Konnichiwa Friends! Sailor Moon Remembered Senshi is my very first fanfic, but I'm not going to ask that everyone be nice. You can be down right brutal about it if you like! I'm very proud of it, and I know that sounds conceited, but it's the very first story I've ever really finished! You can place SMRS in the Sailor Moon time-line directly after the defeat of Beryl, and right before the beginning of the Alan and Anne arc of Sailor Moon R. Just in case you're wondering, Sailor Moon RS is NOT a self-insertion fic. Generally, those have no plot, and I truly detest stories without plots. I don't really know how to rate it for content. Just go ahead and read it, and if you find bunches of words you don't know, then maybe you're too young to read it (~_^). Oh, by the way, standard disclaimers apply, I don't own Sailor Moon (although I am negotiating with Disney . . .) Or any of the characters, I just borrowed them for a while. However, Terra, David, Celeus, Luttra, Jettra, Meattra, and Sailor Keeper do belong to me, as do all the other minor characters in this series that don't belong to someone else. Serena may seen like an incredible bubble-head in SMRS, but that was intended. No, I don't hate Sailor Moon, I like her, it's just that if you go back and look, Serena is a ditz in SM and SMR, so it reasons that I'm just keeping her in character. Please don't send me flames because you think I'm bashing Serena, I'm not. Just in case you're wondering, I use the North American names (although without DiC's creative spelling) and North American attacks. However, Ami's name remains Ami Muzino, and NOT Amy Anderson! (I'm sorry, just a smidge of venting). I spell Raye, Rei, so please don't complain about that either. Let's just say if you send me flames, make them legitimate ones. BTW, I'm looking for a composer to write music for my lyrics. I currently need music for Terra's song (Squirrel's Sonata/The Swallow of the Laterose), the Mirauet, the Sailor Ceres Image Song, and for the SMRS Closing theme (Forever). Anyone willing to help, PLEASE!!! You'll earn a friend for life! Oh, first one to trace the mythological significance of Terra, Celeus, Ceres, Sailor Keeper and the moon, and Lord Dis and e-mail me about it will win a cookie and a neat Sailor Moon Prize (~_^). I am very open to criticism (as long as it's not stupid criticism like, 'This story was dumb and I hated it') so feel free to 'mail me with any advice or ideas you may have. And yes, I do answer all my mail, even the flames. Anyway, you can contact me at Lindseybrowning@hotmail.com or Sailorceres@usa.net. I'd love it if you came to see my website too! It's at http://www.geocities.com/tokyo/garden/8378, and I'm very proud of it too! There's even a page dedicated exclusively to this series, with pictures, and music, and everything you ever needed to have concerning it. Well, Ja ne! Peace and Ceres Cosmic Power, Lady Ceres a.k.a. Lindsey Browning P.S. If you're looking for good fanfiction to read try Lady Jupiter and Fugishi Kismet. Also look for Lord Talon's stuff, and The Rose Garden. Stay away from anything with Ultra Crystal in the title and the Sailor Gemstones too. Don't go near Oscarfics or Dr. Thinker's stuff either. Just a little word to the wise for the intrepid fanfic traveler. P.P.S. If I have just trashed your work and you don't like it, please tell me. Don't worry, if you can prove to me that you actually can write decent things, I promise to make an Internet-televised apology. If you can't, I'll probably just laugh at you some more. P.P.P.S. Yes, I know that Ken has not yet been formally introduced in the Sailor Moon universe at the time this story takes place, but he doesn't have to be. Jupiter is the only one who sees him, and she's known him since childhood. P.P.P.P.S. The idea is that after the end of this series, when the other scouts are rewakened in Sailor Moon R, Terra isn't because the cats think she is leading a normal, happy life. However when trouble starts in Sailor Moon KOC, whoya gonna call but Sailor Ceres! P.P.P.P.P.S. Sailor Ceres (mine) is lots different from Sailor Ceres (manga). They both fit into my time-line, though. Sailor Ceres (mine) is first and she draws her power from the energy planet Ceres and later from the Jadestone. Manga Ceres comes later, and she draws her power from the asteroid Ceres, what's left of the planet. Thus, they both co-exist peacefully in Crystal Tokyo, eventually, but their homonymic names continue to cause confusion. Sailor Moon Says: Stay tuned Lady Ceres fans! As she was walking down the street a sudden and violent fainting fit came over her. With a strangled cry of agony, she passed out and fell right into the arms of a hapless college student who just happened by. "Excuse me, miss, are you all right?" asked David Hollins, bewildered. Getting no answer, he felt her pulse. It was thready and weak. Without another thought, he lifted her up and carried her into a nearby shop, where he called an ambulance. With a bizarre sense of responsibility and destiny, David Hollins decided to stay with the woman until she recovered. The girl had not yet recovered when the ambulance arrived, and a crowd of onlookers gathered to watch the girl carried into the ambulance and the young man climb in after the paramedic. One watcher went unnoticed with his flashing golden eyes and flipping tail, as the ambulance left, he did as well, waddling along, hanging in the shadows. Opening Song (Moonlight Legend) Series Title, Sailor Moon: Remembered Senshi Episode Title: (1) A Rebel Returns "How is she, sir?" asked David Hollins as he paced up and down the waiting room in the intensive care unit. "No change young man," said the old doctor for the third day in a row, "Her coma is deep, but stable. It might help us if we knew more of her medical history. Are you sure you have no idea who she is?" "No, sir. She just fell on me, in the street," said David Hollins for the third time in as many days. "It's amazing that you've taken such interest in a girl you don't know." said the doctor, scooting a pair of pierce -nez back up his nose, "You're not that desperate are you?" Rather embarrassed, Hollins replied, "Of course not. I just feel responsible for her. Can I see her yet?" "Not tonight," said the doctor, "If she remains stable I'll move her out of the ICU and into a private room tomorrow. You may see her then. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have my rounds." Without another word, the doctor left David standing in the deserted waiting room. With a sigh, David picked up his books and went home. ~*~ No one, excepting hospital staff, was allowed to enter the ICU, but a shadow with a sharp mind made it in. Using his mind because his pudgy body was not up to the task, a ruffled jet black cat jumped onto the unknown girl's bed. Deftly he placed a paw on the girl's forehead. A faint glow came in an odd sigil on the girl's head, and for a brief instant, her vital signs perked almost to normal. Weakly her lids opened to reveal a pair of blue-gray-green eyes that begged for help. "I knew it!" the cat muttered to himself, "She's the one." Suddenly, the cat heard footsteps approaching and with a start, he dove under the bed. A hospital intern entered and the cat watched a pair of feet breathlessly.. When the intern's back was turned, a waddling fur-ball lolloped out from under the bed and was out the door and down the stairs before the intern even thought to look. ~*~ On silent feet, the cat padded through the streets of the city, being driven by an instinct that even he questioned. "Is it real?" he wondered, "Can they all still be alive?" He continued on. Suddenly, his feeling bade him stop, and he found himself standing in front of a modest house in the suburbs of the city. With some difficulty the cat leaped up a tree and managed to climb onto the roof. He quietly snuck over to a place beyond the chimney, where he heard voices. He listened. "Oh, but Artemis, I feel it. I know she was destroyed, but I feel her power still," said the first voice, a feminine tone. "Luna, you are such a worrier. We finally defeat Beryl and restore peace to the universe and you still get bad vibes," chided the second, a male. "I can't help it, I know I feel something," she replied. "Maybe it was all that fish you ate yesterday. I'm not sure all that tuna was good for you," he offered. "Artemis! Be serious!" chirped Luna, "If this is what I think it is, then the Scouts won't have their blissful ignorance for long." The black cat took this opportunity to make himself known. He casually walked around the chimney, seated himself in front of the two other cats, and placidly began bathing his tail. The effect this had on the other two cats was electric. "Celeus!" cried Luna, "But you're dead! Celeus, is that you?" "I could say the same thing of you, Luna," said the black cat, blinking, "But, no, I'm not dead." "How is this Celeus?" asked Artemis, "Ceres was completely destroyed. Our reports listed no survivors." "Then your reports were wrong. When Ceres exploded something happened. I think it was a distortion of the space-time continuum," replied the pompous, learned cat, "Any way, I was flung off the planet. Before the true energy destruction began, I blacked out. I think I was hurled through time and space because when I woke up, I was here. That is future, er, present day earth. I first woke around six months ago and since then I've been trying to locate others who were flung through the space-time hole too. I didn't believe that I was the only one who had escaped the holocaust of Ceres, and now I have proof that I'm not." "Go on Celeus," said Luna, leaning forward, her eyes like pie plates,"I can't stand the suspense. Tell me who you've found." "Promise to let bygones be bygones?" asked Celeus delicately. Luna and Artemis exchanged looks. After a moment, they nodded in unison. Celeus cleared his throat and looked at them deeply, "I've found Princess Terra." "The sixth Scout!" exclaimed Artemis. "Sailor Ceres!" cried Luna, "But we thought she was dead!" "Well, you thought I was dead too, five minutes ago," pointed out Celeus. "Does she know who she is?" asked Luna. "She's very ill." answered Celeus, "She's in a coma at the county hospital. However, when I touched her, she opened her eyes, and they were obviously royal eyes. If she doesn't know now, she will soon. I think she's remembering as we speak. But she's very weak. She needs help, and I'm sure now that I've found you two, who I thought were dead, the Moon Princess Serenity must still be alive as well. What news have you of the Queen? I thought for sure the force that ripped Ceres apart would do the same to Serenity's realm. No, it was not my pessimism, Luna, I had a premonition." In the days of the Silver Millennium, Celeus had been famous for his gift of prophecy. Luna smiled weakly with tears in her eyes as Artemis related the story of the end of the Moon Kingdom. "So, Princess Serenity will have to heal Terra then." said Celeus resolutely. "I'm sorry. None of the Scouts remember any of their powers. After the defeat of Beryl, they all forgot everything. I'm worried though. I sense some evil approaching. It may not be Beryl, but it's something truly evil, and the scouts may not be ready for it. If only you had the Emerald Memory Stone, Celeus," Luna sighed heavily, "I'm only giving myself false hope. There is no way you managed to bring any of Ceres' treasures." Suddenly Celeus brightened, "Oh, but Luna, I didn't tell you. My negative space pocket was uninjured in the blast. You know how they follow the soul of the carrier? Well mine followed me to earth. I have the Ceres Power Key, the Ceres Star Wand, the Ceres Crystal Amulet, and many of the other treasures. Most important, I saved the Memory Stone. I can draw it out for you, if you wish." Artemis and Luna nodded in tandem. Celeus closed his eyes and willed the pocket to open. As if by magic, a small but deep black hole opened before him. He put his paw in the pocket to his shoulder and rummaged around with a concentrated look on his face. He got a triumphant look on his face and he pulled out the Memory Stone. Unfortunately, with the stone, he also pulled out a picture of a seductive looking white cat. Artemis wolf whistled and Luna scowled at him. Suddenly, Artemis' eyes widened and he exclaimed, "Hey, that looks like my sister, Phoebe!" Celeus looked embarrassed and shoved the picture back into the pocket. Artemis looked as if he was going to say something, but Luna cut him off, "Really you two, this is no time for an argument over Phoebe's honor. We have more important things to do! We have to wake the Scouts!" Setting aside their temporary differences, Artemis and Celeus both nodded. ~*~ David Hollins approached the hospital room door apprehensively. The clerk at the nurses' station had informed him of her room change. As the doctor predicted, she was still deep in a coma, but fortunately it continued to be a stable coma. He wasn't sure why he was so nervous. He didn't even know the girl. Reasons kept popping into his head, but after all, how could he mess up a meeting with a comatose girl? Whatever his logic was, he almost backed down three times before entering the small private room. The girl was stretched on a hospital be with various monitors hooked to her. Even in the papery hospital gown he could see her obvious beauty. In a way, the thin gown accentuated it. Her head rested on a pillow, with the blanket drawn halfway up her torso. He could see that her dark brown hair was no longer in the elaborate braid it had been in. Now it hung long, down her back and over her stomach. One small hand with slim, slender fingers was exposed over the thin blanket, but the needles going into it marred it's priceless beauty. He caught his breath. In all his time as a learned college rat, he had never been effected in this way before, and by a woman he'd only technically met. He felt irresistibly drawn to her. He moved closer to her so that he could feel the distinct aura of mysticism that surrounded her. He was impelled to touch her skin, which was a pale porcelain color, and so, he lifted his hand to her cheek. Her eyelids quivered as his hand drew near, and when he touched her, her eyes slowly opened. They were a shifting blue-gray-green color that reminded him of the sea. He drew his hand back in fear that she would be alarmed at his presence. "After all," he thought, "She doesn't even know me, and I was just stroking her cheek! Good job weenie! Sheesh, I messed up with a girl in a coma! Not only that she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen! I just blew my chance with the most beautiful woman in the world!" Contrary to his fears, she just regarded him calmly. He began trying to explain himself in a rapid manner that made him look ridiculous, and she laughed. It was a musical sound that reminded him of bells, soft and light. The sound, however, also filled him with dread. "Jeeze, you messed up the excuse too. Now she's laughing at you! Not a very good sign!" he worried. He began again, trying to explain himself, but she raised her small hand with an amused and rather mischievous expression on her face. Her slightly crooked smile lighted him on fire. "God, she's gorgeous. Long, thick brown hair, and those eyes, I feel like I could drown in them, but that smile! God! And I blew it! How stupid am I!" he wailed to himself. To his surprise she said, "Don't look so uptight. I'm not angry with you. Oh, don't think that I don't get noticeably mad when I wake up and strange men are in my face, but something tells me you had completely honorable intentions." Her expression changed and she looked incredibly soulful and childlike. This look tore at his heart and he felt severely guilty for having anything but pure thought about her. "Am I right?" she asked in a slight, helpless voice that made him want to protect her. He couldn't speak. He just nodded silently, cursing himself inwardly for his failure to tell the truth. Her mischievous look returned, as did his passion. "Minx!" he thought, "She's playing games with me!" Despite his mock anger, he was loving every moment of their exchange. "May I trouble you as much as to know who you are?" she queried in a light tone, her slim dark eyebrows raised. He sighed heavily, and decided to try and tell the truth, however boring it was. He gathered his wits, and began. "My name is David Hollins. I am Sophomore at the University and am majoring in astrophysics. I am eighteen years old, and live with a charitable old woman whom I call Gram, and her bitter, aged poodle Frenchie. In my spare time I usually read, and work at the local computer store. I met you four days ago when you fainted on me and I brought you to the hospital. Now, I've been hanging around waiting for you to wake up because I feel we're connected in some way. That's why I'm here. Please, now that you have an advantage over me, can you forgive me for my intrusion?" he asked, hoping against hope. "All right, my knight in shining armor, I suppose that I can forgive you, since you did help me out when I was senseless, literally," she smiled at him lightly, then her brow contracted in a perplexed expression. "You say that I fainted? Can you tell me more about that?" she asked, concentrating on his face. He nodded, and proceeded to intone the previous four days happenings. After he had finished, she asked, "And I just collapsed?" He affirmed this, and she sighed. "What is it?" he asked. "It's just that I thought that I had gotten over my sicknesses. Ever since I was a child, I've been prone to illness. My parents both died of fevers in India. I was cursed with the same fair weather health as they. Ever since their deaths, when I was very young, my Uncle Hank has pulled me around from country to country, not only because of his business, but in hopes of finding some climate suitable for my health. I thought that we had found it here, but with this it seems that something is causing my weakness here as well. Although I must tell you that I feel like I have never felt before ever since I woke up. It's like I'm a new person, blessed with new energy," she breathed, and looked off into space abstractly over his shoulder. Suddenly her eyes cleared and she said, "They're coming!" He blinked rapidly and looked about himself to see who she could be referring to. He could see no one in the room, or in the hall way. He cocked his head and asked, "Who's coming?" She shook her head as if clearing out a dead thought. "What?" she asked. He looked even more bewildered. "You just said some one was coming," he said. She looked as puzzled as he did. "You're right, I did. I don't know where that came from. Sometimes thoughts just spring into my head like that and if it feels right, I say it," she looked deeply into his eyes, as if trying to see into his soul. "I don't know why I'm telling you this, it's rather embarrassing. Some how I feel that you already know. . . it's like we're connected in some way." Suddenly a blonde haired girl with two buns on either side of her head and two long pig tails trailing the ground, burst into the room. She was followed by a girl with a short blue bob who was hefting a picnic basket with both hands. After this girl came a young woman with a raven mane of hair down to the bottom of her brown skirt. Finally, another blonde with a red bow in her hair and a tall brunette with a pony tail came into the small room, crowding it. The first blonde burst in so fast that she tripped over a waste basket and fell flat onto the floor. This in turn caused the blue haired girl to fall, spilling the contents of her basket, three cats. The young woman had regarded this entire spectacle with an amused look on her face. Apparently little surprised her. She looked as if she regarded these bizarre girls as old friends, and their antics were not new to her. David realized that deep in her eyes there was a prevailing sadness that was very strange for one so young. She smiled weakly as she looked at the girls. They were all staring alternately between she and David Hollins. They had certainly not expected to find anyone here. Surprisingly, Terra solved the problem for them by asking, "I'm sorry David, could you leave us for a moment?" He nodded and silently left, knowing, or at least hoping from the promise of her eyes that she wished his return. He found an old comic book in the waiting room and settled to read about the adventures of Sailor V for a while. The girl looked at the black long haired cat that had fallen out of the basket, and asked, "So, my Celeus, you have returned?" The cat bowed and asked, "Your excellency has recovered her memory?" "Most of it Celeus, not all." She cast her eyes up to the girls crowded about the small room. "How is it that they are all here? Could it be that the terror missed the Kingdom of the Moon?" Once again, Artemis related the story of the Moon Kingdom. "Then," the girl said, looking about to the others, "You must be the other princesses of the solar system: Ami, logician of Mercury; Rei, firebrand of Mars; Lita, culinary mistress of Jupiter; and Mina, leader of the Scouts, of Venus." Her gaze shifted to the blonde girl with pig-tails, and the two symmetric buns on either side of her head. "And You must be the Moon Princess, Serenity." She bowed her head and said softly, "I, Terra of Ceres, re-pledge the fealty of my kingdom to that of yours, Serenity. I will be a Scout if you will have us back," she said, glancing at Celeus. This bewildered Serena so much that she got a huge sweatdrop and looked to Luna for help. Luna stepped forward and said, "With