Well, here is a fic that shall include my favorite villain, Zoisite! In this fic, Zoisite is male, although I will be using DIC names. Why? Because I can spell them. Except Rei will remain Rei. The way it was meant to be. Oh, and the Scouts are again Soldiers, because that sounds better. This takes place sometime after The seventh Rainbow Crystal is collected, but before the episode "A Crystal Clear Destiny" so Malachite might be here too, and Mina hasn't appeared yet (but she might in this fic). Oh, I'm ripping the storyline apart. So deal with it, OK? Are Malachite and Zoisite gay lovers in this fic? I don't know. There, now you have a reason to read the actual story. So read. Also, since DIC calls the Silver Crystal by 2000000 different names (Imperial, Imperium, Emperium, etc.) I have settled on Silver Imperial Crystal, and sometimes just Silver Crystal. And meatball head has been replaced by dumpling head (I think that's more faithful to the original). Also, the Soldiers all know about the Negaverse (arg, I used that name in this fic), but they don't know about Queen Beryl. The highest authority they know of is Malachite. And Forgive me, but I like the name Malachite better than Kunzite. I don't know why, I just do. The Call of Destiny Part 1 Serena rushed out of detention. Just once she'd like to go home on time. Of course, that would never happen, because of the never-ending Sailor Soldier meetings. At least she could be on time for them once in a while if she'd just get up ten minutes earlier. "I'm... here..." Serena puffed as she made her presence known at the temple. "Good," Amy said. "Let's get started," Rei said. "Our first order of business," Luna began, "is Zoisite. He wants those crystals really bad. There's no telling what he will do." "Really," Serena said. "And Tuxedo Mask has two of the crystals. He won't give them to us." "Which means we have to ask ourselves if we can trust him," Lita said. "Serena, did he ever say anything to you about the Negaverse?" "Not really. I did ask him why he helped us. He said the only reason he helped us was because it kept the Negaverse from winning." "Well that's good news. At least he's not on their side," Amy said. "But he could be a lone wolf," Luna said. "Maybe he's not on anybody's side. Maybe he will fight us if we try to get the crystals he has." "Then let's not get them," Serena said. "Let's get the ones Zoisite has and see if Tuxedo Mask will fight us for them." "Do you have a death wish?" Rei asked. "Have you seen him in action?" "Not a whole lot. But he can fight pretty good." "Those roses of his are magical. It's like they're filled with a paralyzing poison or something." "Yeah, really," Lita said. "Well guys, gotta go! I got a lot of homework to do." "OK, see ya," Rei said. "I say we all go home." The remaining Soldiers departed. Rei went back into her temple. < Who's side is he on? > Darien sat on his couch. Ever since discovering that he was Tuxedo Mask, he had been having that dream more and more. Sometimes it was clearer than others. But always it was the same. Always in the end, his princess would ask for the Silver Imperial Crystal to set her free. And then he would wake up in a cold sweat, and need some air. < Who is she? And where is that Silver Crystal? > Darien knew he would get no sleep that night. The questions were nagging at him too much. He just sat on his couch, staring at his television that was not on. And thinking. The next morning, Serena awoke in time to shut her alarm off before it even began. < Whoa! What am I doing awake at this time of morning on a Saturday? There's no school today. > Then she remembered what had awakened her. The dream. In her dream, she was on a balcony, asking for the Silver Crystal from a man she couldn't make out very well. He looked kind of like Tuxedo Mask. He kept calling her princess. "Weird." Serena got up and shot immediately out of her house. She headed straight for... Actually, she didn't know where she was going. All she knew was that she was going. Serena stopped at the park. She spotted Darien reading a book. She sneaked up behind him. < This'll be good. > She smacked him hard on his shoulder. After he let out a scream as in one motion, he got up, spun around, and almost hit Serena in the throat, he suddenly stopped moving. "Hey Darien, you wanna kill me? Is that it?" "Sorry dumpling head." "Oooh! Don't call me that!" "Sorry. Hey, I was in the middle of a good book. And now you've interrupted my concentration." "Hey, sorry. I didn't know it was so important to you." "Could you just... leave me alone. I need to concentrate." Serena just looked at him for a second. She could've sworn she saw the Tuxedo Mask outfit flash on and then quickly off him. "What?" "I said leave me alone." Serena snapped back to reality. "Oh, oh, sorry." Serena walked away and Darien returned to his book. His thoughts kept coming back to Serena for some reason. Zoisite stood in a dark room with Malachite behind her. Zoisite's eyes were closed. Malachite quickly struck at Zoisite. He opened his eyes, jumped up, and landed behind Malachite. Then, he tripped Malachite from behind. "Very good," Malachite said after landing on his back. "You're learning to sense the enemy. Not just rely on vision." "Of course I'm learning," Zoisite said as he helped Malachite up. "I've got a good teacher." Zoisite noticed Malachite's uniform was yet again unbuttoned at the top. He also noticed that Malachite had not broken a sweat. "You know," Malachite said. "You keep this up and soon you'll be replacing me." "You know that will never happen." Malachite's white hair was slightly messed after the training session. "Well, this is a first," Zoisite said, noticing the messed up hair. "I got your hairdo undone." "Good job. I think you're ready to work on level 3 now." "You mean..?" Zoisite said, hope full in his eyes. "Yes. Tomorrow we start with the elementals. You're going to be able to untap your power to have deadly results." "And then I can kill Tuxedo Mask and get those crystals." "Yes. In fact, you can probably do that without the elementals." "Really?" "Of course. Why don't you give it a try. I'll send him a message." "How? We don't know who he is." "We don't need to. I'll send a message to all the Soldiers. And when they're helpless against me, cape-boy will get that message. He can somehow sense when Sailor Moon is in danger. When he shows, you can fight him in hand to hand combat." "That sounds good to me." Zoisite looked at Malachite with