Luna leaped off the top of Serena's bed, landing square on Serena's stomach. Serena sat up with as the air was knocked out of her. "Lunaaa," she whined, sleepiness evident in her voice. "Why do I have to get up?" Luna stared daggers at Serena as she said, "Because we're supposed to be at Raye's in ten minutes!" "What?!" Serena shouted, leaping out of her bed, sleepiness vanishing with incredible speed. "Why didn't you wake me?" Luna just hung her head in defeated. ********* Serena tore down the streets towards Raye's temple, Luna struggling to keep up with her. "Why am I always LATE?!" Serena moaned as turned the corner and ran up the stairs to Raye's temple. Serena stopped at the top of the stairs, panting, to find only Raye and Amy standing there in front of the temple. Amy stared at Serena, disbelief on her face while Raye stood there, smirking. "Where... (gasp) (gasp)... where... (gasp)... is... (gasp) (gasp)... everybody (gasp)?" Serena panted as Luna bounded up the steps behind her. "Serena, you're on time," Amy said, still staring at her. "What?!" Serena shouted. "I couldn't have run from my house to here in less than ten minutes! How am I on time?" Raye continued to smirk as she said, "I told Luna the meeting was a half-hour earlier than it actually was. And look you got here on time." "THAT WAS TOTALLY WRONG!" Serena screeched, stomping her foot on the ground in a fit of temper. "I COULD STILL BE ASLEEP!" "Well, Serena, then you'd be late," Luna said. "While what Raye did was sneaky, it did get the you here on time." Serena looked from Raye to Luna, then to Amy. Lowering her head, she mumbled, "Oh, all right." Amy laughed as Chad and Greg came out of the temple. "Serena!" Chad exclaimed. "You're here!" "And on time, too," Greg said. "Shut up," Serena mumbled, stalking past them and into the temple. Everyone exchanged glances and laughed. ********* The Scouts and the Knights were gathered on the steps to Raye's temple. "Well, any thoughts about what's been going on recently?" Luna asked. "What I want to know is why Alan and Anne are involved with the generals," Raye said. "Yeah. The last time we saw them they were heading into space," Lita said. "And why did they pull out at the last second?" Ken asked, fiddling with the small crest moon necklace he now wore. "Zoycite could have killed me right there and then." "Most likely because there's someone else pulling the strings to both the generals and the aliens," Aaron said. Artemis nodded in agreement. "You're right. But who would the generals bow down to and who could get Alan and Anne to cooperate with them?" Everyone was silent. Finally, Serena said, "We also have to find away to help Darien. The police are still looking for him and Tuxedo Mask." "The only way to help him is to find Dark Mask," Greg said. "He's the only one who can clear both Darien and Tuxedo Mask," Amy agreed. "I need to leave." Everyone turned their heads in surprise towards Frank, who sat on the steps, staring straight ahead. "What?" Andrew said. "I have to leave," Frank repeated, standing up. "There's something I have to find. Something that will help us. I'm not sure what it is, but I know its not here." "I have to leave as well." Every head snapped around to look at Aaron. "My father is dead," Aaron said. "I have to go back to Vega to claim the throne before my cousin, Xoxan can. I don't expect anyone to come with me." "I'm going with you," Krista said, taking her husband's hand. "Vega is my home as well as yours, my love." Aaron smiled down at her. "Thank you," he said. "Go to Neflite and ask him to go with you." Everyone turned to look at Serena in amazement. "What?" Aaron said. “You heard me,” Serena said as she turned to Frank. "Are you going to need help?" she asked , her voice still calm and serious. Before Frank could answer, Angie said, "I'm going with him." Frank looked at Angie in surprise as Serena smiled and said, "Chad, Greg, Amy, and Raye will also go with you." Luna looked at Artemis and said, "Just when I think she's hopeless, she goes and does something like this." Serena looked around at all of the shocked faces and said, "Anyone want some ice cream? I'm just SO hungry!" Luna's and Artemis's heads dropped in despair. ********* A lone man floated in night sky above New York City, a newspaper in his hand. The city lights create a silhouette of the man with his cape flowing out behind him. "New hero appears in Tokyo," the man read. Slowly, he folded the newspaper so that only a single picture showed, a picture of Sailor Moon. "How did you get?" the man whispered. "How did you get my Serenity's power?" The man let the newspaper fall from his hand as he turn towards the West. "Prepare for me, Sailor Moon," the man said, "Justice is coming to you." Chapter 2 "Where is she?!" The Four Sisters cowered at Rubeus's rage. "Rubeus, we've only been here a few days," Katzie said, flipping her blue hair back. "This is a big city." Rubues shot her a look. "I don't want excuse!" Rubeus shouted at her. "And neither does the Wiseman." His eyes narrowed in anger. "Maybe you'd like to explain to him why we don't have the girl yet." The Four Sisters all looked away, knowing well that the Wiseman would be disappointed with their results so far. "I thought not," Rubeus said, glaring at them. "Now I want you to find that girl and I want you to find her now!" ********* Serena walked back into her house, smiling, Luna following just behind her. With Krista's help they had managed to convince Amy's mother, Greg's parents, and Raye's grandfather that they were going on an educational trip for a while. Then Amy, Greg, Raye, Chad, Angie, and Frank had used the Sailor Teleport, but to where Serena wasn't sure. Aaron and Krista had left with Neflite for Vega, so everything was going smoothly. Serena bounded up the stairs to her room, threw open the door, and stopped dead. "Oh, my," Luna said, shocked. Serena's room was trashed. Someone had been inside searching for something and left the room in shambles. Turning in her doorway, Serena shouted, "Reeny!" A small girl in a pink dress with pink hair made-up in the same style as Serena's appeared in front of her. "What?" Reeny snapped, as her "Lunaball", as she called it, floated up behind her. "Did you trash my room?" Serena demanded. Reeny laughed. "What if I did?" she shot back. "Reeny, this is my room!" Serena shouted. "If you want something you should just ask me!" Reeny took a step closer and said, "Fine. I want the crystal." "I told you before," Serena said. "It's not HERE!" "Serena!" Both Serena and Reeny turned their hands to see Serena's mother standing in at the end of the hallway. "I will not have you yelling at Reeny," her mother said. "Now apologize." "But, Mom..." Serena started, pointing back into her room. "Apologize." Serena's mother growled. "Yes, mother," Serena said between her teeth. "I'm sorry, Reeny. I shouldn't have yelled at you." Reeny smiled sweetly at Serena, then