your pledge, Ceres need not stand alone any longer. Welcome Princess Terra, to the Sailor Scouts. You are Sailor Ceres, protector of the new green lands and of the earth that it grows in. Receive your transformation wand." Luna handed Terra the green and gold wand, and Terra smiled. Then Celeus whispered, "And so the inner circle closes. . ." End First Episode Roll Credits and play ending song (Forever). Lindsey Browning A girl, with two long blonde pigtails and a duo of small round buns perched on top, wailed as she raced down the street. Three other girls were waiting on the street corner for her. One of the girls had a short blue bob, another had a long, dark-brown braid, and the last, a tall girl, had a red-brown, unruly pony tail. They were all wearing school uniforms, and the blue-haired one was continually glancing at her watch. "What am I going to do?!?" cried Serena as she reached them, "WAAAAHHH!!!!" Tears fountained out of Serena's eyes as Ami asked, "What is it Serena? For once you are on time. Why are you crying?" "I just remembered that our big term paper is due next week, and I don't even have my sources yet!!!" wailed Serena, without stopping the flow of tears. "Serena!" cried Ami, "We've had five months to work on this paper! And you haven't even started! I'm only on my twenty-third draft and I don't think mine will be ready on time." "Yeah, Serena," said Lita, "I didn't like my topic at first, but then Miss Haruna let me change to the history of French food, and it's fun. I've learned alot. What's your topic?" Serena turned her hand over and looked, "The Origins of Early Socialism," she said, "Do you think that'll be an easy write?" Terra's eyes widened, "Well, Serena, I wouldn't say that. When I was a freshman, my topic was a doozy too, the Origins of Freud's Psycology. It took me five weeks to write it, not one. Anyway, it sounds like the hardest topic. How'd you get a doozy like that?" "I forgot all about choosing it until that day, so I got Melvin to think of one for me. Do you really think it will be that hard?" asked Serena. "Serena, can you even spell socialism?" asked Terra. Serena looked at her hand again. "Without your hand, Serena," said Ami sternly. Banging her fist into her hand and hurting it ("Ow!"), Serena yelled out, "Melvin!!!! You are toast!!!" Opening Theme (Moonlight Legend) Series Title, Sailor Moon: Remembered Senshi Episode Title, (2) Infinite Problems In the void of negative space, a woman floated slowly from side to side. Her unruly, fire-red hair flowed wildly down her back, and her clothing conjured a thought of the Dark Kingdom generals. Two shards of crystal floated above her hands, bathed in unearthly light. They had once been shining green, but now, they seemed to be almost diseased. One was continually rocked by wild black flashes, as if there was a battle raging on inside of it. The other looked as if a pink fleshy tumor was slowly devouring it. The color of the latter was not unlike raw meat. The woman laughed wildly and thrust her hands forward, causing the two crystals to rise up and float parallel in front of her. The two crystals had jagged lines, as if they were pieces of each other, but not complete. Two figures appeared in the shadows of the void. The woman laughed again, and beckoned, "Come out my servants. I call you out!" The figures slowly eased into the half-light, and the woman smiled a wicked smile. "The time has come, Chaos and Void. We must seek the last piece of the crystal." She twirled her hands around and a black wand streaked with silver with a meat-pink stone set atop appeared, accompanied by a volcanic-red stone. "Here is your changing stick, and this stone will help you in your quest. You must find the last piece of the crystal. This lava-red stone will react when you near the carrier of the final piece. I will check your progress from time to time. Now, my children, go and find the crystal." They nodded simultaneously. She opened a purple dimensional portal, and they stepped through it in unison. She laughed triumphantly as a deep blue shroud appeared behind her. The shroud disappeared and a slim man was left standing, staring at the back of her head. He was similarly clad, and his skin was chalk white and his eyes were a flat unemotional black. His hair was the same flat black and it clung to his head lifelessly. "They were not ready, Kazracite," he intoned in a flat voice that matched his eyes. The woman started, then turned in a whirl of fright and fury. Seeing the man, her fury turned to mocking contempt. "Oh, it's just you, Qintozite. I thought it was someone important." "You are lucky it wasn't Lord Dis. He wouldn't take to it kindly if he found that you'd sent his prize pupils out to capture that errant stone of yours." "It's none of his business what I do with them. They are mine. I found them and trained them to be who they are. For that matter, Qintozite, I don't see how it is any of your business either. Naverght left me in charge when he left. Since no one has heard anything of him for over a thousand years, I'd say that it's time for me to come into my power." "Naverght did not leave you in command. You are just under the delusion that he did because of your immature feelings toward him, which I may add, he never reciprocated." Kazracite flamed, literally, for when she was truly angry, the air around her had a way of combusting. "Naverght loved me! He would have done anything for me!" "Really? I thought he was rather taken with that woman from Ceres, or so I gleaned from Titanite's reports." "That's a lie! He never loved anyone but me!" "On the contrary, I believe he never loved anyone, period." With that, Qintozite raised his hand and disappeared in a shroud of midnight blue. "What does that sorry damnable creature know! Naverght loved me, I know, and when I get the Ceres Emerald Jadestone back, I will prove it!" she fumed and then she too disappeared in a burst of flame. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ With a supreme burst of her efforted run, Serena managed to get to class on time. She seated herself beside Molly as Miss Haruna called out her name on the roll call. "Present!" she responded jubilantly. Miss Haruna looked up for a moment, and then smiled, "I'm glad you FINALLY made it to school on time! Maybe putting Melvin beside you was a good idea." Miss Haruna had recently relocated Melvin to the desk beside Serena, in hopes that some of Melvin's habits would rub off on her. Miss Haruna sighed heavily and thought, "If habits were rabbits, no doubt Serena would have some, and some good ones at that." She finished the roll and was about to start the day's history lesson when the headmaster of the school popped his head in the door and inquired about the health of the class. Miss Haruna replied in a fidgety manner, "All is well." She had a sneaking suspicion he was going to ask a favor. Sure enough, he walked into the classroom followed by a young woman of about fourteen years. She was of average height, with cherry red hair pulled up into two pony tails that nearly brushed the ground. Her eyes were of a charming pink, and she was a bit chubby in some places. Her uniform fit her well, as if it had been custom tailored, and she had a bouncy countenance. She beamed, and her smiled was a thousand kilowatts. "Students," began the headmaster, "This is Luttra Mobius, she's a transfer student from, where did you say?" he asked, turning to look at her. "Austria!" was her bubbly reply. "Good," he turned back to the class, "Now I hope you make Luttra feel happy while she's here." Before Miss Haruna could reply, he escaped the room, leaving her to stare at the empty door way and her enthusiastic new student. After a moment's consideration, she placed her directly behind Melvin and beside Serena and Molly, whom she thought would be the most friendly. "Now students," said Miss Haruna, after that item had been attended to, "I'd like you all to stand and give me an account of your progress with your research projects. All except you of course, Luttra, you will be exempt from this assignment, since you haven't nearly time enough." An impish smile claimed Luttra's face as Miss Haruna spoke the words'not nearly time enough.' Miss Haruna called Melvin first. He gave a detailed account of his research into the social behavior of the naked mole rat and how it affected and mirrored the modern world. She then called Lita, who gave a thorough account of french food and announced that a great portion of her project would be samples, prepared authentically. Miss H nodded approvingly. Molly was next. Her paper was on ancient jewelry in Japan. She even had actual reproductions of pieces she could exhibit and explain. Miss H was pleased. After all the other students had been called, except Serena and Luttra. Miss Haruna looked around expectantly and asked, "Is there anyone else who hasn't gone?" Melvin helpfully raised Serena's hand, even though, Serena was trying hard(or so it seemed) to focus on her text. Miss Haruna then asked Serena to stand and recite. Serena was so absorbed in her math text that she didn't respond. Miss Haruna smelled a rat, or a rabbit more precisely. She snuck up behind Serena and looked over her shoulder. Sure enough, inside the text was a comic book called 'Child of the Star Rabbit' featuring a buxom young woman with long,cherry-red pigtails in a super heroine fuku holding a plucky, green rabbit-like creature on the cover. Miss Haruna got down close to Serena's ear (she, I should mention, was still oblivious to the entire matter) and yelled at the top of her lungs, "ARE YOU READY TO RECITE MISS TSUKINO!?!" Serena jumped straight into the air several feet, spilling her comic book and text onto the floor. She landed in a heap of arms and legs on the floor. Miss H confiscated the comic book and hauling her up, demanded Serena to recite. Serena looked about herself for some means of escape. She found none, but the new girl, who was standing directly behind Miss Haruna began mouthing words to her. Serena caught her meaning and began reciting what the girl said, trusting to fate. "My topic was the early socialists and the organisms, er I mean origins of socialism. I found out lots of stuff about several men, including Bakery, (Luttra shook her head forcefully), um I mean Backing (the negatives continued), no, no, I meant Bakunin! (a big positive nod). Then there was this french guy with lemonade? (She shot a questioning look at Luttra. Luttra continued to nod.)And there were zebras? Sorry about that Miss H!" Miss Haruna sighed heavily. "Well, she WAS on time today and seemed to know her topic at least passably well. I did confiscate that comic book of hers, so that's at least reasonable punishment." Miss H thought. She was in a pleasant mood because of the raise in teachers' wages that she'd discovered this morning. She decided not to give Serena detention, in the hopes she'd use the extra time to work on her pronunciation. "Very well Serena. Carry on," said Miss Haruna. The astonished and over joyed Serena flashed a gleeful smile of thanks to the red-haired girl. This time as she sat down, Serena opened up her math book and actually tried to study. ~*~ The dark portal opened up in a copse of trees, not far from Crossroads Junior High. Two women stepped out of the darkness and were blinded by the extreme luminescence of the sun. After a few moments of recuperation and adjusting to the sunlight, the black-silver-haired one turned to the pale, grey-haired one and said, "Void, we must have energy! If we are to accomplish our goals, we should find energy immediately." Void nodded and added, "But it would be admirable if we could find sustenance on the way to our goal, Chaos." She pulled out the red lava-stone and it yanked her forcibly towards the east, straight for Crossroads Senior High, unfortunately, Crossroads Junior High stood directly in the way. "I agree," said Chaos, pulling out her charge, the strange stick. She and Void raised their hands to the sky with the wand clutched between them. "CHAOS NIGHT POWER!" a thundering yell. "void night power!" a soft whisper. ~*~ Serena was trying hard to study her text, and failing. She kept dreaming of Tuxedo Mask. She couldn't wait until she got to see Darien that evening. Even though Luna had been against it, Celeus had re-woken the protector of Sailor Moon with the logical argument that he was a powerful ally. Needless to say, Serena loved Celeus now, and adored Tuxedo Mask even more. Celeus maintained that he had re-woken Tuxedo Mask because he had was having unfavorable premonitions, but Serena didn't care why he was awake, she just knew that he was. Suddenly, she felt a feeling in the pit of her stomach that she hadn't felt in a while. It was a vibe. Not a full fledged premonition like Rei or Celeus got, but a distinct feeling of dread. She looked over at Lita and she nodded. They asked to be excused to got to the rest room in tandem. With a sigh, Miss Haruna excused them, and they scampered off. Less than a minute after they left, Miss Haruna heard muffled screams from the court yard of the school. In alarm, she looked out the open window and saw an enormous slug catching students and draining them of their energy. Reading quietly in her seat, Luttra realized what was happening. She looked frustrated and rolled her eyes. "Goddess, can't I have a moment of peace?" she thought. Silently, she snapped her fingers and whispered, "Time Sleep" and caught all of the other students, and Miss Haruna, out of time. Standing free of her desk, she pulled off her diamond shaped pendant, and held it in the air. "INFINITE POWER!" A pink-grey mist encircled her as she spun. The mist first circled around her to form a grey body suit similar to a bathing suit, with two straps. It whirled around her hands to reveal two short pale grey gloves that widened to bells at the wrists. The mist swept to her feet to show a pair of faded pink flats, and continued up her knees to make a pair of knee-high, grey, silk stockings. The mist flashed down her waist, and there was a faded pink skirt made out of angular pieces of material, with slits going all the way up. The mist whirled around her chest and back to make two triangular, faded-pink bows, and then swirled around her neck to make a grey and pink choker, and over her ears and forehead to make matching grey and pink earrings and tiara. The pendant took it's place above the bow. Finally, the mist curled in her hands to make a lyre, the Quantum Harp. She posed, the harp in one hand, the other on her hip, briefly before jumping out the window, into the fray. She was surprised to see two other girls facing off with the monster. The smaller, blonde one yelled, "I am Sailor Moon, champion of justice. I will right wrongs and triumph over evil and just plain ol' icky things. In the name of the moon, I'll punish you!" The taller, brown-haired one announced, "I am Sailor Jupiter, and in the name of Jupiter, You'll be escargo before you hurt anyone!" Luttra smiled to herself and yelled, "I am Sailor Infinity, and in the name of the time stream, I'll make you wish you had never even been concieved of in this reality!" "Huh?" asked Sailor Moon, "Who are you?" "Infinity. Nice to meetcha! Psst, I'm on your side," replied Infinity. "I know that!" As they conversed, the slug monster slid up to them faster than Sailor Moon or Sailor Infinity could have imagined. With a squelching sound it absorbed Infinity's foot. In distress, she yelled, "Eww! Mondo total gross out! Ick ick ick. Zap him before he ruins my shoe and sucks my energy!" Sailor Jupiter, who was a safe distance away, yelled "JUPITER THUNDER CRASH!" The snap of electricity did indeed zap the slug monster, and it released a rather unpleasant aroma and Infinity's leg. Not even escargot miss, Jupiter, could deal with that odor for long. They all held their noses to half cooked slug. However, the monster had not been fatally injured, and now, it was rather angry. A miffed Sailor Infinity raised her Quantum Harp into the air, plucked a string and yelled, "INFINITY STRING PLUCK!" The air around the slug monster began to vibrate, and soon, the slug itself was vibrating. The sound grew higher and higher as the slug vibrated faster and faster. When Jupiter though it could go no faster, she yelled,"Now, Sailor Moon!" Sailor Moon started to pull off her tiara for the wind up, but suddenly, the vibration stopped and the slug was no longer there. Not even a pile of ashes. The slugs atoms had been shaken so badly that they ceased to be slug atoms and had, in fact, become hydrogen particles and alpha rays. The slug had been literally shaken apart. Awestruck, Sailor Moon looked at Sailor Infinity in respect. Suddenly, a resemblance in Sailor Moon's mind clicked, "Wow! You look just like Cherry Usako, the Child of the Star Rabbit from my manga! Can I have your autograph?" Infinity grinned, "Sure, I'll bring it the next time we meet! TTFN!" With that, she was gone. Sailor Moon got stars in her eyes as she said, "Wicked cool! I wonder what that means. Probably important Sailor Speak!" Jupiter laughed and said, "Relax Sailor-Moon-brain, it means Ta ta for now." Sailor Moon grinned and said, "TTFN!" ~*~ On top of Crossroads Junior High, two figures sat pondering their newest confusion. "Sailors? Infinity, Moon, Jupiter?" They had destroyed Chaos' slug. Were these Sailors going to hamper their efforts at finding the Ceres Emerald Jadestone? Only time would tell, Void decided. "Only time will tell." Lindsey Browning "I don't believe it. Do we have to spend a whole Saturday at the library? Couldn't we go to the arcade for a while, to relax a little?" asked Serena, tagging behind her friends as they strode purposefully toward the library. Terra shook her head fiercely, "No, Serena. The whole reason behind this trip today is to help you finish your research on time, so you can make a decent grade on your term paper. At this point you will have to spend every waking moment of your time to finish it, and even some time while your asleep." "Really Serena, I think you've spent enough time at that arcade, while you should have been working on your paper, to more than justify one day at the library," added Ami. "Then I'm glad Lita packed us a lunch, I'm starved. You know what they say, feed the brain!" said Serena. "Uh-uh Spaghetti-for-brains, no food until after we work at least three hours, and you prove to Ami and Terra that you know what you're doing," answered Rei. "WHAT!" asked Serena with horror written on her face, "You mean I have to think on an empty stomach!?! That's impossible!" "Nothing's impossible, if you put your mind to it, and have us to help!" said Mina cheerfully. "Everything's impossible without triple chocolate fudge cake!" cried Serena, and she began to wail. Opening Song (Moonlight Legend) Series Title, Sailor Moon Remembered Senshi Episode Title, (3) Amazing Revelations Serena sighed heavily. She and her friends had been working for two hours, and her stomach was threatening menacingly to bully her brain into going on strike. Unfortunately, Rei had taken possession of the fudge cake and had sworn that Serena would not touch it for another hour at least. She was bored stiff. Suddenly, Ami and Terra appeared, with the tall, lean librarian who was dragging a squeaking, rusty library cart piled with books. Ami brushed sweat from her brow and said, "Whew, that's it." "Thanks Mr. Heath! I know this was hard on your back, but we couldn't have done it without you!" smiled Terra. "No problem. Anything I can do to help my favorite and most frequent borrower!" he returned the grin, and left, to go do other librarian-type things. Serena looked like she would explode with happiness, "That's it? We can go home now? And eat fudge cake?! Whoopee!" Terra crushed her hopes when she shook her head, "Nope Serena, our help's over. We're finished. We helped you find all your sources. We can't do your research for you. That's cheating, however much you need our help." "You can't just abandon me!" Serena wailed. "We're not going to abandon you. We're all going to stay here supervising you, because we don't think you're capable of doing it yourself. Don't even think about fudge cake until Ami says!" asserted Rei. "You're so mean, Rei!" wailed Serena, burying her face in books. "Think of it as motivation!" chirped Mina, "You do the research, and if you have any questions or need some help understanding anything, just ask Terra or Ami. The rest of us are going to stay too." "Sorry, I'm late, but I brought lunch," said the tardy Lita, as she arrived hauling a monstrous picnic basket. "More food!" Serena exclaimed happily. Suddenly, Celeus, Artemis, and Luna popped out of one side of the picnic basket, looking rather full. Celeus hopped on Terra's shoulder and gave a rather loud burp. "Pardon, your excellency," apologized Celeus to Terra. "Oh no! You guys didn't eat the food did you, Luna?!?" asked Serena, her hope for a lunch failing rapidly. "Serena, you need to keep your mind on work, not food," Luna chided. "If I may say so myself, you make an excellent tuna salad," added Artemis, licking his chops in memory of their fine repast. Darien then arrived, "You know that if you don't finish this, I'm not going to go out with you next weekend, don't you?" he asked. "But I'm so hungry, I can't concentrate!" Serena wailed. "That's why I brought you these cereal bars. They're supposed to curb the appetite of a 500 lb. weight-lifter for at least six hours. That's why I brought you two of them," grinned Darien, producing the cereal bars. Serena gobbled them in two bites, earning a comment