the vigor of a young boy on Christmas morning. "Just promise me that if things get hairy, you'll bail. I don't want to lose you." "Things won't get hairy." "Just promise me." Malachite was now holding Zoisite's shoulders. "OK," Zoisite said softly. "I promise." "That's my boy." The Sailor Soldiers were ducking, jumping doing anything to stay alive. Malachite had appeared when they were meeting at the temple, and from then on the area was a battlefield. The Soldiers had little time for the offensive. "Give it up, Sailor Soldiers! You can never win!" He sent a purple energy blast towards the group. It hit the ground in front of them, but the shockwaves knocked them off their feet. "Guys, this is not good!" Mars shouted. Suddenly, a rose flew onto the roof, right by where Malachite stood. "Ah, Tuxedo Mask. You're here! About time." "What are you saying?" Tuxedo Mask didn't notice Zoisite appear behind him. Malachite knew exactly what to do. "I'm talking about how I'm gonna kill you." Tuxedo Mask fixed his gaze on Malachite. First mistake. Second mistake, his next words. "Let's rumble." Zoisite hit him on the back of the head, knocking him to the ground. He got up quickly enough, and turned. "Zoisite, what are you doing here?!" "You wanna rumble, let's rumble!" Malachite disappeared; the Soldiers did not interest him at all at this point. Zoisite dodged every strike Tuxedo Mask threw at him. Then, he spun around, hit Tuxedo Mask across the face, knocking his hat off. The mask stayed, somehow. Without any pause, he kicked Tuxedo Mask in the one spot no man ever wants to get kicked. "AAAHH!!" Tuxedo Mask screamed as he went down to his knees. "Mars Fire Ignite!" The fireball went right past Zoisite, as he disappeared and reappeared to avoid it. "Mercury Bubbles Blast!" The area was fogged up. Zoisite couldn't see. He heard something behind him. He jumped just as Sailor Jupiter was kicking at him. Jupiter was spun around from the effort as Zoisite landed right in front of her. "Hello," he said to a surprised Jupiter before sending her flying into her friends. The fog cleared, and Tuxedo Mask was gone. "Damn!" he shouted. "Moon Tiara--." "You haven't seen the last of me!" Zoisite called as he disappeared, going back to the Negaverse. "Well, that was fun," Mars said as the Soldiers powered down to human form. "Did you get the feeling they're not after us?" Amy asked. "Like they're just after Tuxedo Mask?" "Yeah," Serena said. She had recognized the hair style after the hat had come off. She began to think about the one quick moment in the park. < Can it be? > Zoisite sat beside Malachite. Malachite was looking at the floor. "It's all right. You can kill him next time." "I was so close!" Malachite hugged Zoisite. "I'm sure you'll fight again. And with the power of the elementals, you'll be able to kill him very easily. You almost got him with plain hand-to-hand combat." "Yeah." The two broke away. "Well, guess we better go report to Beryl." "I'll report. No need for you to go." "OK." Malachite appeared before his master, Queen Beryl. She sat on her throne, looking at her crystal ball. She saw nothing in it, but still she stared. She finally did look at Malachite. "My queen, Tuxedo Mask got away in our last battle." "So he won." "Not exactly. He was forced to run. If it wasn't for Mercury, Zoisite would have--" "Enough! Just step up Zoisite's training. I want those crystals!" "Of course, my queen." Malachite disappeared. Beryl's eyes narrowed. To Be Continued... Well, what do you think? Is the storyline ripped apart enough? I thought so. Hey, what can I say? Oh, if you are curious, Venus will be introduced in this fic, but my way (maybe I'll keep some of the original introduction). Serena was given a brain in this fic, so she can figure out Tuxedo Mask's true identity. And I have a clever saying that'll be in one of the parts (maybe next time) about feelings. I hope you'll like it, cause I stole it from The Love Boat: The Next Wave. See you next time! The Call of Destiny Part 2 Serena went to the park again the day after seeing Tuxedo Mask nearly lose his manhood. She saw Darien sitting on a park bench again, this time watching other people pass by. Serena quietly walked up to him. "Mind if I sit down?" she asked. Darien looked at her. She was silhouetted against the sun-lit sky. This was a first. She was nice. "Sure." Darien scooted over to allow her sitting room. He looked at her as she looked up at the sky. The radiance of the sun paled to her radiance in this light. < She's not that hard to look at. > Darien noticed something was bothering her. "Serena, is something wrong?" She looked at him, then down at the bench, then at the ground in front of her. "Serena, if you've got something on your mind, you can tell me." OK. Now he was being nice to her. This was different. Serena only stared at the ground. "Serena, if you keep things inside, it's painful. It's a lot like gas." "What?!" Serena almost shouted as she looked at Darien in surprise. "Really! It is. If you hold gas in, it hurts. If you let it out, you feel better. You might get some strange looks, but you feel better." Darien smiled as Serena did. "Well, I guess you got a point. But I don't feel like sharing now. You'll just think I'm stupid." "No I won't." Darien had no idea he was about to hear what he did. "Well, you know that Tuxedo Mask guy? Well, I think I know who he is." "Really? Tell me." Now what? If she said it was him, what would he say? He would find out soon enough. "Well, you. I saw his hair, and it's the same as yours. And he sounds like you, and--" "Serena, stop. What if I was Tuxedo Mask? What would you do?" "I... I don't... know..." Serena said, not taking her eyes away from him. "Ya know, I do know the Sailor Soldiers..." "You know Sailor Moon?" "Um..." Well, she did technically know herself. "Yeah. I could get you two together to talk or somethin'. I mean, if you are Tuxedo Mask." "Yes... I am." Darien got up. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go." "All right." Darien walked away. Now Serena knew who he was. Why didn't he lie to her? Why didn't he just say no? And why didn't he WANT to lie to her? Serena still sat on the park bench. < Should I tell him who I am? Or should I let him see it? If I told him he'd never believe that I could be Sailor Moon... Oh, what am I gonna do? > Serena got up. Darien was right. She did feel better after getting that out. She headed out of the park. Malachite stood, facing Zoisite. He fixed his gaze on the young, eager eyes of his apprentice. "First," Malachite said, "reach inside yourself. Find your inner strength." There was a pause as Zoisite did this. "Now, pull out that strength. Use it to channel the elemental you were born to control." Malachite noticed a flame surrounding both of Zoisite's hands. "Now, unleash it! Send the flame toward the ceiling!" Zoisite thrust his hands upward. Flames shot from his fingertips. They collided with the ceiling. Part of it was shattered by the impact and fell to the floor between Malachite and Zoisite. "Very good," Malachite said. "With proper practice, you shall master your elemental. The elemental of fire." Zoisite's eyes beamed. "Zoisite, I am so proud of you right now." "Oh Malachite, this is a very happy day for me." "Yes indeed. Now what do you say we practice that fire on the Sailor Soldiers?" "You read my mind." "So," Lita said as she entered Rei's room. "What's this meeting about? The usual?" "Pretty much, yeah," Rei responded. "We need to figure out how Malachite knew where we meet. "Because," all the Soldiers heard a voice say. It was recognizable as Malachite's. "The Negaverse sees everything. Now come outside and fight. Or I will be forced to come in after you!" Rei looked at Amy and Lita, the only other Soldiers who were there. "Better to trash the yard than my room." "Right," Amy said. "Mercury Power, Transform!" "Mars Power, Transform!" "Jupiter Power, Transform!" The Soldiers were transformed in a matter of seconds. "Um," Jupiter said, "where's Sailor Moon?" "Late as usual. Let's just see if we can fend him off," Mars said. Outside, the Soldiers saw Malachite. They saw Zoisite, also. "What's HE doing here?!" Mercury asked. "Zoisite is your enemy today, girls! I'm only here to watch!" Zoisite leaped from the ground into the air, and assumed a sitting position in mid-air. He had his legs crossed. "So, girls. I'm so glad you could make it. Now if you don't mind, I'd like to barbecue you!" Zoisite straightened, and thrust his hands outward. Fire shot from his fingertips. It shot straight for Mars, who was barely able to dodge. She did manage, but could not keep her balance, and went tumbling to the ground. She immediately felt it. "Ow!" she yelled as she grabbed her ankle. She knew she had twisted it. Maybe she had broken it. She didn't know. "Ha!" Zoisite shouted. "You girls are no match for me!" He shot fire at Jupiter and Mercury. He missed Jupiter, as she dodged successfully. "Mercury Bubbles--." She didn't finish. Instead, she only screamed as the fire hit her in the chest. "I'm getting pretty good at this," Zoisite said. "Don't get cocky," Malachite said. "And don't get carried away. Tuxedo Mask is not here yet." "I don't get it," Zoisite said. "He's usually here by now." "You want Tuxedo Mask?!" Jupiter shouted at them. "Well you're not in luck! He can't sense when we're in danger. Just when Sailor Moon's in danger! And she's not here!" That steamed Zoisite. "Then I'll just have to settle for killing you three!" Serena walked to the entrance to the yard of Rei's temple, and saw the brawl. She was not noticed by the Negaverse warriors, as their back was to her. She quickly and quietly transformed. Zoisite sent another fireball at Mars. She saw it coming, and there was nothing she could do. It was too fast to counter it. And dodging was out of the question. "Moon Tiara Magic," Serena whispered as she let her tiara turned disc fly. The fireball sped toward Mars. Then she saw something flash in front of it, and the fireball was dispelled. "What the..?" Mars whispered. "I am Sailor Moon!" shouted the late Soldier. "On behalf of the Moon--" "Oh shut up!" Zoisite yelled as he floated to the ground, turned and faced Sailor Moon. "We know who you are. And I am so glad you could come." Zoisite walked toward Sailor Moon. He was within a foot of her as he gazed into her eyes. "I smell fear. That's smart." He quickly spun around and kicked Sailor Moon across the face. She fell to the ground. Blood ran from her mouth. "Now," Malachite said. "Now she's in danger." "Jupiter Thunder Crash!" The lightning bolt sped toward Zoisite. Malachite quickly transported between the blast and Zoisite, made a force-field around himself, and caught the bolt. Without warning, it was sent back to Jupiter at twice the speed she had sent it. She jumped out of the way as the bolt struck the ground, making grass and dirt fly into the sky. "Come on, Jupiter. This does not concern you," Malachite said. "It concerns me when Sailor Moon is involved!" She rushed in for hand-to-hand combat. Big mistake. Malachite sent her flying backward and into the temple. "No, it doesn't!" "Come on Sailor Moon!" Jupiter called as she got to her knees. "Kick their asses!" Malachite turned so that he was beside Zoisite, facing sailor Moon, who had risen to her feet. "You've got guts," Zoisite said. "Or you're stupid." Zoisite picked Sailor Moon up by the throat. He insides were racked. She wanted to cry, but she didn't want to let him know she was scared. She did scream. Right after Zoisite threw back to her friends, while she was in the air. She hit her head against the steps to the temple. Sailor Moon was knocked unconcious. "Well, this has been fun." Zoisite's eyes narrowed as he got ready to finish off Sailor Moon with a fire blast. He held out his hands. Fire began swirling around them. He was ready to unleash all of his fury on Sailor Moon. Jupiter was too weak to do anything. So was Mercury. And Mars had been rendered helpless early on. "Go on Zoisite. Kill the brat." The fire stopped swirling. Zoisite held his left hand with his right as he winced in pain. He looked to his left, and saw it sticking out of the ground. The rose. That red rose that always was followed by... Zoisite looked to the roof to see Tuxedo Mask! He had finally shown up. Zoisite was very pleased. He was ready to kill Tuxedo Mask, and get those crystals. "All right cape boy. You and me. Hand-to-hand. Right here, right now!" "With pleasure!" Tuxedo Mask leaped from the roof, and landed about ten feet in front of Zoisite. "But Malachite can't interfere. Or there's no fight." Malachite eyed Tuxedo Mask. He was smart. Malachite had to give him that. But he was also foolish. "Fine," Malachite said. "I'll just watch. You have my word." Malachite stepped back. "Get it on." The two combatants moved closer. They stared at each other in the eyes for a long time. "You know," Zoisite said. "A real fighter never conceals his identity. I would have