turned and bounded down the hall. "Good," Serena's mother said with a nod of her head. "By the way, Serena, a young man called while you were out. He said his name was Knight and asked if you could meet him at the mall. He would be the only one wearing a tuxedo. What did e mean?" Serena blinked twice. "Darien?" she whispered. Then a little louder, she said, "Thanks, mom. Bye!" With that, Serena tore past her mother, leaving her staring after her, with Luna close behind. She ran down the steps and yanked opened the door to find herself face to face with a man in a black suit and red tie. The man blinked, his hand poised to knocked on the door. For a moment, Serena and the man stared at each. Finally, Serena said, "Can I help you?" The man looked down at a picture in his hand, then back up at Serena. The man put the picture in the inside pocket of his suit jacket, then pulled out a billfold. Flipping the billfold open to reveal a police badge, the man said, "Serena Swenson?" When Serena nodded, the man continued, "I'm Detective Richard Chek from the Tokyo Police Department. I need to ask someone questions about Darien Shields." ********* Andrew walked into a diner and looked around, then smiled. Walking to the end of the diner, he sat down across from a blond haired woman. "Hello, Andrew," the woman said. She was dressed in jeans and a white T-shirt with her hair pulled back in a ponytail. "Hello, Zoey," Andrew said, smiling. "How are you?" "I'm fine," Zoey said, smiling, indicating the cup in front of Andrew. "I ordered you some coffee." "Thanks." Andrew picked up the cup and took a sip. "So, what do you want to do?" Zoey shrugged. "Can we just talk?" she asked. Andrew's smile widen. "I would love that," he said. ********* Mina walked past a diner, gazing in the windows. Hey, that's Andrew! she thought, surprised. As Mina watched, a woman stood up shook hands with Andrew and left the diner, leaving Andrew. Mina frowned. That woman looks familiar, she thought. I wonder who she is? Mina was about to walk away when Andrew looked up and saw her. He smiled at her and waved his hand, beckoning her to come in. Mina smiled back, turned, walked down to the corner, and went in the diner. "Hi, Andrew," Mina said, sitting down. "Who was that woman I saw you with?" "Hi, Mina," Andrew said. "That was Zoey. A friend of mine." "Just a friend?" Mina asked, her hopes rising. "For now," Andrew said, dashing Mina's hopes with just two words. ********* Zoycite left the diner and vanished from sight. She reappeared at the church that she and her "companions" were using as a hideout. Waving her hand, her clothing changed into long, black, sleeveless dress and a black pair of high heels. She walked into the church to find them waiting for her. To her right stood Alan and Anne, two aliens who lived off of the energies of some tree. They were being forced into this business with the Scouts. In actuality, the two aliens liked the Scouts, having been helped by them in the past. To her left was Jedite, a former general of Beryl. Jedite was donned in a black shirt, black pants, knee-high boots, and long black cape. He, liked herself, was a pawn in this game against the Scouts, though both had no idea what the game actually was. Next to Jedite was Dark Mask, an evil duplicate of Tuxedo Mask. It had taken some time to get used to seeing him around, since he looked exactly like Tuxedo Mask. But if he was half the fighter the real Tuxedo Mask was, he would a valuable asset to the game. In the center of the group was the man behind all of them: Savior. Savior was a being more powerful than all of them put together. He had control of the tree which Alan and Anne needed to survive, he could cut off Jedite and herself from their powers any time he wanted, and he had created Dark Mask. None of them knew anything about except that he wanted the Scouts destroyed. “Where have you been?” Jedite demanded, taking a step towards her. “What’s it to you, Jedite?” Zoycite sneered. “What if we had needed you?” Jedite said, rage dripping from is voice. “What if, for some strange reason we wanted to contact you?” Zoycite was about to reply when Savior said, “Then I would have summoned her, Jedite.” Jedite turned to Savior, eyes blazing. “Of course,” he said sarcastically, “I should have realized that our great and powerful leader would be...” Savior eyes glowed black with power as Jedite was slammed against the wall of the church, knocking the breath out of him. Invisible forces held him there, preventing him from moving. “Jedite,” Savior said, moving towards him, “never try to undermine my authority again or I will make what Beryl did to you seem LIKE A PLEASANT DREAM!” Savior’s voice grew louder and more forceful, causing all those present to wince in pain as they felt his rage. “DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?” Savior concluded. Jedite nodded his head feebly and instantly the forces that held him in place vanished, letting him fall to the ground. “Now,” Savior said, his voice becoming calm and quiet again, “there is something we need to take care of before we continue our game with the Sailor Scouts.” “What’s that?” Alan asked. “We must take care of some loose cannons,” Savior answered. “Dark Mask, I want you to remain here. The Scouts may get involved in this and right now they’ll be after you in order to clear Darien.” Dark Mask nodded as Savior waved his hand causing the generals and the aliens to vanish. ********* The people of Tokyo pointed up at the sky as a man floated down from the sky. The man was dressed in a white bodysuit with a small yellow circle in the center of his chest. He wore red gloves, red boots, and a long, red cape that swirled behind him as he landed among the people. “Justice...” a woman breathed, unable to believe her eyes. Justice smiled at the woman, then said, “People of Tokyo, I here today in search of the hero that you call Sailor Moon and her friends the Sailor Scouts. I wish to speak with her.” Chapter 3 “Thank you for time, Miss Swenson,” Detective Chek said, standing up. “And remember if you hear from Mr. Shields, let me know.” “Yes, sir,” Serena said, as she showed Detective Chek out. As she shut the door behind him, she slumped forward and breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank the Moon, he bought all of that.” She said aloud. Suddenly, a knock on the door caused Serena to straighten up in a panic. Serena opened the door slowly, revealing Lita, Mina, Andrew, Ken, and Artemis. “Oh, man,” she said, “I thought you guys were...” “Forget it, Serena,” Lita said, stepping in side. “You’re never gonna believe what’s going on.” “Yeah, it’s sooo cool!” Mina exclaimed, following Lita inside. Ken came in, walked over to Serena’s television, and turned it on to show a muscular man with wavy, blond hair, wearing a white bodysuit with a small yellow circle in the center of his chest. “...I want to meet with her to discuss certain