from Rei. "You know Serena, if you unhinge your jaw, you can eat them faster." Serena stuck her tongue out at Rei, and Rei answered by blowing a raspberry. Darien rolled his eyes and Mina grabbed Rei's arm and dragged her off to look at the latest fashion magazines, in hopes it would distract her. Terra and Ami wandered off to other parts of the library to look at books, and Lita walked off to the non-fiction section of the library to find a new cook book. Celeus, Artemis, and Luna all hopped to the top of book shelves, where the librarian was unlikely to find them, and pursued their own literary interests. Darien opted to stay with Serena and help her to stay focused. Serena wished she could go home, but instead, tried to focus herself on the work she had to do. ~*~ Ami, after making sure that Darien would keep Serena working, went into the physics section of the non-fiction area, and was surprised to find someone else her age there. Luttra Mobius was standing on her tiptoes peering over one of the higher shelves, her cherry-red pigtails caressing the ground behind her. After a moment, she pulled out a book. She squealed with delight, sat down on the floor, and opened it. Ami was astonished to see that the book was by Micheo Keiku, one of the world's leading physicists, and her personal favorite. "Excuse me," ventured Ami, "But I'm just not used to seeing people my age interested in physics. You're a new student in our school, aren't you?" Luttra smiled and said, "Yeah, my name's Luttra Mobius, nice to meetcha." Ami then asked about Luttra's interest in Micheo Keiku. "Oh, I like him very much. He has very quaint ideas," she grinned. Ami was stunned, "You think Micheo Keiku is quaint?" "Yes, I do, in some aspects. His ideas are generally right, but there so primitive. The way I see it, the stream is much more complex than that," she beamed again, "If you'd like, I can tell you all about my ideas." Ami, intrigued, sat down to listen. ~*~ While Ami talked with Luttra, Terra was in the classical literature section. She wanted a copy of War and Peace, but it was too high for her. She stretched and stood on her tiptoes in an attempt to reach it. Suddenly, someone leaned up and retrieved the book for her. Terra looked sheepish as David Hollins handed it to her. "Thanks, David," she smiled. David was in heaven. Ever since she had awakened, he'd been pursuing a relationship with his little goddess of light. As yet, she only accepted him as a friend, albeit a close friend. "War and Peace is a good book. I read it one year when I got Russian literature on the brain. In one summer I read it, The Brother's Karamazov, Anna Korinina, and Crime and Punishment," he smiled. "How's life at the University?" she asked, pulling the heavy volume of literature to her chest and smiling. "All right, " he said, following the smooth brown curve of her bound hair from the bun at the top to the tip that fell below her waist. Her eyes were smiling at him. He had noticed that they always turned a deep blue when she was happy, "Gram keeps asking about you, and so does Frenchie." Gram was the woman who had adopted him so long ago, and Frenchie was her temperamental poodle. Frenchie had developed a dislike of Terra that she found strange, because she'd always had an affinity for all animals. The idea that Frenchie missed her caused Terra to giggle, tossing her head back slightly as she did. David admired the slender white line of her neck. "I was wondering," he asked tentatively, "if you'd like to come to lunch with me today." Terra's eyes lit up, but then she shook her head in regret, "Sorry David, but I have to stay with my friend." Suddenly, Terra had a striking idea. "Why don't you come with us when we have lunch? No one will mind." David felt a bit antsy, this was not the solitary lunch he'd hoped for, "Well Terra, I don't know . . ." Terra's lower lip began to tremble and her eyes got huge (even bigger than they normally are!!) as she looked very cute and sad. David gave in immediately. "All right, all right, you win." Terra's eyes sparkled, and she smiled again. ~*~ Two figures stood on the roof of the library. One of them held a glowing red stone, and the other carried a strangely colored stick. The one holding the stone was thin and incredibly pale. Her hair was a long, straight, colorless, grey. It was almost as if her hair was not a color, but rather, an absence of color. Her eyes were a fleshy, rotten-meat-colored pink. They were vacant and staring, they seemed to carry the essence of absence. The other was also thin, but she looked much more wiry and dangerous. Her skin was a darkened, more tan color, and her hair was jet black and ribboned with silver. It was wild and untamed, and ran all the way down her back. One of her eyes was silver, and it displayed pure molten anger. The other was jet, and mirrored demented amusement. "The lava stone registers that the carrier of the crystal is below, my sister," said Void in her low, soft spoken voice. "Then we must be ready for a confrontation," said Chaos, her silver eye and black eye grinning with maddened delight. "I don't think that would be wise, my sister," warned Void, tentatively, "I think that you should create some monsters and let them loose in this place they call library. In the ensuing madness, we should be able to easily locate the one who carries the last piece of the Jadestone." Chaos nodded in agreement, "You are always right Void. My idea was foolish and impetuous." "Calm my sister, calm. Patience is a virtue hard won," said Void. Chaos, thus appeased, held her hand high in the air, clutching the stick tightly. Void held her hand high and touched the stick. Together they voiced,"CHAOS NIGHT POWER!""void night power." Chaos raised high in her spin, with Void circling below her. Chaos spun quickly and erratically, as Void spun slowly and methodically. Black lightning surrounded Chaos and formed a white body suit. It cracked down her legs and struck her feet to make a pair of high heeled black shoes with silver circles on them. It snapped back up and wrapped around her neck to make her collar, itwas black and it curved upward instead of lying flat on her shoulders, and choker, which was made of black pearls. The lightning snapped upwards again making two black pearl earrings and a silver tiara curving downward instead of upward, with a black pearl in it. Then it snapped down her arms to make a set of white gloves, rimmed in silver and black, one ring of each. The lightning struck in the middle of her chest, just below the collar to make a black broach rimmed in silver, from the broach, two long black ribbons with a silver streak down the middle fell until they hit her hips. The lightning flashed a circle around her waist and a silver skirt fell. Finally, the lightning streaked in a near straight line, close to her hands, and a silver orb glowed. The Chaos Staff burned with ebony darkness as it nestled in her hands. She briefly posed, staff in the sky, a look of domination on her face. Void transformed at the same time Chaos did, only her spin was slower, and closer to the ground. She spun in a mist of anti-energy. The mist clouded around her to make a white body suit, and then clouded around her neck to make a sailor collar similar to Chaos's, turned up and dark grey. it also made a choker of smooth grey steel. The mist clouded around her feet to make a pair of lace-up grey boots that came to her ankles. The mist clouded around her chest to make a dark grey orb surrounded by ebony. Two ribbons, grey with a black stripe down the middle, fell from it until they reached her hips. The mist clouded around her waist and a grey-black skirt formed. The mist clouded around her arms and formed two white gloves rimmed in grey. The mist clouded around her brows to make a down turned steel tiara with a black onyx in it, and a pair of steel and onyx earrings. Finally, the mist solidified into a three-pronged trident, the Staff of Absence. She posed briefly, holding the staff in front of her, in a defensive pose. "I would deem it wise my sister, if you created your creatures now," advised the newly transformed Sailor Void. Sailor Chaos nodded and raised the Chaos Staff. There was a nest of hornets near her, so she cast the Staff at them, yelling,"CHAOTIC TRANSFORMATION!" Each of the several hornets she hit transformed into a large German shepherd sized monster. They all had deadly stingers that dripped venom, and shook menacingly. Void looked pleased. ~*~ Terra, Ami, Rei, Mina, Lita, David, Darien, Celeus, Luna, and Artemis were all standing clustered around Serena, who was still working very hard. Ami had invited Luttra, so now she stood behind Lita. Serena looked triumphant as she closed the last book. "WOW! I'm all done! I did it all," Serena grinned merrily, "I'm really glad you were here to help me, Luttra! You cut down on the time by at least three hours." Amazingly, Serena had finished all her research in merely six hours, a feat that Ami and Terra hadn't thought possible. Luttra had facilitated Serena's research to the extent that they had whizzed through it. Serena was incredibly enthusiastic about going to lunch, or rather, dinner. They were about to leave, when a loud humming noise caught them off guard. This strange noise was accompanied by screams of fright coming from the downstairs concourse. Luttra sighed, and snapped her fingers, she whispered her command, trying to catch the others out of time, except, nothing happened. She tried it again, this time voicing the command in a louder tone. "Time Sleep!" she said, and no one moved this time. Luttra raised her pendant into the air and yelled, "INFINITE POWER!" She was halfway through her transformation, when Serena rubbed her eyes and looked in wonder at Luttra, who was transforming. Slowly, the other scouts, Darien, David, and the cats came awake, so that they were all witness when Luttra touched down in her Sailor Infinity garb. Sailor Infinity's eyes widened as she looked at them all, "Oh, crap! How come you're not frozen in time?" Serena grinned and said, "This is why!" She threw one of her hands into the air and yelled, forgetting David was standing in their midst, watching everything. "MOON PRISM POWER!" She began her transformation, and David gasped. That bubble-headed friend of Terra's was actually Sailor Moon. Then his eyes widened as her looked about himself. All the other girls, except Terra also looked like Sailor Scouts! Terra looked sadly at him and said, "Yes, due to Serena's impetuosity, you now no who we are. Maybe I was right when I thought our destinies were joined." He looked astonished as she raised a wand into the air,"CERES POWER!" Terra was washed in a green light. She used the stick to generate a net of vines which wrapped around her. They wrapped around her body, making a white body suit. They wrapped around her legs, making a pair of white knee boots with green trim. The vines curled around her throat to make an emerald green collar and green choker, with a golden emblem of Ceres on it. The vines swirled on her chest to make an emerald broach rimmed in gold, and a light green bow tied itself underneath the broach at the same time another tied it self in back. The vines wrapped around her arms and made a pair of white gloves trimmed in green, and then wrapped around her waist to make an emerald green skirt. Then they wrapped around her forehead, making a golden tiara with an emerald stone in it that curved downwards, and a pair of emerald earrings. Sheposed with both hands behind her back, feet apart, in an attention pose. The other girls shrugged and raised their wands, "MERCURY POWER!" "MARS POWER!" "JUPITER POWER!" "VENUS POWER!" After they finished, they yelled in unison, "SCOUT POWER!" Finally, Darien transformed into Tuxedo Mask, which caught David completely by surprise. Then Tuxedo Mask and the seven Scouts raceddownstairs, following the sounds of distress. In the lower gallery, people were hiding under carols, desks, and tables in an attempt to protect themselves from the onslaught of hornets. Chaos and Void were positioned, out of sight behind, a bookshelf. They were watching the madness quietly, and waiting for their crystal to respond. Suddenly, their heads turned in unison as a voice made itself known. "I am Sailor Moon, the Champion of Justice! In the name of the moon, I will right wrongs and triumph over evil, and that means you're gonna be moon dusted. In the name of the moon, I'll punish you!" "I am Sailor Mercury, In the name of Mercury, douse yourself in water and repent!" "I am Sailor Mars, In the name of Mars, you'll be toasted!" "I'm Sailor Jupiter, In the name of Jupiter, your days are numbered!" "I'm Sailor Venus, In the name of Love and Beauty, I'll punish you!" "I'm Sailor Infinity, In the name of the Time Stream, you're going to wish you were never conceived of in this reality!" "I am Sailor Ceres, In the name of Ceres, you're going to have some 'growing' pains!" Void and Chaos were amused. Suddenly, Void started, their crystal was reacting, and it was reacting a lot! The hornets zoomed at each of the scouts. "MARS FIRE IGNITE!" (one toasted) "JUPITER THUNDER CRASH!" (one fried) "CERES VINES ENTANGLE!" (one immobilized by glowing green vines, Venus made short work of it) "INFINITY CHARMING HARMONY!" (one charmed into sleep by Infinity's music) One hornet flew at Sailor Moon. She squealed in dismay and ran off in terror screaming, "I HATE BEES!" Tuxedo Mask threw a rose at it, and cleft the hornet into two pieces. Needless to say, Sailor Moon was relieved. While the other Scouts were battling the hornets, Chaos and Void were sneaking up behind Sailor Ceres, who was fighting still yet another hornet. Void, but just then, a heavy volume of literature brained her on the head. It was War and Peace. Chaos screeched in agony as her sister fell senseless to the floor. She roared in anger at this human, and this attracted the attention of the other Scouts as they finished off their opponents. Ceres was horrified, but stood rooted to her spot, as if something held her down. The other Scouts had similar sensations, and they too stood motionless as Chaos advanced on David. David backed away, until he hit a corner. Having no where else to go, he raised his hands in defense. Chaos raised her Staff and yelled out, "CHAOTIC BLACK TEMPEST!" A swirl of dark energy brewed in a storm above her head, and she prepared to direct it at David, when energy suddenly pooled in his hands and he yelled, "TACHYON CAST!" and thrust his hands forward. The energy attack caught Chaos totally off guard and it blew the tempest away. Chaos was badly shaken, but in a flash she picked up her still unconscious sister and jumped to a high window. Before she left, however, she yelled out in fury,"I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE ON YOU FOR HURTING VOID, MAKE NO MISTAKE OF IT!!!" The rest of the scouts were left to stare in wonder at David, who was looking down at his hands in amazement. The people slowly began to crawl out asked, "Can I have some triple chocolate fudge cake now?" Lindsey Browning David stared at his hands in shock, "What did I just do? What just happened?" He turned and blankly stared at Sailor Ceres. She was watching him in amazement, as were the rest of the Scouts. He looked at her in pain and fear, but mostly in betrayal. "Terra," he whispered, the sound barely audible. Jolted out of her trance by the pain in his voice, she started towards him. Celeus saw, and did not approve. "Excellency, come back!" called Celeus, in a most dignified and authoritative tone. "I most certainly will not, you pompous windbag. Last time I checked I was still the royalty and the heir to the throne, and you were still the cat advisor!" she snapped, a fire kindling in her eyes that Celeus had not seen for a long time. Although offended on the surface, he was much gratified by her flare in temper. It showed that her spirit had not been broken by the destruction of Ceres, as he feared it had been. She stepped toward David again, and he shied away, like a fearful animal. She stretched out a hand to him, but he pulled away faster than before. More quickly than anyone would have predicted, he ran out of the library, with surprising speed. Without a second thought, Sailor Ceres took off after him, and Celeus followed suit, yelling for her to come back in his regal tone running at a slow lolloping gait (this is as fast as he can run, let's face it, he's no cat-hlete). Running as if possessed by some demon of hatred or anger, David quickly out-distanced them both. In hopes of catching David quickly, Sailor Ceres sprinted after him, leaving Celeus in her dust. Disgruntled and unable to keep up, Celeus, sat down on the pavement and watched Sailor Ceres get smaller and smaller as she faded into the bustle of the city. As he sat, he began to bathe his tail to keep himself from looking silly. "Well isn't this a lovely kettle of fish." Opening Song (Moonlight Legend) Series Title, Sailor Moon: Remembered Senshi Episode Title, (4) Peacemaker After the Scouts had de-transformed, Luna called a Sailor meeting at the Cherry Hill Temple to discuss the recent developments. Luttra invited herself because she was rather curious about the others, especially Ami. None of the others protested because they were rather curious about her as well. The scouts, Luttra, and Tuxedo Mask settled on the temple stair. Muttering to herself, Luna paced circles around Artemis, as he laid back and yawned. Serena located the triple fudge cake and helped herself to a piece. Always the generous soul, she offered one to Luttra as well. "So," asked Serena, around the cake, "Are you my new, wicked cool idol, Cherry Usako in that ultra hot new manga, Child of the Star Rabbit? What's the buzz?" Luttra smiled and thought a moment before replying, "Actually I did do some modeling for that artist before I popped up at school. He was really mondo cute. Anyway, my name is Sailor Infinity, other than that it's plain old Luttra. The last name Mobius is something I invented for my visit here. Mobius, Infinity, get it?" Ami and Luna were the only ones who got it. Luttra continued, "Anyway, in case you're wondering, I'm not an alien. I'm almost closer to this reality that you are. (she giggled) I'm a child of infinite realities, and a child of none. I was born before time and my life will extend after it. I am Infinity truly and wholly, the scout from the beginning of the time stream. I am Sailor Infinity, and I know a lot of stuff. Like the answer to the question, how in physics is it possible for Sailor Moon to spend ten minutes on speeches and windups and not get oasted by baddies that are faster than her," She giggled again. Luna was blown away, she opened her mouth like a drowning fish and asked, "Well, what are you doing on our Earth?" "How much of a brain-less-ter are you Luna? She's obviously here to warn us of some big bad thing coming, like those twisted sisters, right Luttra?" Luttra blushed and replied, "Actually I'm on vacation and guy hunting. It get's really lonely in the time stream." "That's all? Then those Twisted Sailors had nothing to do with you?" asked Luna. "Never seen them before in this reality, or any others," shrugged Luttra helplessly. "Well," asked Artemis thoughtfully, "If they didn't have anything to do with you, who, or what are they after?" ~*~ Chaos paced the floor, staring vehemently at a piece of furniture that happened to be in her way. With a flash of anger, she kicked the unfortunate table to pieces. Void sat up weakly in her bed, on the couch across the apartment, and spoke in the soft hissing whisper that Chaos thought was very comforting, "Patience, my sister. I know that we had to forfeit the energy we had thus far gathered to heal my weak body, but we drained that energy easily. In addition, we have located our target. I believe we can still easily capture the last piece of the Jadestone. However, our target will be most vulnerable if we attack it now, when it is still confused and alone. I think that you should be able to take the crystal fairly easily. However, my sister, you must rely on your own discipline in this case, because I am afraid I will not be with you. Despite the energy you gave to me, I am still not strong enough to face those warriors in battle. It is up to you Chaos." "Void, I cannot do this alone," Chaos cried, wringing her hands. "Yes, you can, and you must. Do this and you will make Kazracite and Qintozite proud of you. That is what you have always wished, is it not?" Void knew her sister's heart, and this promise of the attentions of Qintozite gave Chaos strength and made her willing to brave the fight. "I will, my sister. I will make them pay for what they have done to you." Void smiled fondly at her sister. "You will make him proud. Now, take this crystal and the stick and find the Jadestone." ~*~ Terra soon lost David in the bustle of the city, but she was fairly sure that she knew where to find him. After ducking into an alley to de-transform, she took the quickest route she knew to McKenna park. The park was filled with small children playing hopscotch, riding bicycles, swinging, sliding, yelling, and generally, having a good time. Young couples traced the sidewalks, oblivious to everything besides each other's company. People walked their dogs and played with them in the grass. Children fed the ducks. It was a wonderfully vibrant, happy day for all of the people, except for one. David was sitting in his favorite place, underneath a willow, behind the nesting place of a pair of cranes. The pond got thick and reedy at that end, so she couldn't