thought you knew that." "Well, I bend the rules a bit." Tuxedo Mask punched, kicked, and swirled. Zoisite blocked every blow. He then executed a low spin kick, which Tuxedo Mask jumped over. Tuxedo Mask kicked at Zoisite's unprotected head. He scored a direct hit, knocking Zoisite down. Zoisite rolled with it, doing a backward somersault before springing to his feet. "I have a confession to make," Zoisite said. He threw fire at Tuxedo Mask, hitting him in the face. His hat was sent flying, it hat landed nearly thirty feet away! It was on fire. "I don't bend the rules. I break 'em!" Zoisite shot more fire at Tuxedo Mask, who managed to dodged it. But he was quickly wearing out. While dodging a ball of fire, Tuxedo Mask flipped backward in the air, took out a rose, and threw it at Zoisite, all in one motion! The rose stuck in Zoisite's chest. "That's it! Now I'm mad!" Zoisite sent an entire wall of flame speeding at Tuxedo Mask. It was too high to jump, even for him. And there was no way he was going to get around it. It looked like he was done for, as well as the rest of the Soldiers. "Dear God, please find a way to get us out of this!" That way came none too soon. He heard someone shouting. "Venus Crescent Beam Smash!" The beam seared right through the fire, making it disappear as it sped to an unsuspecting Zoisite. It hit him square in the face, knocking him backward and on his back. "Who's there!?" Malachite shouted. He looked up to see what looked like a Sailor Soldier on the roof. "I am Sailor Venus. Or, as you may know me already, Sailor V!" She jumped down to the ground. "And you are just no good scum. That means I must fight you!" Sailor Venus did not have her full sailor V uniform on; she was missing her mask. "I am not impressed." Malachite looked at Zoisite. He was bleeding badly. "But we will be going now. Next time, you will all die, and those crystals will be mine!" Malachite picked up Zoisite, and both disappeared to go back to their world. Venus turned to look at the injured fighters of justice. "Let's get you all inside somewhere." "This is my home," Mars said. "It's OK to go in here." "Right." Tuxedo Mask stood up. "I'll carry Sailor Moon. Can you carry Mars?" "Sure," Sailor Venus said. "I can walk," Jupiter said. Once they were all inside, the Soldiers powered down to their human forms. Sailor Moon's power-down was involuntary. It just happed because there was no more threat for the time being. Tuxedo Mask stayed as Tuxedo Mask. "Can you take care of them?" "Yes," Venus said. Tuxedo Mask turned to go out the door. "Hey, wait! Where are you going?" "I'm going home." "Don't be ridiculous! You're hurt! I'm going to put bandages on those burns." "No you're not." Tuxedo Mask went out the door. The girl who was sailor Venus turned her attention to the wounded Soldiers. Mars looked at Tuxedo Mask as he disappeared around a corner. Her eyes were teary. "So," the blond-haired savior said. "My name is Mina. What are your names?" Tuxedo Mask stood on his balcony, letting the wind blow over him. < So, > he thought. < Sailor Moon and Serena are the same person. At least I didn't tell a Negaverse spy who I was. But I wasn't chancing it Sailor Venus. The Negaverse can be sneaky. She might actually be a spy to find out who I am. Well she's not gonna knoow just yet. > Tuxedo Mask went inside, powered down, and went to the bathroom to get a cold wash-cloth. He had to put something on his burns. < That feels better, > he thought after the coldness of the cloth was applied to the intense heat of his second-degree burns. Darien laid down on his sofa. He kept thinking about the new information he had discovered. Sailor Moon and Serena. The same person. Still, he had to keep in mind that if even she were to get in his way of obtaining all seven rainbow crystals, he would need to do the necessary things. Absolutely anything. < I MUST find out who I am. > To Be Continued.... So, are we all getting interested? Good. Then you'll read the next part. See, I made Zoisite and Malachite a bit more powerful for this fic. So it's gonna be interesting. See you next time, same moon time, same moon channel (Guess where that came from!). Welcome all! You are all invited to read part 3 of this fic. To recap what happened last time, go review it yourself! I'm giving nothing away in the author's notes. If I did that... well, I'd be one of those people that gives things away in the author's notes. AND you wouldn't have to read the story. So without further ado, let's start. PS-- A bust (for those who don't know) is the part of the body that includes the upper chest, shoulders, neck and head. (I used this term and wanted to make sure everyone was clear on this). And facade means a trick, like to fool someone into thinking you're dumber than you really are so they will underestimate you in a trivia game or something. AND Malachite and Zoisite are a gay couple in this fic (that's a first for me). The Call of Destiny Part 3 Tuxedo Mask stood at the bottom of a tall castle. He was looking up at the girl again. He was surrounded by a knee-high mist. The girl was merely a silhouette against a light backdrop of the inside of the castle. She had long pigtails, and her gown seemed to sparkle. "Set me free," the princess softly called. "Find the crystal... Set me free..." "You will be free," Tuxedo Mask said. The mist faded, as did all of his surroundings. Soon, he was in a dark room. It was so dark, it was pitch black. A figure appeared in front of him. It was a bust image of Zoisite. "Hello, Darien," he said. Darien shot up in bed. His breathing was deep and heavy. The dream had changed slightly this time. What did it mean? Did the Negaverse warriors know his identity? Or did it mean something else? Something possibly much worse? Darien got out of bed. He was wearing an old T-shirt and some boxer shorts. He had bandaged his head as well. It had stopped burning now, but he thought it best to leave the bandage on. Heaven only knew what kind of scar would be left. Darien went to his window and looked out at the star-studded sky. The moon was in it's first-quarter phase. The city was lit up with lights in virtually every window. The sky was cloudless, save one hovering on the lower portion of the crescent moon. < How could I have been so stupid? Zoisite played me for a fool. I should have known he wouldn't fight fair. And Serena... Serena is Sailor Moon. And Rei is Sailor Mars! Amy and Lita are Soldiers too! But that new girl... Is she really on our