matters.” “This started airing about twenty minutes ago on every station,” Andrew said. “It’s on a continual loop, so it should restart in a minute.” True to Andrew’s word, the message restarted almost immediately. “People of Tokyo,” the man said, “my name is Justice. I am here to speak with the hero known as Sailor Moon and her friends, the Sailor Scouts. If she would meet me on top of the tallest building in Tokyo, I want to meet with her to... discuss certain matters.” Serena blinked. “He wants to meet with us?” she asked, her voice filled with awe. “This is sooo cool!” “The tallest building in Tokyo would be the Casino Towers,” Andrew said. “Then what are we waiting for?” Serena asked. “Let’s go!” ********* Detective Richard Chek moved aside as four teens and a cat ran by him, heading for Swensons’ house. He crossed the street to his car and got inside. Everything Miss Swenson had told him rang false. She claimed she didn’t know where Shields was, yet through the entire conversation, he had felt as if she was hiding something from him. Detective Chek looked across the street to see the Serena, the four teens, and two cats leave the Swensons’ house at a full tilt. Detective Chek started his car. Miss Swenson was the only connection Shield really had to anyone, sooner or later, he would contact her and Detective Chek planned to be there when that happened. ********* Rubeus looked up at five people materialized in room. “Who are you?” Rubeus demanded, standing up. The Four Sisters also stood, ready to back him up. The man in the red business suit stepped forward, a long, sleek, black staff appearing in his hand. “My name is Savior,” he said, “I am here to tell you that this world is not yours and that I will stop your feeble attempts to take.” Rubeus stared at Savior for a moment, then laughed. “And how do you intend to stop us?” he asked. Leveling his staff at Rubeus, Savior said, “Like this.” A blast of black energy leaped from the staff, blowing Rubeus across the room. Rubeus crashed into one of the mirrors in the room, bringing it down on top of him. Throwing the mirror aside, Rubeus leaped to his feet and shouted, “Four Sisters, attack!” ********* Serena and the others entered one of the many elevators in the Casino Towers and pushed the button marked ROOF. “I guess we should transform, huh?” Mina said. Serena nodded and said, “Moon Crystal Power!” “Venus Star Power!” Mina said. “Jupiter Star Power!” Lita said. “Sirrus Star Transformation!” Ken said. “Polaris Star Transformation!” Andrew said. In a flash of light and energy, the five teens were transformed into the Sailor Scouts and the Star Knights. The elevator doors opened a few minutes later. On the opposite side of the roof stood Justice, his red cape flowing out behind him. He didn’t move or speak as the Scouts and Knights stepped out of the elevator and moved towards him. Finally, when the group was about ten feet from him, he said, “How dare you.” Sailor Moon blinked in surprise. “Pardon?” she said. “You have no right to that costume, those powers, or that name,” Justice said, taking a menacing step forward. Sailor Moon took a step back in confusion. “I don’t understand,” she said. “I know... knew Sailor Moon, young lady, and you are no Sailor Moon,” Justice said. “I’m here to take back those powers.” “What...?” Sailor Moon managed, now totally lost. “Listen, buddy,” Centurion Polaris said, taking a step towards Justice, “I don’t care who you are, you can’t do this.” “And are you going to stop me?” Justice asked. “Yes, we are,” Centurion Sirrus said. “Sirrus Star Blast!” Green energy leaped from Centurion Sirrus’s hands, striking Justice in the chest and causing him to stumble backwards. “Nice,” Justice said. “My turn.” Two beams of red energy shoot from his eyes, striking Centurion Sirrus in the chest. Centurion Sirrus clutched his chest and fell over. An instant later, Justice was standing in front of Sailor Venus. Tapping her slightly, Justice sent Sailor Venus flying across the roof. Sailor Jupiter spun to face him and shouted, “Jupiter Thunder Crash!” Lightning shot from her hands, but somehow Justice side-stepped the lightning, allowing to pass him and hit Centurion Polaris who had been coming up behind him. Suddenly, Justice was in front of Sailor Jupiter. A quick tap to the head, knocked Sailor Jupiter out. Justice turned to Sailor Moon and said, “Some heroes... most the battles you won must have been on pure luck.” Sailor Moon straighten up and said, “I’ll show you ‘pure luck’. Moon Sceptre Eliminatio...” Before she could finish Justice was standing in front of her. Her mouth formed an “o” in surprise as Justice ripped the Moon Sceptre from her hands with one hand and lifted her off the ground with the other. “WHERE DID YOU GET THIS?” he roared. “Leave her alone!” Justice turned his head to see a black cat and a white cat walking up to him. He blinked twice. “Luna? Artemis? What in the name of the Moon are you doing here?” Luna stared at Justice for a moment, then blinked and said, “King Julius?” “Yes, it’s me,” Justice said, impatiently. “Now answer the question.” “Well, Your Highness, we’re here with your daughter,” Artemis said. “My daughter...?” Justice said. He looked at Sailor Moon in astonishment. “You mean...” “Yes, King Julius,” Luna said. “Sailor Moon is your daughter.” Chapter 4 Detective Chek glanced at his watched. What could five teenagers be doing in the Casino Tower? he thought. He picked up his recorder and turned it on. “Mental note: Get all information on every office and business located in the Casino Tower and all events that happened in the Tower today.” Detective Chek clicked off the recorder and looked back at the Tower. “What in the world are they doing?” he muttered. ********* Justice placed Sailor Moon on the ground gently and handed her back the Moon Sceptre. Sailor Moon stared at him. “I’m sorry,” he said, “when I saw your picture, I thought you had somehow stolen the powers and the costume. I never dreamed... you’ve grown up into a remarkable woman, my little princess.” “Who are you?” Sailor Moon asked, her voice shaky with fear as the Scouts and Knights picked themselves of the ground. Justice shot a glance at Luna and Artemis. “You didn’t tell her about me?” he said. “No one knew what happened to you, King Julius” Artemis said. “You just disappeared a few years after Princess Serena was born.” Justice closed his eyes and moved away from the Scouts and Knights. “I only disappeared from the public eye. Serenity was an able enough ruler, better than I ever was or ever could be. I let her rule, while I played hero to the universe.” He looked back at them and said, “I’m sorry for the beating I gave you. I was angry. I never should have let my angry get the better of me.” “That’s all right,” Sailor Jupiter said, rubbing her forehead. “Really.” “You’re my father?” Sailor Moon asked, taking a step towards Justice. “Yes,” Justice said, slowly nodding his head. “I