see him, but she knew he was there. She could feel him. She slipped up on him the way instinct had taught her and gently laid a hand on his shoulder. He jerked to attention, jumping up, and facing her in a fury she didn't think he was capable of. "What do you want?! Don't you think you've done enough?" "Please David, listen to me. I want to help you." "Thanks, but no thanks, I think I've had enough help today," he said, bitterly. "Please, I'm sorry for whatever I did, but David, you have to tell me what I did before I can make it better." The bitterness was replaced by pain and sorrow, "I trusted you. I thought you trusted me. I thought, no secrets." "But David, it was their secret, not mine. If I had told you, you would have figured them out too. You're not stupid, and I know that. To keep their secret, I had to keep my own." "But it still hurts, Terra." "You don't think it hurts me when you don't tell me you have powers?" "Powers?" "What you did in the library today. I haven't seen anyone so powerful in a long time." "If you think I know more about this than you do, you're mistaken, because I have no idea how I did that today. If I hadn't felt the power well up inside me I would swear that one of your friends had done that." "Than you had no idea you had such ability?" "No Terra, I'm telling you!" "All right, all right, I believe you. We'd better get you back to the others so we can figure out what caused your awakening." He looked at her incredulously. "Trust me David. I care about you. They care about me. We're all friends and I just want to help you. No more secrets, I promise." She extended her hand. He just stared at it. As he looked into her soulful, childlike eyes his heart gave in and he reached out to take it. Suddenly, Celeus raced in screeching, "Excellency! Transform she's coming!" David's eyes widened, "That cat is talking to you! Your cat can talk! You say 'No more secrets, David' and poof, your cat can talk. Don't you think that's a secret?" "No questions! There's not time!" she pleaded raising the Ceres wand to the sky. "CERES POWER!" Almost before Sailor Ceres could touch down, a wild maniacal laugh was heard through the park. She raced out of the bushes calling for everyone to take cover. "David, please go get the others!" cried Sailor Ceres, facing down the dark storm before her. Chaos looked around the darkness in confusion. She had been battling those creatures who called themselves Sailors. Specifically, the one named Ceres. She remembered easily defeating the girl, when another had thrown her to the round. That infuriating man who had defeated her twice was not likely to get a third chance. She shook her head, trying to cleanse her mind the way Void did. She was thrown to the ground, and rose, and then, and then . . . "Are you all right, my Chaos?" asked a quiet, hissing voice tenderly. Ah, then Lord Dis had scooped her out of the battle. Now she remembered perfectly. Her only confusion was why he had carried her out of the fray. "I am fine, Lord Dis," she acknowledged her superior, "Have I permission to speak?" "Of course, my Chaos, you always are at ease in my presence. Speak your mind." "Why was I summoned back? Have I done something to displease Mistress Kazracite or Master Qintozite?" she asked, bewildered. "Kazracite did not order you back. Nor did Qintozite beg my boon. I took it upon myself to take you from that battle." "But why, Lord Dis. What did I do?" "You did nothing my Chaos. Kazracite sent you into battle too early. She is power mad and wants that crystal so desperately that it clouds her judgement. However, my judgement is not clouded. You shall stay with me, and train, until you are sufficiently ready." "But Void?!" "Void is stronger and more patient than you are. She can currently handle the responsibilities bestowed upon her, alone. Your place is by my side, Chaos, at least for a time." "But Lord Dis!" "That is final!" Opening Song (Moonlight Legend) Series Title, Sailor Moon: Remembered Senshi Episode Title (5) The Essence of Absence Ami shut down her miniature super computer, turned to Luna, and shrugged. "I don't know what caused his awakening, but I know it's not physiological. He hasn't experienced anything out of the ordinary recently," said Ami. David was sitting patiently in the center of Serena's room, in a padded bunny chair, while Ami and Luna poked and prodded him. Terra was seated to his left, holding his hand and telling him to make the best of it. Lita was lying on Serena's bed reading a comic book, while Mina attempted to pull her hair from it's usual pony-tail into three brown meatballs. Rei was sitting Indian-style on the rug, throwing popcorn at Serena, who was sitting at her desk pretending to do her math homework but was actually reading a new Child of the Star Rabbit manga book. Artemis and Celeus were both on top of a shelf. Luttra was sitting at the foot of Serena's bed, reading another book by Micheo Keiku, as Ami finished up her scan. "Well," laughed Terra, "He did face down ol' Temper Tantrum twice today. Maybe that's what caused it." Luna stroked her chin thoughtfully, then nodded, "That could very well be it. You know that Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, and Sailor Jupiter were awakened when they were in trouble. Perhaps that is why David woke." "Yes, but that doesn't explain who he is and why he has powers in the first place. For all we know he's one of the enemy," interrupted Celeus, "As far as I can remember, there are no males with special powers that aren't evil." "Well, then I suppose that you don't remember Endymion then, huh? What about Darien?" asked Serena, looking up from her comic book, "He's not evil." "Well," flustered Celeus, "I forgot about him. Anyway, Darien is Serena's fianc‚, and Prince of Earth Who's he supposed to be attached to?" Celeus sniffed disdainfully as he gestured to David. "From the way he's been acting, and considering the timeliness of his awakening, my guess would be Terra," Ami thought out loud, absently. Terra blushed an indiscreet red as she struggled to keep herself steady. "Terra is here," she reminded Ami, who blushed in turn at the thought of being rude, "And she says you're all just being silly. David wouldn't want to do a thing like marry me." "Darien wasn't too hot about it either, when he first met Serena," Luna reminded her with a chuckle. Serena scowled, "That's because he didn't know how fantastically wonderful I am." Luna chuckled again, "Actually, I think he knew just how you were then, he just doesn't seem to mind it now." Serena stuck her tongue out and blew a raspberry at Luna, before turning back to Terra and David, "Besides you guys would make a totally ultra hot couple! Just like Rei and Chad (Rei snarled and lobbed a whole handful of popcorn at Serena) and Moll and Melvin! I am such the cupid!" "You are such the bubble-brain," muttered Rei, under her breath. "Girls!" chided Artemis, "Remember, we're here to figure out why David is with us, not argue about each others' love lives." "It was a legitimate line of thought before it wandered off course," reminded Ami, "It is very possible that David is a protector of the Scouts, specifically Terra. At any rate, I doubt that you mean us any harm or you would have hurt Terra when you had the chance." "Well," started Celeus, "I happen to know that her excellency, Princess Terra was never engaged. been engaged to common rabble like you!" He snorted contemptuously at David in disgust. "Her excellency may remind the humble cat advisor that she is here, and can speak for herself," Terra intoned frustratedly, "Don't you think that I have a few secrets I would keep to myself, Celeus? Do you think I told you and Mother everything? I certainly didn't go telling you who I was in love with, now did I?" David's heart leapt into his throat in anticipation. "You mean to tell me that you had a suitor and you never told me about it?!" fumed Celeus, adding as an afterthought, "Your excellency." Terra scowled and David's hopes soared. "You are telling me, that you, Terra, Princess of the Laterose, child of Lord King Oaklawn, Duke of the Marches of White Cress and daughter of High Queen Iris of the Violet Moon, ninth descendent of Goddess Demeter herself, you had a tryst with a commoner!?!" Terra's scowl deepened, "Well, I don't remember off the top of my head, but truth be told I don't remember a lot of things, and neither do you! What I'm trying to get across to you is that just because you don't remember it happening doesn't mean it didn't!!!" David's hopes dropped quickly and surely until they were close to absolute zero. "Well," he thought, "I blew it, at least in a past lifetime." "I'm hungry from all this studying!" announced Serena, filling the awkward moment as she put down her 'math' book, "Let's go get some burgers!" ~*~ Kazracite was pacing the edges of her 'chamber' of negative space, cursing whatever drew her attention. She was in a foul mood, and had been ever since she'd detected Chaos's presence in the negative temporal plane. This did not bode well with her other plans, and it momentarily confused her. Chaos could not cause the temporal shift that was necessary to open a portal to this plane alone, she had to have had assistance. In addition, Kazracite still trusted her two servants implicitly. She trusted them the way she'd trusted Naverght an honor she had bestowed upon no others. Her faith in them was partially due to the fact that in some ways, Chaos and Void were like his children. His triumph and victory had caused their birth, and she was the obvious choice as their mother. So, she had trained them so, teaching them that she was their mother, fostering fear and respect in them, along with a misplaced sense of trust and understanding. Qintozite had never cared about her relationship with the two bastard children. He had convinced himself that her emotion would come to naught, but she could see the loyalty the two bore her. She was closer to Chaos. She always had been. Chaos drew her power from her raw emotions, as did Kazracite, unlike the frigid Void, who drew her power from emptiness. Void was just as loyal to Kazracite as Chaos was, but Kazracite could detect the subtle differences. Still, she knew that neither Chaos, nor Void could fathom the idea of betraying their 'mother.' Her thoughts then fell back on the puzzle that confronted her. She knew that unless some bizarre temporal wrinkle had caused Chaos's appearance in this plane, she had been transported there by one of her compatriots, either Lord Dis or Qintozite. Compatriots, she laughed to herself bitterly at the use of that word. The three of them were no closer to each other than they had been to Beryl. Their alliance had been made for their own mutual pooling of resources and protection under a likely source of power more than it had been made out of common goals and emotions. No, she was the only one who truly cared about Naverght, their own energy-wielding prodigy. Oh, of course Lord Dis was loyal to Naverght. He had respected the Lord General implicitly, but it was more of a hunting hound's fealty to his master than a genuine like for Naverght. That was another thing that had always confused her about Lord Dis, the reason why he had sworn loyalty to Naverght in the first place. To be sure it was convenient to ally with your ex-lovers main rival (especially when that ex-lover is also a Lord General of the Dark Kingdom and had placed a extermination warrant on your Dis's powerful death magic, Kazracite surmised that he could most likely take care of himself and Beryl as well, if need be. She sighed heavily, not sounding anything like her firey self. She'd mulled over these thoughts time and again and her thoughts still produced no fruit. Unwilling to prusue the thoughts farther, she turned her musings to her other 'ally.' Qintozite had been high in the privy councils of Lord General Beryl. The intrigue at the court of the Dark Moon rumored him to be the new favorite of Beryl and next chancellor. That was before the former favorite Lord Dis, sovereign of the Death Knights, returned, heralding the arrival of the man who was to be Beryl's main rival for the attentions of Metallia. The raw abilities of this initiate, so named Naverght (in Sylvanic) due to his unexplainable hatred of all things green and living, were so awesome that nothing could quell the firestorm of rumors that began after his first reception at court, even Beryl's wrath. Qintozite was not close-minded to these rumors. He knew that the initiate's powers were quite likely a match for Beryl's, and he had not yet been formally trained. A new faction was forming at court, supporting the new blood and already he had some powerful allies. Dis was his sworn protector; a promising emotional, Kazracite, was also basking in his glory; an experienced veteran shapeshifter, Titanite, had also joined. After weighing his dimming position as a favorite against potentially being the advisor to Beryl's successor, Qintozite jumped ship. His position had indeed been a successful one, that is until the prodigy succeeded at attaining his personal holy grail at the cost of his life. Now Qintozite was a mere shadow of his former glory. Without the court, without Metallia, without a leader, without resources, Qintozite still did not fare to badly. He was still a deadly adversary and Kazracite hated him because he knew hee too well. He had an infuriating way of telling truths and half- truths and twisting them to suit his purposes. He also only served himself. He cared naught for anyone. Hell, Kazracite wasn't even sure if he had emotions. She certainly had never seen any, excluding his cold sense of humor. She squared her 'chambers' again. She knew very well the intrigues of her own tiny sphere. Dis's infatuation regarding Chaos, Chaos's childlike adoration of Qintozite. However, she refused to believe that Chaos had betrayed her or Void. She knew that it would take an immense power to separate Chaos from Void, yet she did not detect Void's presence in the plane. And if Chaos had been forcefully taken, then why had Chaos not sent a temporal tremor, something she was quite capable of, in any given circumstances, to alert her 'mother.' It was a quandary. She squared the 'room' again, continuing her search for answers. "Mistress Kazracite . . ." murmured a voice at the edges of her mind. She pointedly ignored it. ~*~ Sailor Void knew that Chaos was back in the hands of Lord Dis, safe and sound. He had appeared to her after taking Chaos and had functionally healed her energy loss, returned both the wand and stone, and had even left his amulet for her. You'll need the help it gives he had warned. She was only slightly daunted at the responsibility that had been dumped into her singular lap. She was not of a nature to be frightened, it was not that she wasn't, it was rather that she couldn't be. Recognition of risk, yes; fear, no. She stood quietly in the small church cemetery and then raised Dis's amulet. It's stone was the color of blood. Lifeblood, Dis had said; lifeblood to loan to those who needed it. She held it high over her head and then began her incantation. It was entirely in Necron, the language of the dead, except for the final word, which could be spoken in any language, yet still have the same effect. Death and it's antonym were universal. "Ressurection," she whispered. Fine white dust rose from all over the grounds of the deserted cemetery. It combined with the very earth itself and slowly solidified into a small legion of twelve grinning skeletons. Their bones were ivory polished and they glittered in the sunlight, dazzling Sailor Void's fleshy pink eyes. She knew that they would obey her loyally as long as she carried the amulet to identify herself as their necromancer. She also knew that it was not wise to leave such a valuable and indispensable item out in the open, where it might be targeted. She deftly slipped it below her collar and under her outer steel and garnet brooch. She took out the lava-stone and it directed her south, towards downtown. "Come, our objective is in this direction," she commanded. Her followers formed neat ranks behind her, and she led them straight for the center of the city, and the Crown Center Cafe. ~*~ "And I'll have a double cheeseburger, a jumbo fry, some onion rings, a hotdog, and the biggest chocolate shake you have," finished Serena happily. "Hey greedy guts, what are we going to eat?" asked Rei darkly. Ami counted the rest of their money. "We have enough left to get a small fry." The rest of the table groaned. "Serena! We had enough money to get two pizzas! We could have all eaten!" added Lita. "Well," said Mina, "On the bright side, we won't gain any weight from today's meal!" David sighed, "I hope the rest of these girls don't eat as much as Serena," he thought, but actually said, "How much? I can treat this time." "Really?" asked Mina ecstatically, "If Terra doesn't love you I sure do!" and she gave the astonished David a hug, "You know girl, you've got a good thing goin' here." Terra looked embarrassed. Suddenly, screams erupted from outside the cafe. Luttra sighed, "No rest for the weary. Time Sleep!" She promptly caught everyone who wasn't at their table out of time. "How do you know it'll work this time?" asked Lita. "It worked last time too. It works on everyone, it just doesn't work to well on other Sailors," Luttra replied. "Okay!" "MOON PRISM POWER!" "MERCURY POWER!" "MARS POWER!" "JUPITER POWER!" "VENUS POWER!" "CERES POWER!" "INFINITE POWER!" "SCOUT POWER!" ~*~ Sailor Void's legion was creating general chaos in the street outside of the Cafe. She hoped to lure the carrier out into the open where it would be easy to take the Jadestone. Her skeletons were harassing everyone who dared to venture onto the street and scaring those who didn't. Suddenly, a small group appeared in the shadows. They were unphased by the skeletons or the bizarre warrior maiden in the street. "It's not nice to use dead people to fight for you. You ought to let sleeping bones lie! I am Sailor Moon and these are the Sailor Scouts. In the name of the Moon . . ." "In the name of Mercury!" "Mars!" "For Jupiter!" "Venus!" "And for Ceres!" "We will right wrongs and triumph over evil. In the name of our planets, we'll punish you!" "And in the name of the time-stream. You'll wish you were never conceived of in this reality! I am Sailor Infinity!" "Very nice floor show," hissed Sailor Void, "But I'm afraid I'm not in the mood for entertainment. Skeletons, converge and destroy!" The skeletons all ceased harassing the public and crowded around the Scouts. One grabbed Mars's wrist and began to drain her of her energy. She grew pale chalk white and collapsed. Two more began to chase Sailor Moon around. She flipped out and ran for her life. Unfortunately, she ran in circles around the melee, making her flight useless. Suddenly, a pair of red roses imbedded themselves in the back of the pursing skeletons skulls, shattering them. (Tuxedo Mask Riff). "Whew, I'm glad you showed up!" said Sailor Moon, "But I thought you had to work?" "Coffee break." "JUPITER THUNDER CRASH!" Jupiter's bolt of lightning shattered another skeleton, but almost immediately, it began to reform. Tuxedo Mask's pair were up again as well. "Sailor Moon," said Mercury, scanning the skeletons, "These forces are un-dead. 90% dirt, 10% magic. Perhaps if you heal them with the Crescent Moon Wand they'll return to the earth." "It's worth a shot. MOON HEALING ACTIVATION!" Mercury's thesis was correct. As soon as the white light blanketed the skeletons, they fell into piles of dirt. The general cast also caused Mars's energy to be freed and most of it returned to her. She sat up woozily. Sailor Void was not pleased, "I better wrap things up here," she thought. A swirl of dark energy flumed around Void's arm and she directed it at Sailor Ceres. "No! TACHYON CAST!" "VENUS CRESCENT BEAM SMASH!" The two attacks combined and a hurtled at Void. With a flick of her hand she absorbed the two energy attacks and used them to feed her own. "VOID NETHER-MATTER NOVA!" The attack slammed into Sailor Ceres despite her evasive maneuvers. She, Mercury, and Jupiter, who were both standing in the vicinity, were knocked instantly unconscious, and Void readied her second attack. With three of the scouts down for the count and another who couldn't stand, Sailor Moon pulled offer her tiara. "MOON TIARA . . ." "VOID NETHER-MATTER NOVA!" "No! Sailor Moon!" cried Tuxedo Mask. He jumped in front of her at the last moment and took the brunt of the attack. He too passed out at Sailor Moon's feet. She dropped her tiara and cried out painfully, "Oh no, Tuxedo Mask! Not again!" Void readied her third attack, directing this one at Sailor Infinty, who was trying her best to protect the fallen Scouts. "VOID NETHER-MAT . . ." "ETERNITY QUANTUM DISTORTION!" "CHRONOS DIMENSION RIPPLE!" The two time-space attacks hit Sailor Void simultaneously. She fell to her knees and summoned up the balance of her power to teleport the hell out of Dodge. She was no fool and she knew that she could not withstand another such attack. Better to retreat and fight again, than to suffer a gruesome fate for no cause. Sailor Chronos went over and helped Sailor Infinity to her feet. "Gee, sis, it looks like we got here just in time." It's just that she took the full brunt of that powered up attack," said Ami, "Jupiter and I only got enough to knock us out, but Terra is in another coma." "How does it look?" "The coma seems stable. If I didn't know better, I'd say she was healing herself." "Has her Uncle Hank been in yet?" "Yes. He was in for