side? Or is it a facade? > Mina and the other Soldiers, now bandaged, sat around Serena, watching her. She had not come to yet. Rei's ankle had definitely been broken. She had called a doctor on Lita's new cell-phone. He had came and put her leg in a cast. Rei's Soldier days were put on hold. The other Soldiers were luckier. Amy had a burnt chest. Luckily they were minor burns. Lita had a few bruised ribs. Serena was the worst. Not only a few broken ribs, but also a good-sized concussion and she was not going to wake up any time soon. The doctor said it wasn't like a full coma. She was in a dream state, and it was like she was merely sleeping normally. Her head was bandaged heavily. The doctor said that with any luck, she would awaken within twenty-four hours. If not, she was to be taken to the hospital to be kept under constant observation. "So," Mina said. "Is that a typical fight for you guys?" "No," Lita said, holding her ribs in a constant, throbbing pain. "We usually win. But lately, they've gotten stronger by the fight." "Who was the fire-shooter?" "That was Zoisite," Amy replied. "The other one was Malachite. We think he's the strongest warrior in the Negaverse." "And Zoisite was the one kicking your asses." Amy and Rei shot glances at Mina that said "Don't remind us." "Hey, sorry," Mina said. "But it's true." "We didn't know he had fire shooting capabilities," Amy said. "At least he doesn't have a force-field ability like Malachite." Malachite and Zoisite were celebrating their minor victory over the Soldiers and Tuxedo Mask. If it hadn't been for Venus, they would have gotten the crystals in a matter of minutes. "Zoisite, I want to congratulate you. You seem to have mastered your elemental. Now fire is at your command, and the Soldiers will be at your mercy." "Yes," Zoisite said, content in his eyes. "But I want to learn more. I want to be able to use a force-field. Like you." "Hang on Zoisite. A force-field cannot be learned. You must be born with it. You know you have if, when you get really scared, one surrounds you. Then, if you have it, I can teach you how to control it. But I can't do anything unless you already posses the power." Zoisite looked down at the ground. "Oh Malachite... Surely I must have it! I must! If I don't, then there's a chance the Soldiers could get a few lucky shots on me and kill me." "Zoisite..." Malachite made a pink rose appear in his hand and handed it to him. "I can't tell you if you are born with it, but just remember, I will always be there to help you if you are in trouble." Zoisite accepted the rose, and looked at Malachite's eyes. "Oh Malachite..." The two embraced and kissed. "One day, I hope to rule the Negaverse by your side." Malachite broke away, but continued holding Zoisite by the shoulders. "Don't say that out loud. If Beryl heard you... There would be hell to pay." Zoisite just stared at Malachite. "OK." Darien looked up from his book he was reading in the park when he heard the calling of his name. He saw her coming. "Hi Lita." "Darien..." Lita noticed the bandages. "Um... what the hell happened to you?" "Well it's not getting slammed against the temple, but it was a nice fireball to the face." He gave her a look. She knew what he was talking about. "So you're," she said, and then only mouthed the next words, "Tuxedo Mask!?" "Uh huh," Darien nodded. "And you're," Darien mouthed the next words, "Sailor Jupiter." "Yep." Lita grinned. "So you know..." "I know about everybody. Even Serena." "Oh. Well, did you introduce yourself to Mina?" "Huh?" Darien took a second to think. < Mina... oh, right! Venus... > "Not exactly. I don't trust her." "What?" Lita sat down. "Why?" "Well, I thought all of the Soldiers were supposed to be revealed already. And then she shows up... I can't help but think that the Negaverse is stooping to a new low to get us off our guard." Lita just gave Darien a look that clearly meant "you're full of it." "Well, if you gotta believe that. But just give her a chance. OK?" "Fine. Hey, what did you want to talk to me about?" Lita's expression became grim. Darien walked in the hospital room to see all of Serena's friends surrounding her bed. She was strapped to a life-support system, and she was tied down. "Darien," Rei said from her new wheel-chair. "What are you...?" Lita soon came in. "Guys, I'd like you to meet a good friend of the Sailor Soldiers." Darien noticed Mina was there, and quickly interrupted. "Actually, more like a fan. Are you guys fans too?" Lita looked at Darien, puzzled. She finally figured out what he was doing. "Yeah," Lita said. "We're all fans. Even Serena." "Hey, what happened to Serena, anyway?" Darien asked. "Well," Amy said. "She was hurt. I think she... fell down some stairs. She slipped into a coma an hour ago, and started going into convulsions." < I can't believe Amy didn't figure this out, > Darien thought. < She's the smart one. Serena figured it out... Serena... > Now he felt sick. It wasn't a normal sickness, like the stomach or the head. He felt sick in his heart. But why? He didn't have feelings for her. The doctor came in. "I'm sorry, but you'll all have to leave. Visiting hours are over." Mina pushed Rei out the door, and Amy and Lita followed. Darien walked over to the doctor. "Can I ask you a question?" "Sure." "Is she gonna make it?" "Hard to say. But if she does, and you knew her well, be prepared for a big change. It's possible that she won't even be able to talk. The tests aren't back yet, but... She could have brain damage. We're not sure." Darien looked at the doctor for a second, and then slipped out the door. Malachite stood before Queen Beryl. She had watched the Soldiers in the last fight. And she had seen them power down. "Malachite, the girl who is Sailor Moon is called Serena. And she's in the hospital. Zoisite may have actually killed her. They think she is going to die." "That is good news, my queen." "NO! We need her alive. I didn't see Tuxedo Mask power down. If she can fight, then he will help her. But if she dies, we might lose our pawn in getting to him!" "My queen, there are other ways to get him--" "Listen to me! If she dies, then Zoisite dies. We still Sailor Moon!" "I understand, my queen. I will send Zoisite to her and make her start killing Sailor Moon before she dies. Tuxedo Mask will come, and we can get the crystals and kill sailor Moon in one stoke." Beryl had a content look come over her face. "That is a plan I like. Just make sure she doesn't die before he gets there." "Yes my