am.” He turned and took Sailor Moon’s shoulders. “Sit down,” he said, gently. “Let me tell you about your mother, Queen Serenity, and a little about myself.” Sailor Moon and others sat down as Justice shut his eyes, lost in the past. ********* “I can still remember it like it was yesterday. I was eighteen, a member of the Royal Army of the Moon, and your mother had just turned seventeen. There was a spectacular birthday party going on in the Moon Palace, but I wasn’t attending. I had been chosen to be the watchman of the South Wall, the wall farthest from the party. It was a dull job at the time, the army was for ‘decoration’ only. There were no wars being fought and the Moon Kingdom had no real enemies. I almost fell asleep on that night. I’m glad I didn’t; I would have missed her. I never did find out why she was out by the wall that night; I honestly never tried to find out. I’m just glad she was “I didn’t recognize her. I had only seen her at a distance and who would have thought the Princess of the Moon Kingdom was would have been this far from the Palace. She was wearing a lavender blue dress that sparkled in the twilight. Her long blond hair was pulled into two long ponytails that reached to her knees. She didn’t see me until I tapped her on the shoulder. “’May I help you?’ I asked gently. “She did the last thing I expected her to do. She threw her arms around me and started to cry. I placed my hands awkwardly around her unsure of what to do and held her. I didn’t say anything, I just held. Nothing in life had ever or will ever feel as right as it felt when I held her that night. Finally, she pulled away and mumbled, ‘You must think I’m a fool.’ “I smiled slightly. ‘You are no more foolish than the hundreds of people that come out here and cry on my shoulder,’ I said lightly, trying to cheer her up. “She smiled at that and giggled. It was most wonderful sound I’ve ever heard in my life. ‘Thank you,’ she said. ‘Not many people would allow a complete stranger to cry on their shoulder.’ “’It comes with the job description,’ I said, counting off on my fingers. ‘Protect the people of the Moon Kingdom from the enemies it doesn’t have, take on boring patrols for no apparent reason, and allow complete strangers to cry on your shoulder.’ “She laughed again which was exactly what I had been hoping for. I offered her my arm and said, ‘Now allow me to escort you back to the ball, madam.’ “She took my arm and allowed me to lead her back to the ball. ‘What is your name?’ she asked as we walked. “I blinked in surprise. This was the last thing I expected. ‘Julius,’ I said, after a moment’s hesitation. The next day I found out why she wanted my name. “I had been summoned to the General’s office and walked in to find King Richard, your grandfather, in the office. ‘Private Julius?’ he said as I came in. “I nodded my head, unable to speak. ‘Last night, I understand that you helped one of the guest of the birthday party back to the party,’ he said. Again I nodded. ‘I would like you to meet the young woman that you helped. ‘ “He turned and motioned to someone I hadn’t noticed. My heart skipped a beat as the young woman stepped into view. ‘I would like you to formally meet my daughter, Princess Serenity,’ King Richard said. My heart stopped completely. ‘She would like to see you more often and on a less mysterious basis. Do you have any problems with that?’ “I simply nodded one more time as he smiled and she looked away shyly.” ********* “We courted for nearly a year and were married,” Justice finished. “I was given my powers at the ceremony because, as King Richard said, ‘A king should be able to protect and defend his kingdom’.” Sailor Moon sniffed and wailed, “That was soooo beautiful!” Tears exploded form her eyes like a monsoon. Justice looked at her, raised an eyebrow, and said, “You got that from your mother.” “But why did you leave the Moon Kingdom after Serena was born?” Artemis asked. “I always knew that I didn’t fit in with the ruling class of the Moon Kingdom and many of the ruling class felt that I didn’t belong there,” Justice said. “I left to ease the tension in the court. When I came back the only person I saw or spoke to was Serenity.” “And where you doing the attack on the Moon Kingdom?” Centurion Sirrus asked. “I was on the other side of the galaxy when the attack occurred,” Justice said, a touch of sadness and regret creeping into his voice. He looked down at the ground. “By the time I got back, it was over. I simply wandered space until about twenty years ago, when I finally came out of my depression and came back to Earth. I wanted to protect people again. And this time, I swore I wouldn’t let them down like I let down the people of the Moon Kingdom.” Everyone went silent, even Sailor Moon stopped crying to look at Justice. Sailor Moon stood up and placed a hand on his shoulder. “It wasn’t your fault,” she said. “You didn’t know what was going to happen, you couldn’t have.” “I should have been there,” Justice said. “Then you wouldn’t be here,” Sailor Moon said. “And I would have never known you.” Justice looked into her eyes as a smile touched his lips. “You’re right,” he said. He gently put his arms around her and hugged. “You are so much like your mother, you can make me feel good no matter how depressed I am.” Sailor Moon sniffed again and a single tear rolled down her eye. “Now, now,” Justice said, ending the embrace, “no tears. I want to here all about you and what you’ve been doing.” ********* “How about a hot foot, witch?” Katzie shouted, sending a blast of blue fire at Zoycite. Zoycite leaped over the blast and sent a bolt of lightning hurling back. “No thanks,” she said. “Fire’s not my style.” The lightning hit Katzie in the chest, throwing her back into Prizma and sending them both to the ground. Birdie jumped out from behind a mirror and said, “Freeze, lady!” A beam of ice shot out of her hand at Zoycite, freezing her solid. “Got her!” Birdie said in satisfaction. “And I got you,” a voice from behind her said. Birdie spun just in time to see Alan unleash a blast of energy right into her. As Birdie slammed into a mirror, Avery leaped up and shot a beam of energy at Alan, knocking him back into Anne. She landed next to Prizma and Katzie as the two of them stood up. Jedite placed a hand on the frozen Zoycite and quickly thawed her out. “It’s this fun?” he asked. “Simply delightful,” Zoycite muttered as she shook off the last of the ice. The two sides were about to go at it again, when Rubeus shot between their ranks. Savior stepped between the two sides and said, “Come now, Rubeus. Let us stop this. Simply pack up and go back to where you came from. You don’t stand a chance against me.” Rubeus stood up and said, “We’ll see about that. Girls, to the mirrors!” Rubeus vanished from sight as the each of the Four Sisters leaped into a separate mirror and vanished. “Blasted!” Savior shouted. “After them!” “Wait a minute,” Anne said. “Why are