quite some time this morning. He wouldn't leave for his trip before he made my mother promise to look after her. She told him this was probably triggered by something psychological. I didn't bother correcting her." "Can I go in to see her?" "Only relatives can visit at this point, but I'm sure I can squeeze you in Cousin David. Terra's sister Mina will probably be up later today, after school," Ami smiled and opened the private room's door, "Rest your mind, she's in no danger." "I just hope she wakes up soon," David sighed and entered the room. Ami silently shut the door behind him. "So do I, friend. So do I." Opening Song (Moonlight Legend) Series Title, Sailor Moon Remembered Senshi Episode Title (6) Dreamscapes and Sailors Princess Terra climbed the rowan tree deftly. It was the highest tree on the castle grounds and she wanted a good vantage point today. She also wanted to stay scarce. If she watched from the east tower, no doubt Celeus would find her and escort her off to diplomacy class. Cat though he was, he would not dream of looking for Terra in the Lord Rowan. He thought she was afraid of heights and could not even climb trees, an ignorance Terra cultivated. The reason for her excitement was that Aspen was finally returning to the palace. Aspen was her childhood playmate and best friend. That was another reason for avoiding Celeus. Celeus did not like Aspen because Aspen was only of low aristocratic birth, not fit to play with the princess. Aspen's return marked his successful completion of Knight training, making him now, almost her protector. The only task that remained before he would be dubbed Lord Knight of Ceres was the token quest of the Queen. More pomp and ceremony than a true quest, the Queen's quest consisted of a request for some simple object. The Knight presented it, the Queen received it, and dubbed the Knight. It was as easy as falling off a log. Terra was happy for her friend. It would be years, or never, before Terra became Sailor Ceres, now that Ceres had withdrawn from the Alliance of the Moon. Terra had been schooled in the art of diplomacy for years, yet she still could not fathom why her mother, High Queen Iris, had cut Ceres off from the other planets. She personally thought it was because Ceres was getting too arrogant for it's own good. Everywhere one looked on Ceres, one was confronted with perfection. Ceres was easily one of the richest, oldest, albeit the smallest, planets in the solar system. Despite the fact that Ceres was far away from the rich energy of the sun, (the sun appeared to be about the size of a human thumbnail) the abundant life on Ceres flourished without the interference of magic. This was because that Ceres was a living, breathing planet in every way. Instead of having a molten core like Mars, or an icy, rocky core like Jupiter, Ceres's core was pure energy. The scientists of Ceres even theorized that it possessed rational thought capabilities. All aspects of nature on Ceres seemed to point to that conclusion. Ceres was incredibly fertile, and the plants that needed to grow always seemed to prosper in the areas they were needed most, whether or not the climate suited them. None of the predators of Ceres ever killed so many of a species that it was endangered, likewise, the herbivores never ate too much of a certain type of plant to threaten it. Hunting for sport was unthinkable to the Ceretians, it was the same as slaughtering a neighbor, for all life was of equal weight. Thus, Ceres had a near-perfect ecosystem flanked by crystal clear rivers, streams, and lakes. Ceres had very few seas, and all of them were fresh water, so that even though only 30% of Ceres was water, all of it was constantly being replenished in their perpetual water cycle. Ceres monarchs had always had a reputation of being wise and just. Quite willing to share their wealth with others because that is what the Goddess Demeter taught. 'Share the wealth you have with those that do not. Always be humble and serve the land and life. Never attack, always defense.' Terra had learned all these verses from the Book of Corn when she was a small child. The trouble she saw, was that many of the people of her mother's court, even her mother herself were no longer abiding by them. Terra knew from her early trips to the court of the Moon (before the blockade) that the people of the other planets were not contaminated with the 'seed of discontent' as her mother's chancellor, Thornbrush put it. She also knew that the people of Ceres were like all people elsewhere, neither better nor worse than anyone. Yet High Queen Iris now claimed that the people of the alliance of the moon were inferior. She said that they did not see the true light of perfection. Terra thought perfection was boring. The wind ruffled Terra's braided hair as the sun outlined the form of a gallant horseman approaching by the south path on a familiar bay stallion. Above his head he carried the standard of the Knights of Ceres, a green chevron in the shape of leaves. Terra grinned and almost shouted for joy. She hadn't seen Aspen for four years. The Knight training was extensive and occupied most of his time. He could not spare the time it took to traverse the half of the Great Forest that separated them. Neither was Terra aloud to stray far from the castle. Casting another look downward in anticipation, and to make sure Celeus was not patrolling the courtyard, she began to pick her way down the immense tree. ~*~ Aspen led his horse up to the center cascade of the palace. The waterfall that actually fell through the upper ballroom and into a crystal pool in the southern courtyard. He could remember playing in the pool with the young princess, in the fog of the past. He also remembered the far more secluded western pond, where he had dared thirteen-year-old Terra to swim with him, knowing full well that she couldn't swim a stroke. The plucky royal had accepted and dived in before he could stop her. After a few harrowing moments, Terra popped up above the water again, sheltered in the comforting arms of her protector, freezing cold and wise enough not to try such a stunt again, or so Aspen hoped. The memory remained one of the clearest ones he could call on whenever the Knight training made him wish for home and quiet and his books. To reaffirm his commitment, he merely had to remember the reason he had started on his journey in the first place, Terra. When a call had come out, seeking ten for the position of Lord Knight of Ceres,Aspen had presented himself immediately. He could never forget the feeling he had experienced when he had pulled the over-enthusiastic princess out of the frigid water. He wanted to do that for the rest of his life. He was quite willing to devote his life to the protection of the woman-girl who pervaded most of his thoughts. However, she had not taken such a compliment so well. "Why do you want to leave?" she had asked fitfully, "Don't you like being around me?" He had tried his best to explain to her his reasons, but she had refused to understand them. "You know that there is to be only one Ceres Knight out of the ten candidates, the others will return to be merely palace guards. Is that the kind of life you want?" "I am not going to be a palace guard. I will be Ceres Knight, or I will not return to this palace. Understand princess, this is a test I must give myself. If I fail, I will not deserve to see you again. I will not be worthy." "Stop talking nonsense. You will always be worth my time, you're my best friend." "But someday, I hope to be more, my princess, " he had thought to himself as he rode off to the training camp. Now, he was, at least to a certain degree. Being Ceres Knight meant that he would always be near the princess, ready to protect her, if need be. If nothing else, he would never be separated from his princess again. His mind turned to the unfavorable rumors he had heard about the court while he had been training. Their isolation had shocked Aspen, as it had many of the other nobles. Ceres had been the last of the inner planets to join, but after their commitment, they had been one of the strongest supporters of the Alliance. They had been, until recently. During the past few years the High Queen had broken a number of precedents so sacred, it was as if she were butchering the Book of Corn. Aspen sincerely hoped that Terra was not following her mother's example, but he had a feeling that wily, rebellious Terra the Terror was not about to do anything her mother recommended. He had no reason to doubt that the princess would retain her vibrant and truly original consistency, because she chose that particular moment to tackle him from behind. "Oh Aspen, I'm so glad to see you. It's been so long!" He managed to pull her off his back, and then deposited her in front of him, so he could see her properly. She would have nothing of his, she had soon tangled herself back into a mass of limbs, hugging him tightly. Only after she had given him, a 'proper' hug would she loosen her grip. As soon as she did, and retreated far enough off for him to get his bearings, he was once again mesmerized by the sight of her. He had left behind a sprightly girl of thirteen only to return to find an enchantress of seventeen in her place. She had grown taller, and if possible, more slender. Her childish looks had been replaced by a beauty he couldn't even begin to comprehend. No more royal smock dresses covered her, she now wore the signature dress of the princess of Ceres, a gown of palest green gossamer-silk that brushed the slender ankles with bird's wings and encircled her small waist with oak-leaves. Her hair had grown long, until it nearly brushed her knees, braided as it was. And then he had spied something in the top of her hair, it was a quadra-jadestone rimmed in gold. Its four facets gleamed in the light as it held Terra's braid high. That stone was the heirloom of his family. It was the one treasure an orphan marquis possessed in remembrance of his family, yet he had gladly given it to Terra with the simple inscription, 'To my princess,' before his pilgrimage to Knight training. It gave him hope to know that she still wore it, even after his absence of four years. Suddenly, a throat cleared itself, and Aspen and Terra both turned their attentions to a small long-haired black cat who had appeared on the green beside them. "Ha! I thought I'd find you here. Princess it's time for your Lunari lesson. You've already missed your diplomacy lesson and you harpsichord lesson today and the court musician, and the secretary of the embassy, are very angry with you. I wouldn't be surprised if they told your mother, her excellency, High Queen Iris. This is the seventh instruction of the harpsichord you've missed in a fortnight and the third diplomacy lesson. If her majesty should think that princesses are above school work so that they can come out and make eyes at courtiers on the main lawn . . ," He stopped as he realized who was standing behind the princess. "Oh, it's you. I might have known riffraff like you would always be the bad influence on the princess." "Mind your manners Celeus, Aspen is going to be Ceres Knight. Then what will the humble cat advisor do?" "Well he's not Ceres Knight yet, and neither are you in any position to command me, majesty, until your twenty-first birthday, you are not the crown princess. However if you do not come at once, I will be forced to alert your mother." "Tattletale!" she replied in perfect Lunari, "I don't know why I have to learn a language of a planet that we're contrabanded from, even if it is stylish." "The moon has always set the vogues, you know that. It doesn't matter that we're not on friendly terms with them, all the best people speak Lunari. As I was saying, if you do not pick up your feet majesty, I will be forced to tell your mother, and she might not allow you to go to the ball tonight." "Oh, I'm crushed," she replied dryly, "I've been waiting for this ball all year. Oh darn." "Well, then," said Celeus, "She might just revoke your access to the library and stables and double your etiquette lessons." "You wouldn't dare!" cried Terra. "Watch me," said Celeus as he got to his feet and casually sauntered off toward the audience chamber. "I'm going, I'm going!" she cried after Celeus, running off, she called back to Aspen, "Please be at the ball tonight! I have a feeling I'm going to be there, thought not by my choice!" Aspen smiled. He'd be there. ~*~ "So you're like Luttra's sisters?" asked Serena, looking the two girls over. She had called another emergency meeting in Rei's temple. The girls were all gathered, looking at the two newcomers. They were dressed in outfits similar to Luttra's, only in different colors. The taller one was in pale green-grey and had olive hair in a neat bun. She carried a long staff with what looked to be a tuning fork on the end. The smaller one wore pale yellow-grey and had blonde hair plaited in piles on her head. She also wore a cloak and there was a small yellow bird perched on her shoulder. "Correct, I am Sailor Eternity also know as Meattra. I am the Scout of Eternity, from the end of the time-stream," said the one in yellow. "And I am Sailor Chronos also known as Jettra. I am the scout of Chronos, swimming in the time-stream," said the other. "And we are here to retrieve our truant sister," said the one in yellow, "She ran off without telling anyone where she was going. However this isn't the first time she's come down and pretended to be mortal, so we knew where to look for her." "So you guys aren't here to help us?" asked Mina. "We didn't say that. We've always been on good terms with the Moon Kingdom. If you need our help, we'll stay and help," said Jettra, flashing a smile. "But then who's guarding the time stream?" asked Ami. "Our old friends, Daemeon and Setsuna, are. Don't ask," replied Jettra, "And don't worry, it's in good hands." "Wicked cool! New friends!" said Serena. "But you guys really ought to de-transform before Chad and Grampa get too curious, " advised Rei. Suddenly, a wolf whistle from behind startled Jettra, and she turned 'round and found herself face to face with the cutest guy she'd ever seen. "Too late," groaned Rei. "Where have you been all my life, gorgeous?" asked Chad. Jettra blushed, "I could ask you the same, cutie!" All the other Scouts sweatdropped. "You think he's cute?" asked Rei, unbelievingly. "Just one question, beautiful," asked Chad as he stepped back to look at her,"Why the outfit?" Jettra blushed again and looked for a way out, Ami provided one. "They're idol singers, and our old friends. They're in town this week and decided to come see us." "Really, Dude. I was an idol singer, maybe we know some of the same people . . ." "Sorry, Chad, we gotta go. We've got a lot of catching up to do!" Rei quickly jostled the other girls out the temple courtyard and into her bedroom. "Whew," sighed Ami, "that was a close one!" "How come we had to leave the cute guy out there?" asked Jettra. The others glared at her and she sweatdropped. "We have got to get you in some normal clothes, girl," said Mina, "Before this happens again!" Jettra looked embarrassed, Meattra bailed her out. "You see, since we spend all of our time in the time-stream, Jettra and I don't have any other clothes. We're scouts all the time. I'm afraid we don't have any clothes to de-transform into." "Grampa would love that," muttered Rei to herself. "No clothes?" asked Mina, "Come on Meattra, we'll get you something of Rei's to wear," She looked up at the tall, lean Jettra, "And maybe something of Lita's for you, then I bet Serena smells a sale! I'd like to take you, but one of the scouts is ill and Luttra and I thought we'd bring a little bit of sunshine in! I'm sure Serena wouldn't mind leading the expedition! " "We can go shopping?!!" cried Serena, "Point me to the store!" ~*~ "Two more Sailor Scouts. I should have been able to defeat them. I could havedefeated them. The last attack was a failure due to my lack of power. Perhaps if I gather more energy, I will be more successful on my mission. One thing is certain, I will not go toe to toe with all those scouts again. They are many, I am one, despite my superior purpose. After I gather my energy this time, I will seek the carrier again, but this time I will not fight the others. Stealth is the key. She is now in a place called a hospital. I believe it is a ward for the weak and sick. I will report again when I have amassed the proper energy. Good day Mistress," Void finished speaking into the small red lava-stone that would relay her words to Kazracite. She avoided mentioning Chaos in hopes that Kazracite would not press her. She had enough to worry about without Kazracite fuming at her for losing her sister. As if she could do anything to stop Lord Dis. In fact she welcomed Lord Dis. He had been right, she was not ready for the confrontation Void was facing. It had been a wise decision to remove Chaos from the battlefield early, perhaps she would even return to help Void finish the job. Void smiled. She would like that. After changing from her fuku into 'normal' clothes, Void left their apartment swiftly and silently and headed for the closest center of human activity and bustle, the Crossroads Mall. ~*~ Chaos sat silently in the small room she was confined to. Lord Dis had cast a retaining spell that made it impossible for Chaos to leave the room without help and then disappeared. He had said that he had to pacify Kazracite, but Chaos had the sneaking suspicion he was not going anywhere near the fire-wielding emotional. More likely he was going to fetch dinner for the two of them. Wherever he was, she did not care in the least. Lord Dis was a mentor and one to be respected, but the way he looked at her sometimes gave her chills. She was glad when she was away from his hungry eyes. They seemed to stare into her very soul, and they wanted something. She was startled out of her musings by a familiar voice that both excited and confused her. "I see you are well Chaos," said Qintozite as he appeared from a simple blue shroud. Chaos smiled to herself, he'd never been one for pyrotechnics. "How did you know I was here, Master Qintozite?" "I make it a point to know where you are," he answered, "however, I am afraid this is not a social call, my dear." Chaos started. Endearing terms from someone, who lacked even slight emotional displays. It sounded strange, like he had a mouth full of foreign words and he was attempting to spit them out. "I am here to find out what news you have of the positive plane," said Qintozite,"I want you to tell me everything that happened to you during your absence. It is very important to me to know what befell you." Hope welled up inside of Chaos, she explained in a detailed, yet, rather stumbling manner, their arrival in the positive plane, their first attempt at gathering energy at the school, the crystal's major reaction at the library, Void's incapacitation, her attack on the human and his defense . . . Qintozite started immediately at the description of the human male, "Tell me again, the part after Void was wounded." Chaos complied in a halting manner. "Just as I thought," said Qintozite, he stood up and began to pace, lost in thought, "This will bear some further investigation." Suddenly as if struck by an impulse, Qintozite's finishing statement was quite out of character, "Possibly over dinner. Would you care to join me, my dear?" Chaos blushed in a manner that was quite out of character for her as well, "I would love too." Qintozite opened his cloak and Chaos stood very close to him. He enfolded her in the velvety robe and then teleported them both out of the small room. When he returned to his private room, it was obvious to Lord Dis who had removed Chaos, and he was not, by any means pleased. Lindsey Browning "Hold still, princess," cried Ivy, the maid of honor, in frustration as she tried for the umpteenth time to pin Terra's hair up. "Forget it, Ivy, I'll wear it down," Terra decided spontaneously. "But majesty!" Terra shot a scowl at Ivy. "I mean Terra," the maid corrected herself, "You know very well that wearing your hair down isn't very stylish, it's rather childish. You remember that you weren't aloud to wear your hair up until you were nine. It's a privilege, and it's trendy. You know very well that none of the young ladies at the ball will be wearing their hair down." "Correction," announced Terra, "One of them will. If I have to go to this ball, then I'm going to wear my hair the way I please. It doesn't look bad when it's down, does it?" "No milady, it looks lovely, but it just isn't done . . " "It is now," replied Terra, resolutely. "Very well," said Ivy frustratedly. She turned to the east closet, where all of Terra's evening gowns were. There were most likely at least a hundred of them, ranging in color from the palest green to the darkest, from the greyest to the brightest. This was the mark of her royalty. Tradition forbade her from wearing any color other than green, except on two occasions. She might wear white at her wedding, and black at her mother's funeral. At all other times, she had to wear green. It was a badge of royalty and of patriotism. "Now princess, which dress do you want to wear?" Impishly Terra grinned, "The green one." Play opening song Series Title, Sailor Moon Remembered Senshi Episode Title, (7) Secrets Revealed Aspen stood in the courtier's end on the ball room. Diplomats and functionaries were gathered around discussing incredibly dull matters of court and sipping fruit wines. All of the action of the ball was happening at the other end, near the chamber ensemble and