queen," Malachite said with a bow. He then disappeared. Zoisite appeared beside Serena. The room was empty, and Serena was calmly sleeping at the moment. Zoisite blasted her with invisible energy. It wouldn't kill her, and he knew it. But it would make sirens go off in Tuxedo Mask's head. Darien shot up in bed. "Serena!" He ran to his balcony, and jumped down to the ground. He transformed into Tuxedo Mask before landing gracefully on the street. He hopped on his motorcycle and sped to the hospital. Tuxedo Mask arrived at the hospital in only a couple of minutes. He looked up at Serena's window. It was open. He prepared to jump up to it. "Not so fast!" Malachite grabbed Tuxedo Mask by the cape-fasteners and lifted him upward. "Give me the crystals, and we let her live. We can even heal her for you, but first give us the crystals!" < Serena's in danger... Maybe I should just give him the crystals. It's not worth it... > "All right! Let me go and the crystals are yours!" "No! Give me the crystals and then I let you go!" They both heard a voice. "Venus Crescent Beam Smash!" The beam seared right through Malachite's arms. He let Tuxedo Mask go as he howled in pain. "Sailor Venus!" Tuxedo Mask shouted. "Boy am I glad to see you!" "Just passing through. Thought you could use my help." "Right. I'm gonna save Serena. Zoisite's up there. You deal with Malachite." "Sure." Tuxedo Mask jumped up to Serena's window. Seconds later, a very surprised Zoisite came flying out, and landed on his back on the concrete sidewalk. "Zoisite!" Malachite cried as he saw blood coming from her head. It had split open. Malachite rushed over to Zoisite, and held him in his arms. "Zoisite, don't die! Please, don't die...." Malachite was weeping. "I... didn't feel... him...." Zoisite closed his eyes. Malachite watched as he faded away, his blood remaining on his hands. "No, Zoisite! Don't go... ZOISITE!!!!!" Malachite cried. The security staff came out and saw the scene. Sailor Venus was watching. "You there!" Venus saw they were speaking to her. She ran. "Hey, stop!" The staff ran after her. Tuxedo Mask watched the whole thing from Serena's window. She had stabilized. The energy blasts had been weak. That was good. Tuxedo Mask turned his attention to Serena. He began seeing the dream play again in his mind. < The crystals! > Tuxedo Mask looked out the window again. Malachite was still there, horrified. The crystals had been in Zoisite's possession. And now they were floating where he had once been. Tuxedo Mask jumped down, and grabbed the crystals. Now he had all seven rainbow crystals. "Thanks, buddy," he said. "You bastard! You killed him!" Malachite grabbed Tuxedo Mask by the throat and threw him a distance of nearly fifty feet before Tuxedo Mask smashed into a tree. The tree was shaken so hard that many leaves and branches fell. Tuxedo Mask tried to get up, but he felt constant energy blasts hitting him. Malachite then held out his hand, and all seven rainbow crystals flew into his hand. "I should have told you I have telekinesis. I'll be seeing you around!" Malachite disappeared. The rest of the Soldiers, except Mars, showed up on the scene. "What happened?" Mercury asked. "I killed Zoisite," Tuxedo Mask. "But Malachite got the crystals." The Soldiers' faces all became grim. Now they were in for it. To Be Continued... Well, that was nice. I hope you enjoyed it. I liked writing it. Anyway, have a nice day! Welcome to part 4 of this little fanfic. I really hope you have liked it so far. Wasn't the last part exciting? Good. Due to one scene (and you should imagine it using very good mental camera angles to avoid seeing everything), and some graphic violence, I must rate this as PG-15. Or, if you want, you can call it NC-17. I don't care. But I think that's pushing it. Without further ado, I present the exciting conclusion to.... The Call of Destiny Part 4 Serena awoke to find that everything was hazy. Her vision was blurred. Nothing but mere outlines of things... Shadows where people should be. Her hearing was intact, however. She could hear what the people were saying. "This is surprising. There's no brain damage, and the concussion seems to be disappearing at an accelerated rate. She could wake up soon." "That's good." Serena knew that second voice! Rei! "That's a relief." Darien! Her vision started coming back. She noticed that only the backs of the three people were facing her. They hadn't seen her eyes open. Serena opened her mouth to speak, but found that she was too weak to talk. She noticed Rei was sitting. "And you," the doctor said, turning his attention to Rei. "Make sure you stay off that foot. The more it rests the faster that bone will reconnect itself." "Right." < Rei's leg is broken? > Serena found enough strength to groan. Darien was the first to turn. He saw her open eyes. "Serena! You're awake!" The doctor turned, and Rei turned her wheel-chair as fast as she could. Serena nodded slightly. "Serena," Rei said. "Can you speak?" A simple shake of the head. "Oh..." "All right. I'm going to go to another patient. You two can stay for a few minutes, but then she needs her rest." "All right," Darien and Rei said in unison. The doctor left and Darien and Rei looked at Serena. They were glad to see she was doing better. And now she was awake. "Serena," Darien said. "...Sailor Moon..." Serena's eyes widened from surprise. "I saw you power down while you were unconcious. I know who everybody is." "Serena," Rei said. "Darien, er, Tuxedo Mask, killed Zoisite. But... The Negaverse still got the crystals." Serena could show no response. "Well," Darien said. "We'll be going now. You need your rest." Darien wheeled Rei out after they both said goodbye. Serena laid on the hospital bed, staring at the ceiling. She couldn't sleep. She HAD to get up. She had to go help the Soldiers. She had a fight to finish! She had no strength. Serena found it impossible to get up. Each time she tried, she only got her head a couple of inches from the pillow before collapsing back down. < Damn it! > Serena turned to look out the window. There was nothing she could do. < All right guys. It's up to you. Don't let them win... > Malachite had just finished his report to Queen Beryl. Despite her words, she seemed to not care that Zoisite had been killed. "Such a pity. He showed so much promise." Malachite agreed there. But he knew that Beryl did not care. As long as the crystals were in her hands, she could then use them to free Metallia. Malachite guessed Beryl was trying