we doing this? They seem to want the same thing you do; the end of the Sailor Scouts.” “They don’t,” Savior said, “trust me. They want to enslave this world and I will not let that happen. Now each of you, into a mirror.” Chapter 5 Justice nodded, beaming with pride. “You’ve done excellently, Serena,” he said. He turned to Sailor Venus and Sailor Jupiter and said, “And you would have made your planets proud.” The girls blushed with pride as Justice snapped his fingers. “That remains me. I’ll be right back.” In the blink of an eye, Justice was gone. “Where did he go?” Sailor Jupiter said. “I went to my Base in the South Pole,” Justice said as he reappeared. “I just remembered that I have these for the Sailor Scouts.” Justice held out his hands to show them a necklace, a ring, a broach, and two bracelets. “What are these?” Sailor Jupiter asked. “These are items of power from your planets,” Justice answered. “I was entrusted with them when I became king. I was to give them to you when I thought you were ready. You seem ready to me.” He took the ring and held it out to Sailor Jupiter. It had a plain, silver band with a green stone in it. Inside of the stone was the symbol of Jupiter. “This is the Jupiter Ring,” he said, “it will give you control of the sound of thunder as well as it’s strength.” Sailor Jupiter took the ring and placed on her finger as Justice turned to Sailor Venus and held up the necklace. It was silver with a yellow stone at the end. Inside the stone was symbol of Venus“This is the Venus Necklace,” Justice said. “It will give you the strength of the stars.” Sailor Necklace took the necklace from Justice and said, “Cool.” Justice looked at Luna and Artemis. “Since Sailor Mercury and Sailor Mars aren’t here, I’m leaving the bracelets and the broach in your care until they can be given to them.” The two cats bowed as Justice turned to Centurion Sirrus and Centurion Polaris. “I don’t have anything for the two of you,” he said, “save advise. And I mean this in best way possible, you need a lot of practice, if you’re going to be their protectors.” Both Knights looked down, unable to think of anything to say. “Don’t worry,” Justice said, smiling. “Mostly what you need is experience, which will come in time. Other than that all you need is...” Justice stopped in mid-sentence and looked away. “What’s wrong?” Sailor Moon said. Justice’s eyes narrowed. “There’s a battle going on downtown,” he said. “We have to help. Come on!” Without waiting for them to respond, Justice leaped into the air and went flying down town. Sailor Jupiter looked after him. “I guess we forgot to mention that we can’t fly,” she called after him. “Well, we can’t just stand here,” Sailor Moon said. “Let’s go!” “Wait!” Luna said. “Change back. People might get suspicious seeing the Sailor Scouts and the Star Knights running out of the building.” “Right,” they said, almost in unison. ********* Detective Chek checked his watch. One hour, he thought. What are they doing in there? Suddenly, a crackling filled the car as the police radio said, “Calling all units. Ten identified people are fighting in the downtown area. Need immediate assistance.” Detective Chek sat up straight and started his car. He failed to see the five teens which he had followed come out of the Casino Tower as he pulled away. ********* Darien walked around the mall, waiting for Serena to show up. He didn’t think she’d recognize him any more. He was another three inches taller, thanks to a pair of platform shoes he had gotten that were hidden by a longer pair of pants. His hair was now a dark red, the best he had been able to do. His once blue eyes were now a hazel-green, thanks to a special pair of contacts he had gotten from a friend. He had called the Serena’ house again and left the same message with her mother. Her mother had been confused and said that Serena had already left to meet him. That had been a half-hour ago and he was beginning to worry. Darien continued to walk through the mall, hoping to spot Serena among the mobs of people. He needed to see her. She was what kept him going each day and he didn’t know what he would do without her. In days since he had been framed, he had realized how much he really loved her. Suddenly, the wall next to Darien exploded outward, sending him tumbling to the ground and through the wall came Zoycite and a green-haired girl that Darien had never seen before. Darien leaped to his feet and ran into a nearby doorway as people ran away from the two combatants, screaming. Darien pulled a red rose out of his inside pocket and closed his eyes in concentration. The rose glowed with white energy, which ran out of the bud, down the stem, and into Darien, transforming him into the white garbs of Moonlight Knight. Stepping out from the doorway, the Moonlight Knight threw a single white rose, which struck in the ground between Zoycite and green haired woman. “Looking to do some shopping, ladies?” he said. “You!” Zoycite spat, throwing a lightning blast from her hand. As Moonlight Knight sidestepped the blast, the green-haired girl fired off her own blast of lightning, knocking Zoycite into one of the stores. “Thanks,” the woman said, “that distraction is all I needed.” “Thanks is not necessary,” Moonlight Knight replied. “I was just doing my best to help.” “The name’s Prizma,” the woman said. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll just go finish her off.” She turned and started to head towards Zoycite, but Moonlight Knight reached out and grabbed her arm. “I’m sorry, Prizma, but I don’t like killing when it is unnecessary.” “That’s nice,” Prizma sneered. “Now if you don’t mind, BACK OFF!” Prizma placed her hand on Moonlight Knight’s chest and sent a short burst of lightning into him, blasting him across the mall. “Wonderful,” Moonlight Knight said, struggling to his feet as Prizma leaped at Zoycite. “Two women that want to kill each and maybe me. Can this day get any better?” As if in response to his question, through the roof came three more women followed by Jedite and the two aliens. Moonlight Knight stood and stared as two sides began an all out war in the middle of the war. “Evil is a disease. Once it devours everything, it will turn in on itself,” Moonlight Knight muttered as he moved to confront both sides. Chapter 6 The Sailor Scouts ran into the mall and stared at the destruction. “Unbelievable,” Serena said. “What took you guys so long?” a voice said. Looking up, the five teens saw Justice floating above their heads. “We can’t fly,” Ken said. “Oh,” Justice said, surprised. “Really?” “Yes, really,” Andrew said, shaking his head. Suddenly, Luna shouted, “There they are.” The teens and Justice both looked to where Luna indicated to see the two generals, the two aliens, and four women that no recognized fighting with the Moonlight Knight dodging blasts from both sides. “Darien,” Serena said, taking a step forward. “You know him?” Justice asked, looking down