Sailor Moon: Body Swap. by B&M. "I suppose that you have a way to gather more human souls to feed the Negatree, dear brother," Anne said to her brother Alan as they both sat under the tree that kept them both alive. "Indeed I do, my dear sister," he answered, "and not even that meddling tramp, Sailor Moon, will be able to stop us this time." He then shuffled a deck of cards, cut them a few times, and spread them on a nearby table. Anne then picked one in the middle as Alan picked up his magic flute and began playing an errie tune from it. There was a blinding flash, and there stood in place of the card was an ominous looking figure completely covered in a black hood and robe except for his two bony hands. "Meet our new cardian, Reaper," said Alan proudly of his new evil creation. "He has the power to siphon off the life- forces of all living things and transfer them to others, including the Negatree. And if those Sailor bimbos dare to try and stop him, he will make their souls into plant food as well." The next morning found the alarm clock going off at 7:00 a.m. in Serena's bedroom. She quickly woke up, got dressed, ate a quick breakfast, and dotted out the door as fast as she could. In her rush, she accidentally woke up her cat, Luna, who then ran after her as she tried to catch up with her to tell her something, but it was no use. Serena was going to be early for school today for once if it was the last thing she did. She did make it to the school half an hour early, but she found the building empty and the doors locked. Luna then finally caught up with her and said after catching her breath, "The school is closed, Serena. It's Saturday." "Now she tells me!" muttered Serena when suddenly she heard people screaming. Curious, she and Luna went down the block to discover the Reaper trying to drain countless innocent people of their souls. "It's a cardian!" shouted Luna. "We'll need our old friend to deal with him. It's time to summon Sailor Moon." Serena agreed. She held out her magic brooch and shouted, "Moon crystal power!" But before she was able to transform, the Reaper tried to drain her soul. There was a blinding flash followed by a colorful explosion which quickly knocked out both Serena and Luna, and it drove the Reaper away in a panic. About a hour later, they both woke up, and they found themselves surrounded by their friends Amy Anderson, Raye Hino, Lita, Mina, Serena's beau Darien, and Luna's mate Artemis who asked, "Are you girls all right?" "I'm fine, Artemis," answered Luna as she held up her paws to lick them, but she soon saw to her horror that instead of paws, she had two hands. Serena's hands. "I think we might have a slight problem here," said Luna with her own voice coming out of Serena's mouth. Everyone just stared at her in total shock except the still dazed Serena who was just coming to in Luna's body. Serena finally came to her senses, and she saw everybody looking at her with strange expressions on their faces. "What?" she asked, "I didn't get bruised, did I?" Darien said nothing, but he did point to a nearby mirror. Serena took just one look at her reflection in it, and she immediately bust into tears> "I'm a cat!" she wailed. "Crying won't help us, Serena," said Luna. "We have to think. The power of the brooch must have caused the Reaper's powers to transfer our souls into each other instead of him." Artemis began to think as he had a big stupid smile on his face. "Well, Serena," he said, "as long as you're inside Luna, what do you say we..." Darien, Serena, Luna, and Mina kept him from completing his sentence by shouting together, "Don't get any ideas!" "Well, it was worth a try," Artemis said as a gave out a sheepish grin that made him look like a Cheshire cat. "I'm afraid that you two will have to pretend to be each other until we find a way to change you back," Raye said to them. "Serena, do you think that you can walk on four legs?" "Are you kidding? " Artemis asked. "She can't take ten steps on two legs without tripping, let alone four." After lots of practice and tripping, however, Serena did manage to walk on all fours and pass herself off as a cat. To her own surprise, she did adjust to life as a feline; however, she did dread baths when she used to love them before, and there was the problem of being chased by an occasional dog. Luna had to adjust to life as a human as well, and she managed to pass herself off as Serena quite nicely until the day a mouse ran loose in the classroom. The other girls panicked while Luna pounced on the mouse and ate it much to the Sailor Scouts' embarrassment. This new way of living went on for two months with nobody suspecting a thing until one day when Serena was watching Ramona 1/2 on television. She heard Shampoo complain about being a woman in a cat's body, and she was only able to sigh and reply, "Yes, I know the feeling." Suddenly, Luna burst in and shouted, "Serena, the Reaper is back! The Sailor Scouts are out fighting him now, and they could defeat him, but they need Sailor Moon!" "How can I become Sailor Moon when I'm in your body?" asked Serena. " Maybe if you transform, it could cause us to switch back to normal," Luna replied without much optimism in her voice as she took the magic brooch out of her pocket. "Keep your fingers crossed!" "I would if I still had any. MOON CRYSTAL POWER!" In a blinding flash, the teenage girl's presence was replaced by the heroic figure of Sailor Moon, princess of the Moon and champion of justice. Serena and Luna were both shocked, however, to see themselves still in each other's bodies. There was no time to figure out another plan. Luna had to go and fight the cardian herself as Sailor Moon. She then rushed to the scene of battle with Serena close at her heels. They both arrived not a moment too soon. The Sailor Scouts all fought valiantly, but they still took a terrible beating from the Reaper. "Stop this at once! I am Sailor Moon, and in the name of the Moon, I will punish you!" announced Luna as she tried to sound more like Serena than Serena. The Reaper obviously wasn't impressed. He held out his hand, and he attempted to drain Luna's soul, but she quickly jumped out of the way. Luna was very surprised by her human form's great agility. She wondered how Serena can eat so much junk food and yet keep her body in such great shape. The Reaper was about to try again when a mysterious man dressed in Arab robes suddenly appeared out of the sky. "It's the Moonlight Knight!" Serena shouted with joy as he threw down a white rose that gave out a blinding flash when it landed on the ground. An instant later, both the Moonlight Knight and his rose were gone, and Serena and Luna were left just standing there in their own bodies. Being back to normal gave Serena a new sense of confidence. "Okay, Luna!" she said. "I'll take over from here. You go find someplace safe." "Oh, sure," Luna said jokingly. "Fight him now that I wore him down for you." "And don't think that I don't appreciate it," she replied as she took out her magic scepter and shouted "Moon scepter elimination!" as the Reaper disintegrated into a huge pile of moondust that quickly blew away in the wind. One hour later, Anne and Alan were yelling loud enough to wake up the whole city as they blamed each other for another failed scheme. The next morning, Serena and Luna were home discussing how great it was to be themselves again as Luna gave herself a manicure and painted her claws and Serena began to sharpen her fingernails on the sofa.