the cascade. It was said that a promise made on the lee side of the fall with a flower petal dropped in for all it encompassed, would never be broken. Popularly it was the site of many betrothals, and a place shrouded by romance and mysticism. However, Terra had not yet made an appearance at the ball, and Aspen was being stalked by a commitment hungry Viscountess, a certain Lady D'Mellon who had chased him in the past. She had even gone so far as to follow him to his Knight training until she made such a nuisance of herself that the commander had her removed. Now she was back and ready to pounce on him as soon as he left this circle of protective boredom. Dullness, complicated thoughts, and the threat of intelligent albeit boring conversation warded her away. Aspen was determined not to leave this bubble until Terra arrived. No doubt the princess of the realms could fend of a marriage-happy member of the lower aristocracy. He hoped so. He could not imagine having Terra on his arm and having the humiliation of Crocus D'Mellon following him. Whenever she threatened him with her presence, he pretended to be engrossed in a conversation about the High Queen's bedroom habits, the current hot topic in the palace. The courtier he pretended to talk to didn't know the difference and was all the better for the conversation, even though it didn't really happen. Suddenly the mazurka that was being played was halted, and the chamber group took to playing a light lilting melody with just the fifes and violins. Aspen knew the tune well. It was the song he'd hummed so many times in the darkness. It was Terra's own melody. It had been written by Ceres's most famous composer after she had volunteered to retrieve some errant sheet music that had been caught in the top branches of a tall beech tree. Before Aspen could stop her, she had scurried up the tree and back down again. The composer had been much amused by the peppery princess, and had composed the melody that same day. He fondly referred to Terra as his 'tiny squirrel.' He still privately thought of the song as the 'Squirrel's Sonata,' yet, it was formally known as 'The Swallow of the Laterose,' the princess's formal title. He had never spoken of the incident to anyone, knowing full well that if he did, Terra would be reprimanded for a breach of etiquette, and the palace's rumor mill would grind for weeks. Quietly Terra entered the room and curtsied to the nobles. They curtsied in return. She was followed by the High Queen who was decked in gold and silver and bejeweled in all finery. The room, Terra included, bowed low in response to the High Queen's entrance. After a self- satisfied smirk, she took her place on the dias and commanded the dancing to resume. Once again, Aspen was completely taken by the princess. She wore a long silk dress in the same style as she'd worn earlier only a deep, hunter green, with the bird's wings trails pooling about her on the floor. She wore no jewelry except for simple tumbled green emerald earrings, and the darkness of the dress contrasted nicely with her pale skin. Her hair was lovely and long, with a few stems of calla lilies entwined to add contrast. Aspen knew she was the most sought after of all the dancing partners at the ball, and was at her side immediately. Despite his quick reaction, two lads got the better of him, and he found himself in a line behind Birch Longstem, Duke of the Southern Forest, and Hickory Newbud, Count of Seadeep. Aspen hoped Terra would be rid of them quickly. Birch was a nervous uptight man. He was being pushed into courting the princess by his overzealous mother. However Terra and Birch were friends and had worked out a deal. Terra would pretend to act amused by Birch and dance a few sets with him to get his mother off his back as long as it never became serious and Birch would smuggle her out of the palace occasionally and into the countryside. Their agreement worked, and so far, no one at the rumor-mill was the wiser. "M-m-may I have this dance, your excellency?" he bowed and asked nervously, keeping an eye out for his mother. Terra winked as she curtsied and replied, "Only if you call me Terra again, Birch." Birch looked relieved and took her hand gingerly and they stepped onto the floor. Aspen seethed in jealousy. He had no way of knowing about Terra and Birch's agreement. He probably wouldn't have cared. What he knew was that Birch, was touching Aspen's princess. His princess who as far as he knew didn't give a second thought to balls and etrothals. A sinking fear rooted itself in his stomach. What if he'd returned to win his princess' heart too late? Terra and Birch went through several simple reels and waltzes, all of them very casual, but they parted ways as soon as the music for the dance of Ceres, the complicated Mirauet, began to play. Aspen saw his chance. "May I have this dance?" She looked surprised and embarrassed. Surprised and happy that he asked her, confused and embarrassed because . . . "No." It was Aspen's turn to be surprised. "What? What? Why won't you dance with me? You danced with Duke Longstem." "That was different." "Why was it different?" "Well, you see, um, you know those harpsichord lessons I've been skipping out on?" He nodded. "Um, gee, I bet you can't guess what lessons's right after it." "You've been skipping your dancing lesson?" "Five weeks straight now. Never reported. I dunno, maybe the master's dead." "You're telling me you don't know how to do your planet's dance?" She bowed her head, expecting a reprimand. Instead, Aspen chuckled. "You really are something." Terra smiled. He held out his hand. "Well, if you don't know, I'm just going to have to teach you." "Out there?" Terra gasped as she gestured to the ball room, "But there are people out there! They'll see I don't know!" "No, they won't." "But I don't know the steps!" "Do you think anyone can see your feet in that dress? You just have to glide. Can you glide?" "But I'll fall down!" "I won't let you fall down." "But . . . " "No buts. I dare you." Terra got that look and set her jaw. She fearlessly put her hand in his and strode purposefully toward the floor. Once they began, they were wonderful, the most graceful pair on the floor. Aspen was a marvelous dancer. Terra just followed, and glided. "Is this what they taught you in Knight training?" she asked smilingly as they whirled around the floor. "You'd be surprised." ~*~ "Announcing her excellency, the High Queen Iris. All hail," cried the crier, and the dias quartet struck up an unnerving and domineering march with its two trumpets and coronet paving the way. The High Queen in her usual palace dress, which was still richly decorated with emeralds and jadestones, strode across the floor purposefully and settled herself in the carved ivory and gold throne. Terra was at court as well. She was seated on a small stool carved from a natural growth rowan to the right of the High Queen. The seat to the left, the seat of the Lord Duke, the Queen's husband, had long been empty. The Lord Duke Oaklawn suffered from a devastating illness that kept him away from matters of state. Terra would have much rather been in the palace gardens wandering by her father and pushing him in his wheel-cart, but the High Queen demandedher presence in the throne room at all times, especially during hearings of the ministers. The hearings of the ministers were the actual business part of the Ceres court. Each of the ministers would come forth and report to the High Queen and she would make judgements and rulings based generally on her moods. Terra thought it was extraordinarily dull because she could see no rhyme or reason behind the High Queen's decisions (probably because there was none)except for the machinations of the Prime Minister, one Ageratum Thornbush. She disliked Thornbush. It seemed to Terra that all the sacred rites were broken when he arrived in power. She sighed. He did have the High Queen's ear. Terra did not doubt for a moment that the High Queen would take Thornbush's word over hers. Suddenly a face caught her eye. Watching silently from a corner was Aspen. He observed all that was said silently, and contemplated it. He was not pleased by what he was hearing. "Her excellency calls out Duke Gingko Palmswept, Minister of Finance," cried the crier. The quiet, homely man rose and shuffled to the center of the floor. He bowed lowly and reverently. "If it pleases your Excellency, taxes are low, yet the treasury is stocked. We can lower taxes yet again, excellency." Iris thought it over, then announced, "Raise them anyway. They won't mind, this is for the glory of Ceres!" The minister looked startled, yet shrugged and nodded, "As her excellency wishes." He retired quickly and quietly. He did not wish to incur the Queen's wrath. "Her excellency calls out Lord Heath Highlawn, Minister of the Royal Library." A tall stately man dressed in long brown robes walked steadily until he was standing directly in front of Iris. He nodded his head toward the High Queen and began to report. Iris stopped him in mid-sentence. "Is that the proper way to greet your High Queen?" The librarian looked pained. He began to grunt, and labored to bend. A look of amusement passed over the face of the High Queen. A look of disgust passed over Aspen's face. Terra could stand it no longer, she leapt from her place at the High Queen's side and ran to help her friend and confidant. "Mother, you know very well that Lord Highlawn has a back dystrophy. He can bend only a small way without injuring himself." She helped the man stand. "Guards, seize that man for a breach of etiquette," said the High Queen casually gesturing to the librarian Terra was protecting. "No! Mother! You cannot pretend this is right! You will not take him!" "Seat yourself princess, or you may find yourself in the tower with this man," advised the Prime Minister. "I will not. By Demeter, this travesty is not what the High Court of Ceres was meant to be. It was not meant to be a play room for a sadist Queen who chooses to amuse herself by torturing her courtiers!" "That is enough," said Thornbrush satisfactorily. "It is not, if you could only see what you've become . . ." cried Terra. "We see only too well your princes-ship. We see what a traitor you've become from listening to that librarian! I told you excellency!" taunted Thornbrush, "Guards, escort the princess back to her room and keep her there until you receive further orders." The guards raised their spears and started forward. Suddenly a black whip flashed through the room and Aspen stood before the High Queen and in front of Terra and Lord Highlawn. He warded off the guards with his whip. "Do not touch the princess if you value you lives." "Who are you, insolent wretch, and why is this business of yours?" asked the High Queen. "I am Aspen of the Bald Hills and Lord Knight of Ceres, in all but name. It is my solemn duty to protect Sailor Ceres from everything, even you, High Queen." "But you see, sadly there is no Sailor Ceres. She died a long time ago when the Moon betrayed us." "It did no such thing. You betrayed it, for Demeter only knows the reason!" supplied Terra taking up a fighter stance, even though she'd been out of training for five years, "And as to there being no Sailor Ceres, I doubt that! Jadestone, to me!" The jadestone that hovered over the High Queen's scepter shot to Terra's hand. She held it high and chanted, "CERES EMERALD POWER!" Terra was washed in a deep green hue. She let the crystal generate a net of vines which wrapped around her. They wrapped around her body, making a white body suit. They wrapped around her legs, making a pair of white knee boots with green trim. The vines curled around her throat to make an emerald green collar and green choker with a golden heart on it. The vines swirled on her chest to make a heart-shaped emerald broach rimmed in gold, and a light green bow tied itself underneath the broach at the same time another with long trails tied in the back. The vines wrapped around her arms and made a pair of white gloves trimmed in green, and then wrapped around her waist to make an emerald green skirt. Then they wrapped around her forehead, making a golden tiara with an emerald stone in it that curved downwards, and a pair of emerald earrings. Finally, one vine became the Ceres Power Key, a green wand with golden rings around it and the jadestone fitted itself at the end, in the nest of golden leaves. She posed with both hands behind her back, feet apart, in an attention pose. "I am Sailor Ceres, the defender of the weak. In the name of Ceres and the Goddess Demeter, I will not let you hurt any more people, mother." "That's what you think Terra. I knew that I couldn't trust you. Emerald Jadestone, return to your Mistress," said High Queen Iris The Jadestone returned to her hands, and Sailor Ceres immediately de-transformed back into Princess Terra. "Well Princess, it looks like you didn't practice long enough. I don't think you're in any position to protect anything or anyone," observed Thornbrush. "Rest well tonight Terra," said the High Queen, "Tomorrow you will make your new home in the tower." "Don't you think that's a little drastic excellency?" asked Celeus, coming forward. "You hold your tongue, traitor. You will be joining her." Celeus gasped. "Seize them all!" cried High Queen Iris. The palace soldiers surrounded Terra, Aspen, and Lord Highlawn. Suddenly the room was filled with vivid green smoke and Terra heard a voice murmur inside her mind, "Sleep well indeed my princess, but be awake and ready to flee this palace at twelve tonight. I swear by my oath as a Knight that no one will touch you. Be ready." She felt a hand brush hers and then the smoke cleared and Aspen was no where to be seen. ~*~ Birch Longstem brought his roan blood mare to a full gallop as he jumped the bushes and stone walls of the countryside directly outside the palace. He always went on a spirited ride after dinner, sometimes accompanied by his friend, the elusive Princess Terra. He rode harder than he generally did because he was troubled by what had happened at the palace that day. He had not been present at the day's hearing of ministers, but palace rumors placed the princess in the tower before sunrise. He cursed himself for his inaction. He wanted desperately to help the princess, but didn't know where to begin. He slowed his horse to a stop and dismounted. He had to think of a way to help the princess. Suddenly, he heard hoof-beats speeding toward him and he turned. There, directly in front of him, stood a man clothed all in black with thin new green trappings with a black whip coiled at his waist. Birch immediately recognized him as the princess' protector, Aspen, and he was wearing the full regalia of Ceres Knight. "To what do I owe this honor, Lord Knight Aspen?" asked Birch tentatively. He had also heard of the sorcery that had allowed the Knight to escape the palace. "I am afraid I did not come to compliment you on your choice of horses, although yours is lovely. I am here on royal business. The business of the crown." "If you serve that creature Iris, I want nothing to do with you." "Ceres Knight has always served the princess. I serve the true crown, her excellency,Princess Terra." "Her Excellency?" "I believe that Terra should be on the throne. It is obvious that the High Queen is mad. However, she still has the support of the nobles and unfortunately the Emerald Jadestone. This is the reason I come to you. Can I trust you with the princess?" "I would give my life for her any day of the week." "Then it is settled. Terra needs some place safe where she can stay until I find a safer haven for her off planet. Can you help?" Birch looked perplexed, "She cannot stay at my castle. My mother is a vehement supporter of Iris. She would betray the princess in an instant if she had the chance. But there is one place . . ." "Go on!" "My lodge. I'm the only one who knows of it. It's just a small cabin deep in the southern forest, miles and miles away from another dwelling. It would be perfect if the princess would mind." "She won't, and she's in no position to pick and choose anyway. Can you be ready tonight at midnight?" "Yes I can, most certainly, But the palace will be guarded well. How do you expect to find an exit?" "There is one that will no be guarded. Be at the edge of the eastern flank forest of the palace and bring an extra horse for the princess." "I will. Thank you, Lord Knight Ceres." "For what?" "For giving me the chance to help the princess." ~*~ The palace guards were none too much for brains, so after they bolted the window in her room, from the inside, they settled themselves outside the closed door of Terra's room, determined not to let her escape. Terra was busily packing a small bag when Celeus woke up from the 'sleep' the guards had knocked him into. "What are you doing majesty?" "I'm packing a bag, Celeus. What does it look like I'm doing?" "But why? You know that the High Queen will not let us take anything to the tower." "I am not going to the tower." "What?!" "Do you want to go to the tower?" "But her excellency ordered it. The guards will take us to the tower tomorrow at sunrise, whether I want to go or not." "I'm not going to be here at sunrise. And if you'll come, neither will you." "But how majesty?" "You have to swear your loyalty and secrecy first Celeus, and break your bond to the High Queen." "You know that I never swore fealty to her. Only to you. I am your guardian cat you know." "I'm sorry Celeus, I had to make sure." "I understand, excellency." "Excellency?" "The High Queen is dead to me." "Very well Celeus, We will escape tonight at midnight . .." ~*~ There were guards at the door to Terra's room, but that didn't daunt Ceres Knight. Apparently none of the guards thought that Aspen could pull off his teleportation trick twice. Little did they know . . . "CERES TELEPORT!" ~*~ At the appointed hour, Terra and Celeus were quietly waiting in the corner of her room. Terra had shed her dress for a plain green tunic and leggings. She had one small bag of essentials and keepsakes, and one larger one that held Celeus. He was not overjoyed at being deposited in a bag, but Terra insisted, and he preferred the bag to the tower. Even though they were both expecting Aspen, they were not prepared for the way he materialized in front of them. They both started, and Celeus almost screamed, Terra quieted him just in time. "We're taking him too?" asked Aspen skeptically. "He has proven his worth Aspen, besides, we can't just leave him in the tower," said Terra. "Well, I don't know about that . . ." "Aspen!" "My duty is to obey, excellency." "Why does everyone keep calling me excellency?" "No time princess. Stand close to me." "I should have known that's what you were up to Aspen!" cried Celeus. "Shut him up before he alerts the guards, princess. You may like him, but he's not going to cause me to lose you. Anyway Celeus, she has to stand close to me for the teleport to work. Or would you rather try jumping out the window? We're a good four stories up, but I hear cats always land on their feet." Celeus scowled at Aspen and Terra shoved his head back into the bag and tied it. "We're ready now," said Terra, and she stepped close to Aspen. He put his arms around her and pulled her even closer. Terra blushed and he smiled. "Now say 'Ceres Teleport' with me." "CERES TELEPORT!" A swirl of green light enveloped them both and Terra closed her eyes tightly. When she opened them, they were standing in the ball room, near the cascade. "Why are we here? I thought we were leaving," asked Terra. "Because we can't teleport out of the palace. Iris isn't as stupid as her guards and she's put a spell block on the outer walls. She apparently doubts my ingenuity. I can get us out manually." "But how? The exits are all blocked." Aspen smiled and gestured to the waterfall, "This one's not." "The central cascade? How're we going to get out this way?" "We're going to jump into it. It'll carry us to the crystal pool outside the palace." He looked at Terra for a moment, as if he were going to say something, then changed his mind. "Give me his honorable cattiness, he's going first." Terra untied the bag and a ruffled Celeus came out. "Well I never. To put a guardian cat in a bag! Humph! I am still you're superior Ceres Knight . . . " "No, you're not. Now shut your kitty-cat mouth and get into the waterfall, your prune-ness." "Waterfall! I am not going to get into that waterfall. What do you want to do, kill me?" "If this doesn't, the guards will. This waterfall is our ticket out. Now get into thewaterfall before I throw you in Celeus!" said Terra impatiently. Celeus leapt to the edge of the barrier surrounding the waterfall disgustedly. He put a paw in and then jerked it out. "You can't be serious, this water is freezing!" "Too bad," said Aspen and he 'accidently' nudged Celeus into the cascade. He screeched all the way down. After Aspen was sure Celeus was safe, and wet, at the bottom, he turned to Terra. "I have something to say to you, Terra," he said softly. "Um, Aspen, I'm sure it's important, but why don't you tell me when we're nice and safe and where we're going." "Because I'm not coming with you." "What?! Don't be silly, of course you're coming with me. You're my protector." "I can't, Terra. I have to protect you and that's what I'm going to do. Someone must get the Jadestone away from Iris or no one on Ceres is safe, let alone you. You're in the most danger because you're the biggest threat to her. You're the only other one who can unleash the full power of the Jadestone." "Then let me help you! I must be able to help