at his daughter. “He’s my boyfriend,” Serena said, looking up at him. “Really?” Justice said. “We’ll have to save him just so that I can meet him. Come on!” “Right,” Serena said. “Moon Crystal Power!” In flash of white energy and feathers, Serena transformed into the red and white uniform of Sailor Moon. Lita thrusted her ring hand in the air and said, “Jupiter Ring Power!” Light green lightning and energy leaped from the ring and twirled around Lita, transforming her into the green uniform of Sailor Jupiter. “Venus Necklace Power!” Mina said. Yellow energy burst from the necklace, wrapping around her like a cocoon and transforming her into the yellow uniform of Sailor Venus. Ken punched his right hand into his left and said, “Sirrus Star Transformation!” Green energy exploded from his hands and sped around him, changing him into the green armor and green cape of Centurion Sirrus. Andrew placed his hands about a foot apart and said, “Polaris Star Transformation!” A bronze sphere of energy formed between his hands, then leaped on his hands, spreading over his body and transforming him into the bronze armor and bronze cape of Centurion Polaris. Sailor Moon leaped on to edge of a fountain and shouted, “Hold it right there!” Everyone stopped and looked at her. “I am Sailor Moon,” she said, “champion of love and justice.” “I am Sailor Jupiter.” “I am Sailor Venus.” “I am Centurion Sirrus.” “I am Centurion Polaris.” “We right wrongs and triumph over you, and that means you,” Sailor Moon said. “In the name of the moon, we will punish you!” “You have got to be kidding me,” Justice said, looking down at them. “Hey, it gets their attention,” Centurion Polaris said. “Who are you?” Jedite asked, pointing up at Justice. Justice looked down at Jedite and said, “I am Justice, Jedite. Through you would remember me better as King Julius.” Jedite and Zoycite exchanged glances. “We’re in trouble,” Zoycite said. “This is a wonderful conversation,” Avery said, “but if you don’t mind: BUTT OUT!” Beams of energy shot from Avery’s hands, exploding against the fountain and sending the Scouts and Knights scattering. “Get them!” Alan shouted. ********* As Detective Chek stepped out of his car, an officer ran over to him and said, “You’ve been put in charge of this, Detective,” the officer said as the walked towards the police line. “Why?” Detective Chek asked. “Because the latest surveillance shows the Sailor Scouts are in there,” the officer replied. Detective Chek nodded. “Who do we know for sure that’s in there ?” he asked. The officer produced some pictures and began flipping through them. “We’ve identified three of the Sailor Scouts: Moon, Venus, and Jupiter,” the officer said, “the two aliens from awhile back, and two of the guys responsible for the events that first brought the Sailor Scouts to light. There are four women and two guys in armor in there that no can identify.” “Is that it?” Detective Chek asked. “No, sir,” the officer responded. “The guy that looks like Lawrence of Arabia is in there and... Justice.” “Justice?” Detective Chek said. “Good at least we have one guy in there that’s on our side. OK, here’s what I want. There our four exits to the mall, I want a SWAT team on each exit and two more teams ready to go in. I want helicopters flying over the roof the whole time this is going on and I want every available officer ready to go in. Got all that?” “Yes, sir,” the officer answered. “Then get going.” As the officer ran off, Detective Chek looked at the mall and said, “Got ya’.” ********* Rubeus appeared in the park, breathing heavily. He had been running around Tokyo for some time, trying to get away from Savior. He breathed a sigh of relief as he looked around, finding no trace of his relentless pursuer. “Don’t look so relieved, my friend,” a voice said from above him. “I haven’t lost you yet.” Rubeus looked up in horror to see Savior floating above. “Stay away!” Rubeus shouted, backing away as Savior floats down to the ground. Savior laughed. “Very well,” Savior said, pointing his staff at Rubeus. “I will ‘stay away’.” A blast of black energy shot out of the staff and slammed into Rubeus’s chest, pinning him against a nearby tree. Savior walked forward until he was inches from Rubeus and said, “I know your plight in the future and I know what your Wiseman plans for the present, I’m here to tell you that you and your Wiseman and the Dark Moon Kingdom will do nothing in this era. I agree that what Sailor Moon does to you and your kind is wrong, but you indeed to do is as bad, if not worse, and I will not allow that to happen to this or any other world. Do you understand?” Rubeus nodded his head and Savior continued, “Good. Now I want you to go back to your spaceship and tell all that to the Wiseman. Now.” Rubeus nodded again and vanished. Savior smiled, everything was going according to his plan. Chapter 7 Reeny stepped out of the house and looked around. Clutching her Lunaball, she ran out of the house, some inexplicable fear driving her out and in direction of the park. ********* Moonlight Knight grabbed Sailor Moon, lifted her up, and leaped away as a blast of lightning slammed into the ground where they had been a moment before. “Oh, Moonlight Knight, you just swept me off my feet,” Sailor Moon muttered. Moonlight Knight landed, trying not to smile at the bad pun. “Beauty such as yours should not be marred,” he said, causing Sailor Moon to blush. “If you two are finished with the mush, we could use some help here!” Centurion Polaris said, dodging a blast of energy. Holding out his hands, Centurion Polaris shouted, “Polaris Star Blast!” Bronze energy flew from his hands at Birdie who jumped aside. Moonlight Knight put Sailor Moon down, reached into his cape, pulled out three pure white roses, and threw them. The first rose caught Jedite’s cape, pinning it to the wall. The second slammed into the ground between Katzie’s feet, tripping her up. The final rose passed between Sailor Venus and Anne, causing Anne to lose her grip and release Sailor Venus. Sailor Venus stepped back and said, “Let’s give these new powers a spin, shall we, Sailor Jupiter?” “Yes, let’s,” Sailor Jupiter replied. “Jupiter Thunder Crack!” Sailor Jupiter threw her hands and an explosion of sound flew from them, knocking all eight of their opponents into the wall. “Nice shot, Sailor Jupiter. Now, it’s my turn,” Sailor Venus said. “Venus Love Stars!” Sailor Venus pointed her finger at the eight villains as a cascade of tiny yellow energy stars flew from her hands, cutting through their opponents. Justice floated down and said, “Not bad. You get the hang of new powers quick, don’t you?” Jedite pulled the white rose from his cape and threw it to the ground. “Alan,” he said. “I think we could do with some of your famous cardians right about now.” Alan nodded and pulled out his deck of cards. Holding the deck up to Anne, he said, “Pick a cardian, Anne, any cardian.” Anne pointed to a card, causing