to focus on the positive. He was wrong. < Not that I CARE that he died. The crystals are here now. > Beryl looked at Malachite. "Now, Malachite. I recently saw Tuxedo Mask with my powers. And I saw him power down. I now know who he is, and I know I want him brought here." "My queen, he's responsible for Zoisite's death. I feel we should kill him along with the Soldiers." "No! Tuxedo Mask is known as Darien in his world. And I know his face. It is the face of Prince Endymion. He will be brought here to rule the Negaverse and his world by my side." Malachite boiled inside. < STUPID!! He needs to DIE!! > "Very well, my queen." Malachite disappeared. Malachite appeared in a dark room. It was lit a little, but an ordinary person would have had trouble seeing. He walked over to a picture on the western wall. On it was Zoisite, standing next to him. "Zoisite... No matter what, I will avenge you. Your death will not be in vain..." Malachite held the picture in his hands. He clutched it close to his chest; close to his heart. His eyes flashed. "I WILL kill Tuxedo Mask. Even if it means I must die at Beryl's hands." Darien sat on his sofa, taking his bandage off. It stuck a little to his burns, but other than that, the bandage came right off. The whole time, he was thinking about Serena. Every time he started thinking of her, he remembered the dream. He saw the girl with long pig-tails. Then, suddenly, it occurred to him. "Oh my Gosh! Could... could SERENA be the girl in my dreams?" He immediately transformed into Tuxedo Mask; he would get to her sooner this way. He had to see Serena. He had to see if he was right. Serena was in a pure-white... something. It wasn't a room, but it didn't exactly feel like empty space, either. She was floating in the air. She felt air go against her bare feet. Why were her feet bare? She looked down to see that she was naked. This alarmed her at first, but then her alarm was calmed. < I am alone in this place. No one will see me. > She let her guard down and started enjoying this serene place. She closed her eyes and let the whiteness of it wrap around her body. She felt something coming toward her. Serena opened her eyes to see a bright white light, brighter and whiter if that was possible to conceive, rushing straight for her. She saw it coming closer, closer... It hit her and wrapped around her. Her body was glowing white. It almost blinded her. She felt power surging through her. And when the light faded, so did everything. Serena shot up in bed, and noticed her surroundings. She was alone in her dimly lit hospital room. "What... What the...?" Then it hit her. "I can talk!" She felt renewed. Like some other life form had given all its energy to her. She got out of bed. < The doctors will never let me leave... > She heard someone pull up outside. A motorcycle. She rushed to the window, more by instinct than thought. She saw him. Tuxedo Mask. He saw her. Serena. Sailor Moon. And against the background, she looked like... < It IS her! > "Serena, I've come to get you out of here!" Serena noticed that her hospital clothing was a bit drafty in the back. "Hang on!" She went to the door, and saw to the left of it a small cubby-hole. It contained her school-uniform. She slipped it on, and went back to the window. She called down. "I can't get out of here." "Serena, do you trust me?" "...Yes. Of course I trust you, Darien." "Then jump!" Serena knew it was her only chance to save her friends. So, on a mental count of three, she jumped. Tuxedo Mask caught her. "And please," he said as he gazed into her eyes. "Call me Tuxedo Mask when I look like this." Serena and Tuxedo Mask got on the motorcycle. Serena wrapped her arms around his waist. It felt so warm, so comforting. "Hold on tight," he said. He sped off on his bike. Serena felt like she could hold him forever... Even if it was Darien. Malachite appeared in Serena's former holdings. She was not there. The doctor came in. "Hey, where's the girl?" asked the frightened doctor. It wasn't every day that he saw a man with white hair, eyes, a gray uniform that was unbuttoned at the top and flowing cape. Then again, it wasn't every day Malachite saw a scrawny, 150-pound doctor with huge glasses and a white jacket and a clip-board. Malachite was definitely scarier. "Apparently she's not here," Malachite retorted. "Wh--What did you do?" "Nothing. But I will..." Malachite slowly to the frozen-stiff-from-fear doctor, and picked him up by the shirt collar. "Make your life a living hell if you ask me one more thing," he finished. "C--can I say something?" "You just asked me one more thing." Malachite let his energy flow forth. He did not want to use his elemental just yet. So, he merely made the doctor begin to shake from his negative energy. Malachite really poured it on, and soon the doctor had went mad. Malachite threw him down. "Now that you're insane, I can do this to put you out of your misery." Malachite's eyes glowed, and he struck the mad doctor with repeated blasts of black lightning. The doctor was dead in no time, and Malachite disappeared. He used something he had learned from Nephlite. He used his power to make everyone at the hospital forget the screams they had just heard. Even in death, Nephlite had proved to be useful, if only for one occasion. Now to get Tuxedo Mask and make him have a bad... accident. Tuxedo Mask sped toward Rei's house. "You sure they'll all be there?" he shouted over the roar of his motorcycle. "Yeah! They were gonna work on trying to figure out how we can get the crystals back!" "OK!" Within the next few minutes, Tuxedo Mask and Serena arrived at the temple. They got off the motorcycle to the enthusiastic cries of "Serena!" from all the Soldiers. Even the new one, Mina. "Hey girl!" Lita called. "Glad you're doing better!" Serena noticed that all the Soldiers looked brand new. "You guys healed quick too, huh?" "Yeah. We're Sailor Soldiers," Rei said. "Healing quickly comes with the territory. My leg feels better, but it's still a little hurt. I can't jump around on it a lot." "Other than tat, we're fine," Amy said. "Hey Tuxedo Mask, or should I say Darien?" "You figured it out at last, huh?" Tuxedo Mask said. "Actually, I told them," Lita said. "So, got any ideas on how to get the crystal back, anybody?" No one answered. They heard a booming voice. "You want the crystals? You'll have to fight me for them!" Malachite appeared in mid-air about ten feet away from the Soldiers. The whole gang got ready to transform. "No!" Malachite