you. What if I'm Sailor Ceres?" "But you can't transform without the Jadestone, and we learned earlier today that it still is loyal to Iris. They way you can help me the most is by leaving this place and keeping yourself from danger." "Why do you do this for me?" "Because I am Ceres Knight and it's my duty, and, because I love you," he added quietly. Terra was astounded and confused, but out of instinct, she put her arms around his neck tightly. Then emotion overwhelmed her and she began to cry. Aspen hushed her. "You must go, my princess. Celeus is waiting. You must travel to the fringe of the eastern forest. Birch is waiting for you there. Don't worry, he has earned my trust. Now go, and don't look back." "But Aspen . . ." "Go, now, you must hurry!" "Come back to me Aspen, please." "I will come back to you my princess. If there is any way. I will." She looked at him one last time then jumped into the waterfall. Aspen sighed and then took two white lilies from his negative space pocket. He kissed them and then threw them into the water too. "I promise that I will come back to you my princess. By Demeter, I swear it." ~*~ Aspen slipped quietly though the palace, toward the High Queen's bedchambers. The guards at this post were asleep. This did not surprise him. He opened the door softly and snuck into the pitch black room. After he had taken no more than three steps, a vivid green light washed over the room and temporarily blinded Aspen. When his vision cleared, Iris, High Queen of Ceres was in front of him along with her prime minister. The Ceres Emerald Jadestone hovered over her hands and glowed brightly. It was at the peak of its energy, charged for an attack. They had been waiting for him. He might as well go out with a fight . . . "CERES MATTER IMPLOSION!" Dark green energy cloaked Aspen and pooled in his hand. He got ready to cast it when suddenly the Jadestone discharged its power. "COSMIC CERES POWER!" A bolt of pure energy flashed out of the Jadestone and struck Aspen full in the chest. He fell, unconscious, without another movement. The High Queen looked disdainfully at his body and said, "Thornbrush, dispose of this traitor." "As you wish it your excellency." ~*~ The prime minister had drawn all the correct figures on the floor and spoken all the correct incantations. The correct herbs burned in the incense censers. A body lay in the correct position on the dark stone cairn, yet Death had not yet arrived. Thornbrush knew that Death would take his own sweet time. He always did. It was a reminder that Thornbrush might summon all day and not have Death answer. It was humbling. After a certain time had elapsed, someone, or something did arrive, in a burst of pale grey smoke that smelled of death. The dark cloaked figure looked to the altar and nodded. "You have done well servant Thornbrush." "And my reward, milord?" "The Queen is still bent to your will?" "Yes, milord?" "Then you require no reward." As quickly as he had arrived, the Death Knight vanished, taking the body on the altar with him. "Wow, this outfit looks totally cool on you, Jettra!' cried Serena as she yanked the girl out of the dressing room, "Don't you think so guys?" "Yeah, it does look pretty good," observed Meattra. The others agreed. If she wasn't good at anything else, at least Serena could match colors. The outfit in question was a green skirt and oversized sweater, and it complimented Jettra's olive hair nicely. Meattra had already been matched with a pale yellow sun-dress andmatching sandals. Ami, Rei, Serena, Meattra, Jettra, and Lita were all trooping around the mall, looking for bargains and wardrobes for the two scouts outside of time. So far they'd done a pretty good job of it. Both girls had about five outfits apiece, and both Rei and Lita had promised clothes loans to the new girls. The girls were walking along having a great time (Rei was challenging Serena to a contest at the arcade, Ami and Meattra were talking about history, and Lita and Jettra were scoping out suitable guys) when suddenly Ami caught a glimpse of familiar grey hair and Rei got a vibe. "Aaaargh!" cried a woman down the mall concourse, "Leave me alone you, you, . . ." "What's wrong with that woman?" asked a man, the girls tried to see, but a crowd blocked their vision. "She's all pale, look, she's getting up. She's like a zombie!" "What are you doing, lady?!?!? Aaaargh!" "Look, now that man is just like her!" cried a second man. "And that one, and that one . . ." added a hysterical woman, "We're surrounded!" The two outer scouts looked at each other and began to say something, Ami stopped them, noting that Void was a scout so the spell wouldn't work on her. Rei led them all into the closest women's bathroom. ~*~ Void was amused. Her plan to gather energy was working marvelously well. She had already gained enough to more than heal her wounds, and now she was just storing it up. As an added bonus, thanks to Lord Dis's amulet, all the humans she'd drawn energy from had become like mindless slaves. Her own personal army of zombies. Things couldn't get better. That meant the only way they could go was down. They went swiftly. She was supervising her zombies as they gathered energy from the other humans when six shadows appeared at the corner of her vision. "I am Sailor Moon and I fight for love and justice." "I am Sailor Eternity and resistance is illogical!" "I'm Sailor Mars and if Sailor-moon-brain can't beat you, I will." "I am Sailor Jupiter, and I'll keep Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars in line." "I'm Sailor Chronos and time stops for no man, or twisted Sailor." "And I am Sailor Mercury, douse yourself in water and repent!" "In the name of the moon" "In the name of Mercury." "In the name of Mars." "In the name of Jupiter." "And in the name of the time-stream." "We'll punish you!" Void was once again amused by their act, but this time she wasn't fooled. She knew that under their kawaii facade that they were seasoned warriors, at least the two new ones were. She looked for an exit, and found one in the skylight, twenty yards away. She began to sprint. "MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!" Void's field of vision immediately dropped to about a foot and she tumbled over a bench that someone had inadvertently placed in the middle of the mall concourse, beside a potted plant and a fountain. Void found herself in the fountain. Bewildered, she called her zombies to attack. They milled about for a few moments, then began to swarm around Sailor Moon. Void began to slink away, soaked and embarrassed. "The fog doesn't seem to affect the zombies. They can see perfectly well." said Mercury. She brought out her VR visor and minicomputer and scanned them, "Just as I thought, they don't see things optically like we do, they have heat-sensitive vision." "Eeeeeeeekkk!" cried Sailor Moon as the zombies swarmed her, "I don't care how they see Mercury. How do we get them to leave me alone!?!!" "You might try the Crescent Moon Wand. It did work on the skeletons." "Great idea Sailor Mercury. Thanks a bunch." Sailor Mars and Jupiter fended of the zombies long enough for Sailor Moon to start her attack, meanwhile, Eternity and Infinity hunted about in the fog for Sailor Void. "MOON HEALING ACTIVATION!" The light from the Crescent Moon wand blanket the zombies, and momentarily confused them. They walked into each other and fell down, but they did not return to human form. As soon as the light finished, the zombies got up and ambled toward Sailor Moon again. "Mercury! It didn't work! What do we do now?" she cried. "Then the zombies need to be worn down first, Sailor Moon, try your tiara. Mars,Jupiter, try your attacks." "MARS FIRE" "JUPITER THUNDER!" "MOON TIARA!" "IGNITECRASHMAGIC!" The combined attack reduced the zombies to a pile of slobbering limbs. "Looks like they're going to need some healing. I think you guys over did it." said Mercury, with a sweatdrop. "No prob, Mercury!" said Sailor Moon, calling out the Crescent Moon Wand for a second time, "MOON HEALING ACTIVATION!" The pile of mindless zombies turned back into mindless mass humanity shoppers and disaster was again averted. The fog began to clear and Sailor Eternity and Sailor Chronos looked up to see Void looking down through the skylight. They had both started toward her when she suddenly smiled a dark smile and raised her hand. She promptly vanished in a black shroud. ~*~ Kazracite was still pacing her 'chamber' when she received Void's report. It did not please her. She was in a desperately foul mood when she passed Chaos's 'chamber's' 'door.' She peered into the portal and was infuriated to see Chaos peacefully asleep on her bed beneath Qintozite's cloak. Lindsey Browning Terra sat woozily up and shook her head. The other scouts were crowded around the room looking at her expectantly. She blinked. She was in Serena's bedroom, underneath a soft, cozy bunny blanket. She blinked again. "What happened?" she asked curiously, "I feel so strange." "You had quite a day, yesterday," said Ami. Terra blinked again. "We brought you here when you collapsed," volunteer Lita. "And then we hypnotized Serena's parents. They think we're having a slumber party," added Jettra. Terra blinked again. "You don't remember any of this, do you?" asked Celeus. "Can someone tell me what's going on?" asked Terra. Celeus sighed and said, "Well, it looks like I'm going to have to bring out the memory stone again. And here I thought we were doing so well . . ." "No need for that!" interrupted Luttra, and she pulled a golden whistle on a silver chain out of her shirt. She puffed up her cheeks and then blew into it hard. It made no sound. "Well aren't we the musician," said Celeus dryly, "First the harp and now the whistle. How is that supposed to help her excellency?" A new voice from a corner of the room answered him, "It's not Celeus, cat of Ceres, I am." Celeus turned to see a slender woman with silver hair standing in the previously empty corner. She was wearing a fuku exactly like the other Sailor Scouts, except her was entirely in shades of grey except for the white body suit and gloves. She held a quill and scroll in her hands and she curtsied elegantly to Serena. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am the final scout outside of time. I exist wholly outside the time-stream in a time bubble. I am Sailor Keeper, historian of the Moon Kingdom, and your third cousin, Princess Serenity." Play Opening Song Series Title, Sailor Moon Remembered Senshi Episode Title (9) Memories . . . The Sailor Scouts were astounded. Luttra grinned happily. "This is my pal Sailor Keeper!" she said, gesturing to the new woman. Luna was speechless, and Serena barely managed to ask, "My cousin? But I don't have any cousins. Mom was an only child, and Uncle Ray isn't married." Sailor Keeper was amused, "No, Princess Serenity, I was your third cousin in the past, during the Silver Millennium. Once upon a time, I was known as Arethusa, Princess of Imbrium, the largest sea on the moon. Now I am known only as Sailor Keeper. Please, call me that only,no matter what you may ever remember, Princess Serenity." Serena nodded, seeing it was a touchy subject, "I'll make a deal with you. I'll call you Sailor Keeper if you call me Serena." Sailor Keeper nodded in return, "As you wish." Celeus, disgruntled and unamused by this display interrupted, "If I may pose a question. How is a historian going to help her excellency regain her memory? Teach her about the battle of Hastings?" "However much it amuses you to make fun of me Celeus of Ceres, I advise against it, unless you would have me tell Artemis of your exploits with his sister," remarked Sailor Keeper. Celeus immediately shut up, and Artemis shot a venomous look in his direction. Sailor Keeper continued, "I am not unarmed as I record the lives of the people of the Moon Kingdom in my time bubble. I command one of the most dangerous forces of all, memory. It is this reason why Luttra summoned me, this and one other. Now, where is the subject?" Terra gulped, and raised her hand tentatively. Sailor Keeper strode over and peered at her. After she had examined Terra thoroughly, she pulled out a small flat stone. "Hey!" interjected Celeus, "That looks just like the Emerald Memory Stone, only, it's grey." "Correct Celeus," said Sailor Keeper, "I gave that to the royal family of Ceres so that they wouldn't have to call me from my post every time someone in the Moon Kingdom lost their memory. Unfortunately, only a hundred years after I gave them this gift, they seceded from the Alliance of the Moon." "Well then why couldn't we have just used the Memory Stone to heal her excellency?" asked Celeus. Sailor Keeper answered simply, "I doubt the power of that stone is equal to this task. Besides, I believe you children are in for a history lesson." She placed the stone over Terra's sign of Ceres, and then softly spoke, "Keeper Total Recall." Terra closed her eyes as the total euphoria of regaining a vast horde of memories at once overcame her. After a few moments, Sailor Keeper removed the stone from Terra's forehead, and she came awake once more. Terra looked at the Scouts in dismay. "My planet is gone, Chaos and Void, and David and Aspen and, and . . . Why? How could he do such a thing?" she asked, struggling with her emotions. At this point, only Mina and Luttra understood the gist of her melancholy, but Sailor Keeper soon remedied that. She explained everything about Terra's dreams, from Aspen to Lord Highlawn, from High Queen Iris to Terra's escape, facilitated by Ceres Knight. Then, in a hushed tone, she told them about Aspen's defeat and Thornbrush's sacrifice. Then she cleared her throat and began a tale that even Terra had not yet learned. "The Knight who collected Aspen was one Lord Dis. The same Lord Dis whom you saw less than a week ago. He is the most powerful of all the Death Knights, and their Lord. He, at that time, was lover to the head of the Dark Kingdom, then Lord General Beryl. He sensed some great potential in the unconscious body that he was in possession of, so he did not absorb its life energy. "Instead, he wiped its memory clear and nursed it back to health on dark energy. Thus, Naverght was born. Naverght could remember nothing of his past, except a vehement hatred for the Queen of Ceres, and a strange, possessive desire to own the Ceres Emerald Jadestone. "Naverght grew to be a very powerful dark magic user, equaled only by Beryl herself. Metallia realized this and made Naverght a Lord General too, knowing that the strongest would survive. Beryl had a larger following, but Naverght's was more loyal, even containing a woman named Kazracite who claimed to be in love with him. "It was Beryl's plan to attack the Moon, and thus gain control of the solar system. However, Naverght disagreed and counseled that the first attack should be on the rebel planet Ceres. His desires drove him on, and he explained to Metallia that Ceres was ripe for the taking and boasted the most power in the Solar System. With Ceres under their control, the moon would fall easily. "She agreed with him, and much to Beryl's dismay, sanctioned the attack on Ceres. However, the attack was not entirely successful due to Naverght's feelings for Princess Terra, and the intervention of the Goddess Demeter. One of the Dark Kingdom creatures was killed, and the Jadestone was shattered into three pieces, one in Terra, and two in her shadow children, Chaos and Void. None of the energy liberated in the destruction of Ceres was contained by the Dark Kingdom, and Demeter, angered by this attack, sent Princess Terra, Celeus, and several members of her court, to the future on earth. Naverght was also sent, but his memory was wiped again, so that he might grow into his former self once again. "After their disgrace at Ceres, Naverght's remaining supporters faded into the shadows, and hid from Beryl, lest they draw her wrath. Except for the addition of the shadow children, Chaos and Void, to their ranks, they gained no new strength, whereas Beryl, without an opponent was crowned Queen of the Dark Kingdom, and went forward with her attack on the Moon Kingdom. I believe you know that story. "Anyway, only after Beryl's destruction recently, has this rebel faction of the Dark Kingdom felt safe enough to come forward again. Now, their leader, Kazracite, seeks the Ceres Emerald Jadestone so that she may restore them to their former glory. The Jadestone did not exist in this time until it refused and the spirit children Chaos and Void were absorbed. Now, Kazracite will stop at nothing to regain the stone, and Naverght. She is homicidally jealous of you, Terra, because she thinks that you stole Naverght from her when in truth, he never loved her yet always carried you in his heart, even if he didn't remember. Now that you've had your little history lesson, do you understand?" asked Sailor Keeper. The other Scouts nodded. Terra looked slowly up, "I've told you before. I don't care what he did in the past. I'm no longer a princess, and he's no longer working for the Dark Kingdom. We're just plain ol' Terra and David now, and we have to rescue him if he's being held hostage by some emotionally unstable nutcase with pyrotechnical powers." "Good," said Sailor Keeper, "I thought you'd see it that way. Now, on to other business. As you may guess, I'm terribly busy recording history. I'm going to have to work double time to catch up when I get back. The Memory Stone I gave to Terra's family is no longer as potent as it once was. Besides, it was made to help recall simple things, not tracts of time separated by millennia. I am faced with the dilemma of either gifting one of you, or leaving my station every time one of you can't remember where she left her transformation wand. Thus it falls that I must gift one of you." She thought for a moment, then decided. "Luna of Mau, come forth." Luna eased herself forward and sat in front of Sailor Keeper, and looked her directly in the eyes. "Ah," said Sailor Keeper, smiling easily, "It seems that I have made the correct choice." She bent and placed her index finger on Luna's crescent moon. Luna closed her eyes. The moon glowed dully, then energy seemed to flash into it and it radiated brightly. Luna opened her eyes as Sailor Keeper drew her hand back. "There small one. I have gifted you with the power to meld minds and restore memories. Use your power well, and remember, if you truly need me again, do not hesitate to call." A cat-sized golden whistle fell at Luna's feet. Sailor Keeper turned to Luttra, Jettra, and Meattra. "Daemeon and Setsuna bade me to tell you to return soon, if you may, their own duties press them, but they understand the predicament these children are in." The scouts outside of time nodded. Sailor Keeper cast one final look around the room and the sighed, "I must be off Princess, I mean Serena. Take care!" With that, she faded out of their time and into her bubble. "Yes. Take care Sailor Scouts, you'll need it," she murmured to herself as the familiar sound of quill on parchment was heard in the bubble once more. ~*~ Kazracite fumed as she paced outside the chamber she had put David into. It was taking all of her powers and Dis's combined to keep David confined in the room, and it was placing a terrible strain on her. She'd had no sleep since she'd returned to the negative temporal plane, and she wasn't likely to get any soon. With Qintozite dead, and Chaos and Void gone, the only person she had to relieve her was Lord Dis, and she didn't entirely trust him. He said that he had no power to lend her because a great deal of his was lost since he'd given the Bloodstone Amulet to Void. Now she was gone, and so, apparently, was the amulet, and his power. Kazracite had her doubts as to that story, but she had no choice but to trust him. Kazracite was being spread very thin and she doubted her abilities to counter even the simplest attack. If things didn't immediately get better, she was in serious danger of losing David, and her chance to kill Princess Terra and take the Ceres Emerald Jadestone. However, just when she thought things could not resolve themselves, in the turmoil of her mind, a sound of peace came. "Kazracite," it murmured, "Kazracite, child, you seek power, do you not?" For once, Kazracite took the time to answer this question, which had been at the back of her mind for several days. "Of course I desire power. If I had power then I would to be in debt to that accursed Death Knight. If I had power, I could have Naverght and the Jadestone all to myself." "Would you be willing to guarantee loyalty in exchange for power?" Kazracite thought for a moment, "Well, yes. Unless they wanted me to give up Naverght. This 'thing' giving me the power must obviously be more powerful than me, and worthy of my respect." "Then Kazracite, would you be willing to serve me?" "Who are you?" she asked for the first time, rather startled. Suddenly, there was an explosion of blue foamy-mist, and a man with bright blue eyes and long, electric-blue hair stood in front of her. He wore a long sky-blue cape and a matching uniform and carried a seer's ball in his hand. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Turquas, and I am the current Lord General of the Dark Kingdom. I desire your loyalty, will you pledge it?" "I am guaranteed an increase in power?" "Of course." "You will help me make Naverght remember?" "I will help you to my utmost ability." Kazracite thought for a moment, "Exactly what does this loyalty entail?" "You will deliver the Jadestone to me, and then assist me in the capture of the Imperium Silver Crystal." Kazracite fumed, "I might have known that you were going to ask for something like this!" "No, Kazracite, think about it," Turquas soothed, "You will be my second in command, with all the power you could dream of, and you will have Naverght. What more could you want?" Kazracite thought it over for a moment. Turquas continued with his speech, "And just think, you couldn't dream of doing anything like that without my help. It's questionable if you could even capture the Jadestone alone, whereas with my help . . ." Turquas trailed off when he realized that he didn't have to sell his line any longer. She smiled at him and offered her hand, "If you put it that way, there's no way I could turn it down." Turquas elegantly took the hand, bent, and kissed it gently. "You know," he remarked, "I begin to believe we're going to get on together rather well." ~*~ "Are you sure you guys are willing to go through with this?" asked Sailor Chronos as she hefted her tuning fork staff. After looking at the other girls in turn, and lingering for a moment on Sailor Ceres, Sailor Moon replied, "Yes!" Sailor Ceres looked grateful, but worried, "You guys don't have come with me, you know this all started when we didn't know each other. Anyway, it's Ceres fight and not yours." "No way!" said Sailor Jupiter, "We're not about to abandon you!" "Yeah, we like you too much!" chirped Sailor Venus. "And what did I tell you?" asked Luna, "Now that you are a member of the Sailor Scouts, Ceres need not stand alone. It is our fight now too." Sailor Moon smiled, "Anyway, I haven't dusted any creeps this week since those zombies at the mall, and I'm looking for a fight!" Luna rolled her eyes. "I'm sorry I can't go with you, excellency," apologized Celeus. "I understand. It's too dangerous, even for a devil-may-care cat like you," Sailor Ceres snickered. For once, Celeus took the joke well, "I suppose I am going to have to get in shape one of these days." Luna couldn't resist, "For shame, Celeus. One of these days? What would Phoebe say?" Artemis scowled at both Luna and Celeus. Sailor Infinity interjected, "And I'm sorry we can't go with you. I wish we could. We'd show that Kazracite something!" "But we have to go back to the time-stream," Sailor Eternity reminded. "I know," said Sailor Infinity sadly, "But I sure will miss all you guys! By the way Terra, I hope you get David back, he was one mondo hot guy!" "It's time," said Chronos, "Say good bye to Chad for me, will ya'?" she asked Sailor Mars. Sailor Mars nodded, and the other Scouts braced themselves as Sailor Chronos tapped the staff on Sailor Moon's wall. The tuning for on the end began to vibrate and produce a musical hum. The hum grew steadily louder until the wall began to shimmer in time with it. Suddenly, a grey green portal opened up in front of them. "Go on through," called Chronos over the loud hum, "I can't hold it open for long!" The Inner Scouts nodded, and single file, entered the portal into the negative temporal plane. After they had gone, Sailor Infinity quizzically asked, "Just one question Jettra, How, by Father Time's beard, are they going to get back?" Chronos shrugged, "I guess they'll cross that bridge when they come to it." Sailor Infinity shrugged too as the three Scouts Outside of Time joined hands and closed their eyes. After a moment, they too faded from the room, and though it had been crowded to capacity only a few moments before, the only things that occupied it were three worried cats. Lindsey Browning When Sailor Moon and the other Sailor Scouts stepped out of the portal, they arrived in a nightmarish black cavern. None of them had expected anything like this, and it had a terrifying effect on them. Sailor Moon turned to ask Mercury to take some readings, but found the studious young woman already busy with her VR visor and minicomputer. She looked confused. "These readings are even more bizarre than those I got back in the Starlight Tower. I don't know what's going on. It's like everything is shifting around when we're not looking. I don't know, maybe the readings are wrong . . ." Sailor Mercury looked up to find herself alone, and talking to a featureless stone wall. Opening Song (Moonlight Legend) Series Title, Sailor Moon Remembered Senshi Episode Title (10) United we stand . . . Sailor Moon had been listening to Sailor Mercury explain her trouble with the readings, when suddenly, a sound behind her had startled her. She whirled round, and was confronted by a blank stone wall. She was creeped out and immediately turned around again, to enlighten Mercury as to their situation. She was frightened to find Sailor Mercury gone, and a smooth wall in her place. "Mercury!" she cried out, "Mercury, where'd you go?! Come out and I'll promise never to tease about Greg again . . . Mercury," she wailed, losing courage, "Where are you?" Suddenly a comforting hand was on her shoulder and Tuxedo Mask was quieting her. She was so overjoyed that she wasn't alone, she didn't even think to ask him what he was doing in this plane. He beckoned her forward, "Come on, meatball head. The others are waiting right up ahead." He gently led her through the tunnel and into a larger room. She could see all the other Scouts at the other end of the chamber, but something was wrong. They were all motioning frantically for her to look around, behind her. She did, tentatively and found herself face to face with a slimy green monster. She screamed and panicked. It shot a razor-sharp claw at her and she froze. At the last possible second, Tuxedo Mask pushed her out of the way and the claw sliced deep through the main artery in his leg. Sailor Moon cried out in agony and tried to protect him, but it was too late, the damage was done, and Tuxedo Mask's lifeblood was leaking out onto the floor. "I'll heal you, Darien. Don't die! Just hold on!" She pulled out the Crescent Moon Wand. "MOON HEALING ACTIVATION!" The light of the Imperium Silver Crystal shown brightly for a second, and then fizzled and died. "NO!" cried Serena as Tuxedo Mask grew very still. She curled up in a fetal position over his body and lost consciousness. ~*~ Sailor Mercury was confused by the sudden absence of the scouts at first, but after a moment, she accepted that her theory was right, and that the cave was indeed shifting as soon as she didn't watch it. "It must be a tactic to keep us off balance," she observed to herself. Suddenly, down the tunnel she caught a glimpse of Venus's orange skirt. "Mercury, is that you?" asked Venus. "Yes, it is. Do you know where the others are?" asked Mercury, approaching Venus. "No, I don't, and this is totally weirding me out, Mercury." "Don't worry. I think it's just the way this place is meant to be. Maybe if we look for them, we can find the other scouts. But we'll have to go back to back, so we can see everything, understand? And keep hold of my hand too, so I don't lose you." Sailor Venus nodded, and took Sailor Mercury's hand. They started down the corridor with Sailor Venus leading and Sailor Mercury play the rear guard and scanning everything. "We must look ridiculous," thought Mercury as they traversed the long tunnel. Suddenly they slowed and Sailor Venus said, "It looks like we're coming into a large room or something. I'm going to go in slowly, you follow, okay?" "Okay." Sailor Venus crept into the room quietly, leaving Sailor Mercury standing in the tunnel entrance. Sailor Mercury kept her eyes glued to Sailor Venus, knowing that if she took them off for one second, she could very likely lose her. Suddenly a dark blur obscure Mercury's vision and when it cleared, Sailor Venus was on the ground, being hounded by a dangerous looking panther-like creature. It had Venus's arms pinned so she couldn't defend herself and it looked like it was about to snack on her. "Sailor Mercury, HELP ME!!!!" cried Venus in distress. Mercury didn't need to be asked twice, "MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!" The tiny bubbles whizzed straight at the panther's head. When they struck, he looked like he'd been zapped by shaving cream. He shook his head vigorously and cleared the bubbles off. "Is that the best you can do? Bubbles? You've got to be kidding!" the panther snarled in amusement, and proceeded to feast on Sailor Venus. "NO!" cried Mercury, as she fell, helpless, into a fetal position in the tunnel entrance, and consciousness. ~*~ Sailor Mars looked around the tunnel and was startled to find herself alone with Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon was crying her eyes out and showed no signs of stopping. Exasperated, Sailor Mars grabbed Sailor Moon's hand and dragged her through the tunnel and into the larger room, where she could look at her. Sailor Moon was still crying. "Stop it, Sailor Moon!" yelled Mars, irritatedly. "But I don't want to. You're being mean and I'm scared, and no one else is around! Whaaaaaaaah!" "Be quiet, whiner, or some monster will hear you!" "Monster? Whaaaaaaaaaah! I hate monsters. I wanna go home!" "Sailor Moon, what about the others?" "I don't care about them, I want to go home! Whaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Sailor Mars was fed up with Sailor Moon, in exasperation, she slapped her across the face. "Don't you ever say that, Sailor Moon! We take care of you, the least you could do in care about us!" She turned her back on Sailor Moon in anger, and began to walk away. Before she was ten steps away, she heard Sailor Moon cry out shrilly "Mars! Come back! I need you!" Sailor Mars didn't turn around, "Yeah, right. You don't need me, and I'm not going to turn around until you apologize!" There was a gurgle in the back of Sailor Moon's throat and Sailor Mars turned around instantly in fear. She screamed when she saw what she had allowed to happen. There was Sailor Moon, on the floor, dead in a puddle of blood with a large, menacing panther-creature on top of her. "No!" cried out Sailor Mars and she fell to her knees in anguish. ~*~ Sailor Jupiter stealthily walked along the tunnel. She was fairly sure trouble was brewing up ahead. She slipped up to the opening that led into the large room swiftly, yet carefully, then she looked out through it. She was astounded. There, standing in the center of the room, bathed in pale, green light, was Ken. She immediately distrusted him. She knew that there was no way he could be there with her, but then, he looked up at her and smiled that smile. Then she knew. It had to be Ken. There was no way anyone could fake his smile like that. The corners of his eyes crinkled up and he grinned. "There you are Lita!" he called out as he spotted her. Sailor Jupiter looked down to find that her fuku had indeed vanished, leaving her as plain ol' Lita. "What is it, Ken?" she asked. "I wanted you to be the first to hear the great news!" "Yes?" "I'm in love, Lita!" Lita was shocked. He couldn't really mean he was in love . . . She looked up into his eyes and saw it. He was. The looks and smiles he'd once saved for only her were being hoarded now, kept away in some secret place, far from Lita's eyes. "She's great, Lita. I know you'll like her. She small and slender and has the softest blonde hair. She's warm and quiet, and smart too, Lita. I can't wait for you two to meet!" Ken smiled at her again, then he frowned, "We won't be seeing very much of each other now, Lita. I hope that's okay, but I have my own life to live, and besides, you'll always have whatshisname. Oh yeah, Freddy. Well, I hope you have a nice life, because I'll probably never have time to see you again." Ken smiled cheerily, then walked off and disappeared down another tunnel without letting Lita say another word. She fell into a fetal position on the floor and began to weep. ~*~ Sailor Venus found herself alone, in a large featureless room, without the benefit of entrances or exits. She looked around the room slowly and was startled to hear voices behind her. "Look, there she is, that Mina girl." "Yeah, boy, is she totally weird or what?" "Have you ever seen her room? She collects these stupid stuffed animals. The room is filled with them." "Yeah, I know. And you see that stupid bow in her hair, some guy told her to wear it," "You know, most of the guys at school know her pretty well, they call her 'easy Aino.'" Mina had had enough. She turned around, prepared to give these people what they deserved. As soon as she saw who they were she stopped dead in her tracks. Ami, Rei, Lita, and Serena all looked at her contemptuously. "This is a joke, right guys?" she asked, hoping against hope. "Get a life Mina, we don't talk to trash like you!" said Serena, and she led the others out a door that had appeared while Sailor Venus's back was turned. "You can't mean that!" She cried as she curled up into a little pile of misery, and lost herself in her own pain. ~*~ Sailor Ceres turned round and found herself face to face with her mother, High Queen Iris. "Seize her!" the High Queen cried out, and Naverght and Thornbrush tied her with glowing green vines she could not escape from. "Now Terra, you are just in time for this blessed event." cackled the High Queen wickedly, she gestured to the guillotine set up at the far end of the chamber. On the guillotine was her father, Lord Oaklawn. He looked at her helplessly. He was crying. Then, she saw behind him. There was a great line of people who were hooded, and awaited execution. Sailor Ceres saw Celeus, David, Serena, Mina, Rei, Luttra, Jettra, Meattra, Lita, Ami, Mr. Heath, Lord Highlawn, Birch Longstem, Aspen, her Uncle Hank, her mother and father . . . the list went on and on. Suddenly the blade fell and Terra tried to close her eyes. Naverght wouldn't let her, and he made her watch as another person was placed on the guillotine. She watched the blade fall time and again, and when she was beginning to lose her own mind at the thought of all these people she cared for dying, a deep seeded plea exploded in her mind. "Terra, it's me, David. Don't ask me how I'm doing this, but I can feel your pain and anguish. Don't let it get to you. It's just a dream! You've got to believe me! Nothing is real in this plane, it's all in the mind. Imagine this is gone, and it will be!" David's mind-link faded and failed, but it had accomplished its purpose. Terra felt down deep inside of herself, and willed her mind to expel this morbid fantasy. To Terra, the battle that ensued over her consciousness seemed to take hours, but in truth, it happened in only seconds. After a hard-fought battle, Terra emerged victorious and woke to find herself on the floor, surrounded by the other unconscious Sailor Scouts. to wake the others. They were confused, but after a few minuets they understood the gist of their predicament. "If David is right and this place is merely in our dreams, we ought to be able to use that to our advantage," said Mercury thoughtfully. "Like how, Mercury?" asked Sailor Moon. "Simple. If we all concentrate on a place together, we ought to be able to overcome Kazracite's hold on us and physically appear wherever we want." "So you're telling me that all we have to do is think real hard?" asked Sailor Moon skeptically. "Correct!" Sailor Moon shrugged, "Well, anything's worth a try at least once!" They all gathered in a circle, joined hands, and closed their eyes. "SCOUT POWER!" ~*~ Kazracite was watching David squirm as he hung from a golden chain on the ceiling. Oh, to be sure, his feet could touch the ground, so he wasn't really hanging, Kazracite couldn't do something like that to him, but he pulled taunt so that he couldn't move his hands. He was also gagged. "Just a precautionary measure, my love," she had consoled him, but every time she called him 'my love' he squirmed even harder. "Fine, be that way." she said simply, "I think you'll change you attitude when I kill that Ceres brat and take the Jadestone. She saw pure bubbling rage pour from his eyes and she smiled happily, "There's my old Naverght! You always used to look like that when I mentioned Ceres! Good to have you back!" She ran over and hugged him. He jounced uncontrollably when he touched her, and she saw that the hatred in his eyes was for her alone. "Damn," she cursed, "Well, almost. We'll try again later!" Suddenly, a new voice startled her from behind, "No, you won't. You're finished trying to steal other people's boyfriends. We all know that David likes Sailor Ceres! I am Sailor Moon, and I stand for love and justice!" "I'm Sailor Mars and if you play with my emotions, you'll get burned!" "I'm Sailor Mercury and only lowlife slime messes with people's minds!" "I'm Sailor Jupiter, and I won't forgive you for making me see that!" "I'm Sailor Venus, and the Goddess of love, Aphrodite, is the only one who's aloud to tangle with emotions! Not lowlife scum like you!" "And I'm Sailor Ceres and I'm sick and tired of you messing up my life!" "In the name of the moon We shall right wrongs and triumph over evil, and that means you're going to be moon-dusted, sister!" Kazracite was startled, and angry, "Wait! You're supposed to be stuck in your worst nightmares! How did you get free?" "Let's just say a friend helped us out when we were in need!" said Sailor Ceres. "No matter, I'll kill you all anyway! VOLCANIC INFERNO!" Sailor Moon used the Crescent Moon Wand to fend off the majority of the blow, but the little that hit them still left them woozy. Sailor Venus shook herself out of it and helped Sailor Moon to stand up. "Come on Scouts! We've got to rally!" she cried as Sailor Moon went into the prep for Cosmic Moon Power. "MERCURY POWER!" "MARS POWER!" "JUPITER POWER!" "VENUS POWER!" "COSMIC MOON POWER!" The Crescent Moon Wand was charged to it's fullest, but it wouldn't release. Sailor Moon immediately started to panic. Kazracite was amused. "Now," she said, "I'm going to kill you all slowly, one by one!" "Oh no guys, it's not working! What are we going to do?" Sailor Mercury answered slowly, "Maybe it hasn't regained its full powers yet. It was really zapped when you used it on Queen Beryl." "I KNOW THAT MERCURY BUT WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?" wailed Sailor Moon. "Calm down, Sailor Moon," said Sailor Ceres, pulling out the Ceres Power Key, complete with Jadestone, "Hold the Wand away from you, I have an idea!" Sailor Moon complied. "CERES COSMIC" began Sailor Ceres, and suddenly she was no longer in her fuku, but her pale, green princess dress. Green light-energy pooled around her and surrounded her body, she finished the spell, "POWER!" The bolt of pure green energy blasted the Crescent Moon Wand and caused it to release all it's energy. Kazracite was unprepared for this, and it blasted her directly. She crumbled to dust without another word, and both Sailor Moon and Sailor Ceres collapsed from the effort. The two crystals glowed dimly in the half light as Jupiter heaved Sailor Moon into her arms. "Hey David, can you get Ceres?" she asked, "I've kinda got my hands full." "MURMPH!" David cried out and squirmed some more. "Oops!" the scouts sweatdropped, "Sorry about that, David. We'll get you down." "VENUS CRESCENT BEAM SMASH!" David fell to the ground as the chain was severed. He ungagged himself, then rubbed hi arms. "Thanks guys, I was afraid you wouldn't come and save me." "We couldn't just leave you here!" said Jupiter in distress. "Yeah, besides, we still owe you a pizza!" chirped Venus happily. David pulled Ceres into his arms and turned to the other scouts. "Just one question," asked Mercury, turning to David and the other Scouts, "With Sailor Moon and Sailor Ceres unconscious, how are we going to get home?" The scouts sweatdropped again. David sighed and transferred Terra to Sailor Venus, who held her up the best she could. David picked up the Ceres Power Key and turned to the others. "Stand really close to me. I'll see if I can remember how to do this . . ." After a few moments concentration, he called out, "CERES TELEPORT!" Lindsey Browning Sailor Moon Remembered Senshi Epilogue "I hope it was a wise decision to blank the scouts memories again, Luna," said Artemis as he sunbathed on Serena's roof. "Oh, but Artemis, remember how happy they were before this all started? When they were just 'normal'?" reminded Luna. "But they were such good friends," sighed Artemis, "I wish there'd been some other way." "But there wasn't, Artemis," said Luna, "All, or nothing. If they keep the pleasure, they keep the pain. And no matter what the pleasure is, I for one would much rather spare them the pain." "I still think we should have asked them." "They would never agree." "But what about Serena and Darian, and Terra and David?" asked Artemis, "They might never know each other now!" "Destinies have a way of happening, no matter what the circumstances," said Luna, "Trust me Artemis, they'll meet again. And even if destiny needs a little help, we always have Celeus." "I still don't know how you convinced him to sleep out on David's doorstep for a whole week until David finally investigated the 'lost kitty.' Terra must have been worried sick about him." "Lets just say I have my methods, it served a purpose. Terra and David have at least met at this point." "All we have to do now is get Serena and Darian back together . . ." Suddenly a voice was heard on the street below. "Oh no! I am so totally late for school!" There was the sound of a minor catastrophe and another, male, voice responded, "Watch where you're going, meatball head!" Luna and Artemis both sweatdropped and exchanged glances . . . "That may be harder than we thought." END OF PRETTY SOLDIER SAILOR MOON REMEMBERED SENSHI! STAY TUNED FOR THE RESURFACING OF SAILOR CERES IN PRETTY SOLDIER SAILOR MOON KNIGHTS OF THE COSMOS!