it to float in the air before them. Alan brought his flute to his lips and began to play the tune that brought all cardians to life. As the tune finished, the card glowed brightly and a tall black creature that looked something like a possessed cat appeared before them “I am Blackheart,” the creature said, “bane of life itself.” Alan pointed his flute at the Sailor Moon and the others and said, “Blackheart, destroy the Sailor Scouts!” Blackheart turned and leaped at the Sailor Scouts as Rebeus appeared and said, “Come, girls, the Wiseman summons us back to our time.” Jedite looks at his companions and said, “I guess that means we can head back as well.” Then, almost simultaneously, the two groups vanished. Justice moved forward faster than the others could see and intercepted the cardian. “This one’s mine,” he said, flying forward. Blackheart pointed at Justice and fired blasts of energy at him. Dodging around the blasts, Justice slammed ino Blackheart, throwing it to the ground. Jusitce landed in front of the creature as it stood. Blackheart took a swing at Justice, who ducked under and drove is left fist into the cardian’s stomach. Blackheart doubled up and Justice uppercutted it, sending back to ground. Blackheart stood up and leaped at Justice, who caught it by throat. Justice floated up off the floor as the cardian thrashed in his iron grip. “I don’t normally take the lives of living things,” Justice said, “but in this case, I believe I’ll make an exception.” Red beams shot from Justice’s eyes, slowly burning the creature to nothing. No one else moved as the creature’s vapors floated away. “Wow,” Sailor Moon said. “Do I get powers like that?” Justice laughed. “No,” he answered. “Only powerless kings get them. Now let’s get out of here.” ********* Detective Chek looked around. “Is everything in place?” he asked. “Yes, sir,” the officer who had originally meet him said. “Good,” Detective Chek said, “then move in.” The police burst into the mall swarming all over it in a matter of seconds. Detective Chek stormed in through the main entrance, gun drawn, and said, “Where are they?” The young officer accompanying him, pulled out a walkie-talkie and said, “All units report in.” The radio crackled as it said, “Unit 1. No sign of them.” “Unit 2. Ditto the first.” “Unit 3. Nothing here.” “Unit 4. I don’t think there here anymore, sir.” The young officer looked at Detective Chek and said, “I’m sorry, sir. It seems that they got away.” Detective Chek holstered his gun, looked around, and swore. ********* Rebeus and the Four Sisters reappeared in the spaceship. “What’s going on, Rebeus?” Katzie asked. “That man Savior knew who we are, everything we had done, and what we wanted to do,” Rebeus said. “The Wiseman wants to deal with Savior personally. We are to concentrate all of all efforts in finding the girl.” The Four Sisters nodded. “So, what’s the first step?” Birdie asked. Rebeus looked away from them as he said, “I’m not sure.” ********* Jedite, Zoycite, Alan, and Anne reappeared in the church to find Dark Mask waiting for them. “How did it go?” he asked. “Where’s Savior?” Jedite countered. Dark Mask shrugged. “I thought he was with you,” Dark Mask answered. The four exchanged glances. “Could Rebeus have...” Alan started. “We can only hope,” Jedite said, turning to look away. “We can only hope.” Zoycite moved away from her companions to the far corner of the church. There had been something familiar about one of the Knights, but she couldn’t place her finger on what it had been. ********* Savior sat on one of the benches of the park, deep in mediation, his eyes closed. It was nice to be away from the church, even for a short time. As much as he hated the Sailor Scouts, he also hated the way he had to destory of them. Despite his hate, he realized that at one point he had been friends with the Scouts and that part of him, though it realized there was no other way, wished he didn’t have to do what he did. He knew he bored easily and didn’t really take the time to do things step by step. Depending upon his mood when he reached a new universe, he would either just butcher them or execute elaborate plans, most of which he made up as he went along. Savior looked up, opening his eyes at a slightly sound. Standing, Savior moved to bushes a few feet and pushed them apart. His eyes widen in surprise as he beheld a small girl with pink hair pulled up in two ponytails crying in the bushes. “Reeny?” he said, astonished. The small girl looked up, sniffled, and said, “Do I know you?” Savior knelt besides her, took her hand, and said, “In a way, yes, you do.” And sometimes plans, and opportunities, just fell into his lap. Chapter 8 The five teens, the disguised Darien, and the now disguised Justice sat at a table at The Max, a popular restaurant in Tokyo. Justice now wore a pair of black dress pants and a white polo shirt. “What I don’t understand,” Serena said, between bites of a large sundae, “is why you don’t have a second identity.” Justice looked and shook his head. “I don’t wear a mask, so my face is one of the most famous in the world,” he said. “What am I supposed to do; wear a pair of glasses and hope everyone’s too stupid to figure it out?” The table laughed at that thought. “I guess that is stupid,” Lita said. “No one seems to recognize you now,” Darien said. Serena looked at him, then shook her head. “You look so strange like that,” she said. “We have to find Dark Mask, I’ll never get used to you like that.” Darien smiled slightly and put his hand on Serena’s. “Of course, we’ll find Dark Mask,” he said. “It’s just a matter of time.” Justice smiled at them. “It’s so good to see this,” he said. “After I found out the Moon Kingdom had been destroyed, I thought I had lost everything.” He paused and took a breath. “But to answer you, Darien, I’m using my super-speed to blur my features, so that no one will recognize me.” Ken tapped his spoon on the table in a unique rhythm as he said, “What’s it like being a hero to the world?” Justice looked at him for a moment, then said, “It feels good to know that I’m helping people. I know I can’t help everyone, but it makes me feel good to help those I can.” Mina looked at Andrew, who was staring out the window in silence. “You’ve been rather quiet, Andrew,” she said, turning everyone’s attention to him. “Are you all right?” “There was something familiar about one of the guys we were fighting today,” Andrew said, “I just can’t figure out what.” Serena opened her mouth, but a look from Justice silenced her. “Look around,” Justice ordered. The Scouts and Knights looked around in confusion. “What?” Serena said. “No one’s moving,” Ken said. Darien reached down, picked up a spoon, and tossed it in the air. As soon as the spoon left his hand, it froze in the air. “What’s going on?” Mina asked. “I believe I can answer that, Sailor Venus.” Everyone turned to look in the center of The Max, where a man in a red suit appeared. “My