shouted. "I want to fight him!" he said as he pointed to Tuxedo Mask. "Just the two of us. Winner takes all!" Tuxedo Mask took out his cane. He could feel power surging through his arms. The cane glowed a bit before changing into a sword. He felt something go through him. He felt old memories returning. After a brief time, Tuxedo Mask changed into another form. He changed into who he was a thousand years ago. "You'll be fighting me as Prince Endymion!" < I remember!! > The prince stood in a battle-ready stance. "Come and get me!" "No need." Malachite shot black lightning at Endymion, who skillfully and gracefully dodged. His breast-plate seemed weightless to him. His flowing cape made a wind-whipping noise as he moved quickly. Endymion rushed at Malachite, and swung the sword at him. He missed completely. Malachite had in one motion ducked, stuck his left leg out and whirled around. Endymion fell on his back, but quickly sprang to his feet. Another swing. Another miss. "You can't beat me!" Malachite formed two purple swords, one for each hand. He began swinging wildly in a frenzied effort to quickly dispatch Endymion. Endymion jumped back. He jumped up a bit, and kicked off of the temple wall. He swung his sword down at Malachite, striking his shoulder. Malachite howled. "You will not defeat me!" Malachite's swings grew wider and heavier. He shot lightning from his eyes. Endymion seemed to be able to see this all before any of it happened, as he dodged everything. "Yes!" Endymion struck Malachite again. This time, he hit the other shoulder. "I will!" Malachite stepped back. Blood ran from his shoulders, and was dripping on the ground. "Good thing Grandpa took my advice," Rei said as she watched in awe. "What was that?" Lita said, unknowingly. "He went on a long vacation." The battle still raged on. Malachite wasn't about to give up. He threw his swords at Endymion, who dodged. The swords lay on the ground. Malachite's eyes flashed, and his swords came back. Endymion did not see them. "AAAHHH!!!" he screamed as the swords ripped through his back and stomach. "NOOO!!! DARIEN!!!" Serena shouted. Endymion fell to the ground. Malachite looked evilly at his fallen opponent. Serena held him in her arms as he turned back into Tuxedo Mask, and then into Darien. "Now you will know what it was like for Zoisite that night. What it is like to die. And you, Sailor Moon, will feel the pain I have felt from Zoisite's death. You will grieve. Then I will be back to kill you. Queen Beryl wanted him back to work for us. But I was in charge of his fate. As I am in charge of yours. I will be back." < Oh no, > Luna thought. < Queen Beryl came with them. This is worse that I thought. > Malachite felt something move. Actually, he felt seven things move. The crystals shot from his hold on them. "No!" he shouted. The crystals formed a pattern where six of them circled the seventh one. Each one glowed. Then, the six outer ones made a single loop before joining with the first. As Serena was crying, many tears fell from her face. But one of them was hit by the seven connected crystals. In a flash of bright light, they formed one larger crystal. "Oh my Gosh!" Luna exclaimed. "It's the Silver Imperial Crystal!" Malachite rushed forward. "It will be mine!!!" As soon as he got near it, the pure positive energy that was radiating from the crystal sent him back. The crystal fused with Serena's transformation broach. Her clothing flew off and was replaced by a long, flowing white gown. "It's Princess Serenity! Serena was the Moon Princess all along!" Luna exclaimed. Beryl had seen the entire scene. She did not want the princess, but the prince... And Malachite! She had to punish him for his disobedience. Her eyes flashed red. Darien and Malachite both flickered in and out a few times before disappearing for good. The princess transformed back into Serena, who immediately collapsed on the ground. "Serena!" Rei cried as she rushed out to her friend. She then realized Serena had just passed out and would be fine when she awoke. As for Darien, no one had any idea. Malachite and Darien appeared before Queen Beryl. She had a few youma immediately take him to the special place where she would keep him... And brainwash him. She had a special youma close his wound so he would not die. "Malachite," she said coldly as she turned her immediate focus on the rebel. "You disobeyed me. I told you to bring him here!" "But my queen! He needed to be--" "Silence! I hope you want to see Zoisite again, because you are going to meet her in hell sooner than you think!" "My queen, no! NO!" Queen Beryl held out her hand, and tiny bursts of blue light hit Malachite. He felt his insides melting. He screamed from agony. Each scream was so blood-curdling that many youma felt sick from it. Queen Beryl watched in disappointment. Malachite's screams were silenced. With his last scream, the blue lights that had hit him and made his insides turn to pudding shot back out of his body. There were about twenty holes in his body now, each of which let some of his innards spill out. He fell face first on the floor before his body disappeared forever. "Somebody clean that mess up," Beryl said. She arose from her throne and went to be by Darien. The contraption Darien was in was working. Soon, his mind would belong to her. "I will rule both the Negaverse and the Universe. And Prince Endymion will be by my side. As my King." Serena awoke in Rei's bed. Once again, she found herself being the center of attention. She quickly remembered what happened. And she remembered her past life, and who she was in love with. "Where is he? Where is Darien?!" She was clearly worried. Mina walked over to her. "Serena, there's no easy way to say this...." Mina's eyes held an expression of hoplessness. "They...... They got him...." All of the gang went to try to comfort Serena. But she broke away. Serena ran out of the temple, and fell to her knees at the exact spot she had held Darien. She looked up at the sky, and let out a mournful, piercing scream. "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Her tears flowed rapidly from her eyes, down her face, and to the earth. "DON'T TAKE HIM FROM ME!!!" Serena was bawling like a baby. And for once, Rei supposed, she deserved to. End. Yeah, you thought this would all turn out happy didn't you? Well, it didn't! This does leave room for a sequel, or I can quit right there. Let me know what to do! Email me at prince_darien@senshi-mail.zzn.com to let me know. Thank you.
