus a high-five. "Ah, guys?" Sailor Mercury said, causing them to look back. The still hot ashes were swirling up and reforming back into the creature. "Ok, that didn’t work," Sailor Sunshine said. "Sailor Mercury, scan the thing and figure out what we can do to stop it," Centurion Sol commanded. "The rest of you... scatter!" The demon roared, spitting flames from its mouth, and charged the six companions as they separated. Sailor Mercury tapped her earring, bring her visor into existence. She glanced at the creature and shouted, "This thing doesn’t have any weaknesses!" "Wonderful," Centurion Sol muttered. He glanced at Centurion Altair and said, "Where did you find those swords?" "Over here," Centurion Altair responded, quickly leading Centurion Sol over to them. Centurion Sol stared at the swords for a moment, then grasped the hilt of Excaliber... and instantly time stopped. "Welcome, Sir Frank of Earth, son of Sir Thomas of the Sun and Lady Milinda of Venus, Lord of the Stars." Frank spun to see a old man with a long white beard dressed in plain robes and carrying a wooden staff. "Who are you?’ Frank demanded. "I am Merlin, wizard of Camelot and advisor to King Arthur," the old man said. "I’m here to help you." Frank stared at the old man. "Merlin," he muttered. He looked down at the sword. "Then this is Excaliber." "Unfortunately, it is not," Merlin said. "Excaliber is well hidden waiting for the King of the Earth to claim it. The sword you hold is the sword I wielded in my youth, the Crystal Dragon." Merlin paused as Frank took this in. "Now on to more important matters. That demon must be destroyed." Frank nodded. "But how do we do it?" he asked. "The demon absorbs your energy when you attack," Merlin said, "you’re only hope is to hit it with everything you’ve got. Now I must go." "Wait..." Frank started. "Don’t worry," Merlin said, "we will meet again." With that Merlin vanished, as did the Crystal Dragon, and time returned to normal. "Frank, are you all right?" Centurion Altair said, his hand on Frank’s shoulder. "Yeah, I’m fine," Frank said. "I know how to defeat this thing." "Good," Centurion Regulus said, coming up next to Frank. "It’s about time," Sailor Mars muttered, running up next to them. "I’m open to any suggestions," Sailor Mercury said. "Let’s do it," Sailor Sunshine said. "Right," Frank said. Thrusting his hand into the air, he shouted, "Sol Dragon Power!" Instantly, the Crystal Dragon appeared in Frank’s outstretched hand. Silver energy, in the form of a dragon, burst out of the crystal dragon on the hilt of the Crystal Dragon. The energy swirled around Frank, transforming him into the silver armor and silver, flowing cape of Centurion Sol. "Hit it with your best shot," Centurion Sol commanded. The others nodded in understanding. Sailor Mercury thrusted her hands out and shouted, "Mercury Ice Bubbles Freeze!" A stream of ice exploded from Sailor Mercury’s hands, freezing the demon. Clenching her hands together, Sailor Mars shouted, "Mars Firebird Strike!" A bird of flames exploded from Sailor Mars’s hands, engulfing the creature. Wrists together, Sailor Sunshine thrusted her hands out and shouted, "Sunshine Super Nova!" A blast of condensed sunlight shot from Sailor Sunshine’s hands, lancing through the centaur. Raising Icicle in the air, Centurion Regulus shouted, "Regulus Icicle Storm!" Miniature ice swords began raining down on the demon, cutting through it. Centurion Altair pointed Inferno at the demon and shouted, "Altair Inferno Explosion!" The ground around the creature exploded, sending flames up on to it. Bringing the blade of the Crystal Dragon parallel to his face, Centurion Sol shouted, "Sol Dragon Assault!" Six of energy blasts burst from the blade and slammed into the centaur. The attacks hit the centaur almost simultaneously, causing it roar in pain as it slowly disintegrated. The six teens stood, transfixed. "We did it," Centurion Altair said, throwing his arm around Sailor Mars. "We did it!" Sailor Mars looked at Centurion Altair’s arm around her and smiled slightly. "Of course, we did it," she said, sounding annoyed, but her eyes were sparkling. "All right!" Centurion Regulus shouted, scooping up Sailor Mercury in his arms. "I’m so glad to see you, Sailor Mercury." "I’m glad to see you too," Sailor Mercury said, laughing. Sailor Sunshine threw her arms around Centurion Sol and kissed him. "Thank the Moon, you’re safe," she said. Centurion Sol smiled at her and said, "Nothing I couldn’t handle." Sailor Sunshine laughed and clutched him tighter. Epilogue The six teens gathered around to say good-bye to the BWO. /It was a pleasure to meet you,/ Greg said, shaking Michael’s hand and holding the Book of Merlin in the other. /And thanks for the equipment,/ Amy said, bowing to him. /No problem,/ Michael said. /Always ready to help out others./ Frank reached out his hand to Jonathan. /Thanks for everything, Jonathan,/ he said. Jonathan grabbed Frank’s hand and shook it. /I just wish we could have caught Executive,/ he said. /I have a feeling I’ll run into him again,/ Frank said, shaking his head. Frank went to pull his hand away but Jonathan held onto it. /Your grandfather would be proud of you, Frank,/ Jonathan said. Frank smiled. /Thank you, Jonathan,/ he said, as Jonathan let go of his hand. Jennifer, Blackwing, and Spark shook hands with the Scouts and Knights and then the BWO moved away from them. "You guys ready?" Frank said. "Ready," Raye said. "Let’s go home," Angie said, as she took Frank’s hand. "We’d better transform," Amy said. "Regulus Icicle Power!" "Mercury Power!" "Altair Inferno Power!" "Mars Power!" "Sol Dragon Power!" "Sunshine Amulet Power!" "Scout Teleport!" In a flash of light and energy, the Scouts and Knights vanished, leaving the BWO to stare at the spot where they had stood. /Do you think we’ll ever see them again?/ Blackwing asked. Jonathan nodded. /Something tells me we’ll be seeing them a lot sooner than we think./ The End Author’s Notes First off I must apologize. I screwed up... majorly. If you go back and read my last few stories, you will note that I used the transformation phrases and powers associated with Star Powers(for example: "Mercury Star Power" and "Jupiter Thunderclap Zap"), yet I’ve established the time to be just when Reeny appeared, thus before the Sailor Scouts received those powers. I’ve corrected that mistake and change the words for the Star Knights’ transformations in this fanfic. My next story will be Mournings, taking place three days after Serena’s murder and four days before her funeral. The story will revolve mostly around the four original Scouts(Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus) since they have known Serena the longest. The other Scouts and the Knights will be feature, but not as much as the original Scouts. Mournings will be a cliffhanger and will (hopefully) bring you back for more. Darien will get his own spotlight when he teams up with Detective Rich Chek and Justice in Tuxedo Mask. Tuxedo Mask will take place in the three days between Serena’s murder and Mournings. I’m writing this one after Mournings because I’m not yet sure how I’m going to do it. Finally, Serena’s triumphant return will be feature in Future Moon with will team Serena up an unusual group. I will also be giving my slant on the powers of Sailor Moon and the reasons why she is the only Scout to use an item for her power.