name is Savior,” the man said, “and I have some... one that is of interest to you. A small girl with pink hair and a ‘Lunaball’.” “Reeny,” Serena said, standing up. “That’s right,” Savior said. “If you wish to see here again, come to the park as you are. I’ll find you.” With that, the man vanished and everyone else in the restaurant began moving again. “Who was that?” Justice asked. “I don’t know,” Serena answered. “but we have to help Reeny.” The others nodded. “Let’s go,” Andrew said, standing. With that, seven of them ran out the door. ********* Serena lead the way as they entered the park, which was devoid of people. The sky was darkening as clouds threatened with a storm. “Where is everyone?” Mina asked as they moved forward. “This Savior person must have cleared the park of everyone,” Justice said. “Very good, Father dearest,” a voice said. As they watched, the man who they saw in the restaurant materialized in front of them. “Where’s Reeny?” Serena demanded, taking a step forward. “I wouldn’t be too concerned with the girl, Sailor Moon,” Savior said as a long, sleek, black staff appeared in his hand. “I’d be more concerned about myself. I have acted as jury and found you guilty. I have acted as judge and passed sentence. Now I act as executioner and will save this planet.” With that, Savior thrusted his staff forward and a blast of black energy shot out of it, scattering the group. Darien dove and rolled back to his feet, holding a red rose. In a matter of seconds, Darien had transformed into the white grabs of the Moonlight Knight. Justice leaped into air and spun around, changing into his Justice costume. Andrew jumped aside and shouted, “Polaris Star Transformation!” In a flash of bronze light and energy, Andrew transformed into Centurion Polaris. Ken dove forward and shouted, “Sirrus Star Transformation!” In flash of green light and energy, Ken transformed into Centurion Sirrus. Lita ran from the blast and shouted, “Jupiter Ring Power!” In flash of green lightning and energy, Lita transformed into Sailor Jupiter. Mina dropped to the ground and rolled away, shouting, “Venus Necklace Power!” In a flash of yellow light and energy, Mina transformed into Sailor Venus. Serena leaped aside and pulled off her locket. But when she hit the ground, she lost her grip on the locket and it rolled away from her. “My locket!” she said in a panic as she scrambled after it. “Hold him off!” Centurion Polaris shouted. Sailor Jupiter threw her hands out and shouted, “Jupiter Thunder Crack!” A sonic boom shot out of her hands at Savior, who began spinning his staff in front of him. The sonic boom hit the spinning staff and bounced back at the group, blasting them all off their feet. Justice dove at Savior from the air. Savior stood there, waiting. Then at the last possible second, Savior swung his staff, hitting Justice across the face. Justice fell to the ground and moaned in pain. While the Scouts and Knights struggled to their feet, Savior vanished and reappeared in front of Serena, just as she reached her locket. “Looking for this?” Savior said, planting his foot down solidly on the locket. The locket shattered under his foot and the Silver Crystal popped out from underneath his foot. “Now, Serena,” Savior said, pointing his staff at her, “you die.” Centurion Sirrus pushed himself to his knees and looked at his hand to find himself holding the Crescent Moon Wand. Without thinking, he heaved the Wand at Serena and shouted, “Serena! Catch!” Serena turned to see the Wand coming towards her. Grabbing the Silver Crystal, she leaped for the Wand just as Savior fired a blast from his staff. The blast hit the ground where Serena had been as Serena caught the Wand. In a flash of light, the Wand and the Crystal combined once more. No one moved as Serena held the Wand above her head and shouted, “Crescent...” White light shined from the Silver Crystal as Savior leveled his staff at Serena. Moonlight Knight stood up and stared, then started to move for Serena. “...Moon...” The white light shot out of the Crystal and began swirling around Serena. Savior unleashed a blast of black energy that shot straight at Serena. “Serena!” Moonlight Knight shouted, running forward. The black energy pierced the white light and blast Serena right into Moonlight Knight, sending them both to the ground. Moonlight Knight pushed off his hat and pulled down his mask as he said, “Serena?” Serena didn’t move or respond. Justice moved over to two and took his daughter’s wrist as Darien slowly began to rock her back and forth. He sat there for a moment, then looked over at Savior and said, “You killed her. You bastard.” Savior stared at the fallen form of Serena for a moment. “So, it ends and so it begins again,” he said as he turned away. Justice roared launched himself at Savior, intending to rip him apart. But Savior vanished, before Justice could reach him. Justice landed on the ground, breathing heavily, then fell to his knees, crying. Suddenly, out of the bushes came Reeny. She opened her mouth to say something, but stopped at the sight she saw. No one noticed her as they all gathered around Darien, who still clutched Serena’s lifeless body to his chest. He had stopped rocking now. He just sat there, holding her body. Darien looked up at the sky as rain slowly started to fall and screamed, “NOOO!” Tears flowed freely from his eyes now, mixing with rain. “Serena,” he whispered. He pulled Serena closer and kissed her gently on the forehead. “I’m so sorry, my little meatball head,” he whispered to her. “I failed you.” The Scouts and the Knights lowered their heads as tears rolled down their cheeks and thunder cracked in the distance. The End Author’s Notes Well, I hope you enjoyed reading this fanfic as much as I enjoyed writing it. There are several things I want to touch on. First off, for those of you interested in what is happening with Frank and his group or Aaron and his group, you will want to read my up-coming fanfics Moon Over America and Moon War. Second, I want to explain something. As a writer, it is my job to do things that have never been done before. To the best of my knowledge, no fanfic or TV show has ever dealt with the death of Sailor Moon, especially at the hands of a fan villain(in this case Savior). Honestly, I enjoyed killing Serena. Not because I want her dead, but because this allows me to explore the reactions of both her friends, her family, and her enemies. Third, for those of you who think that Serena is not dead, in the fanfic which I intend to write after both Moon Over America and Moon War, you will be reading Serena’s funeral. That’s what I said, her funeral. Serena is dead. Fourth, since this is of course a Sailor Moon fanfic, you all know that I will bring Serena back to life. But the way I do it, will both shock and, hopefully, please you. Thanks for reading and as always if you have any comments, questions, etc. feel free to connect me at Storyist@aol.com.
